Hello dear virtual friends. Yesterday I wrote an article related to my engagement in the Red Cross and one of the nice comments was actually a piranha about what happened in that famous 1885. Well, here's an @apela with pleasure, I'll tell you that beautiful story.
At the end of the 19th century, when Bulgaria began to expand in the Balkans, by directly violating the decision of the Berlin Congress, its expansion was a direct danger and provocation for the then Kingdom of Serbia.
After unsuccessful diplomatic activity, King Milan declared war on Bulgaria.
At that time, the Kingdom of Serbia already had the established Red Cross and organized hospitals, and Bulgaria did not. As a result, the Bulgarian wounded had no one to take them off the battlefield or provide them with any medical assistance. The International Red Cross collected aid from all over Europe and was to be delivered to Bulgaria. Ironically, the only road to Bulgaria was through Serbia. Just then, something happened that the world had never seen
THE MILITARY COMMAND OF SERBIA STOPPED THE WAR FOR ONE DAY, opened the front line and missed medical transport across its territory. But that was not all Serbia did. She added medicines, blankets and beds from her supplies to the International Red Cross transport and handed over to Bulgarian soldiers everything necessary to open a hospital. Nothing similar to this humane act was recorded before or after 1885.
In memory of this humanitarian gesture, the International Red Cross awarded Serbia a special recognition for humanity, and a plaque with the inscription "Be humane as Serbia was in 1885" stood in the building of this institution in Geneva until a few years ago.
Well, @apela I hope you liked this story, and everyone else who reads my texts. If you have not read my text related to the Serbian Red Cross, you can read it here. Greetings to all of you @Jigglyspy

Pozdrav dragi virtuelni prijatelji.
VOJNA KOMANDA SRBIJE PREKINULA JE RAT NA JEDAN DAN, otvorila liniju fronta i propustila medicinski transport preko svoje teritorije.
