One morning I went to town to buy something when I a kid bumped into me. I took a closer look at him and I clearly saw that his body was so thin. I saw his ribs bone under his ripped shirt. I reach out my hands to lift him up. I hold his hands and I noticed the girt of his hands are like to a 6 years old kid.

I felt sad for him and I invite him to talked with me at the park. I told him to wait me there, he asked if she can invite his sister also, I said yes. I went to the bakery to buy some bread and water enough for us. After buying I went immediately to the park then I saw them waiting patiently for me.

I didn't say that I will buy some foods so when they saw it, the smile on their faces came out. I gave them the breads and we ate together. While eating I used the opportunity to asked them why they lose so much weight especially the boy compared to his sister.

He answered that they are eating less for the whole year and they haven't eat for 2 days already in that week. I asked their parents where abouts then he said that their mother is doing laundry while his father is collecting bottles, cans and all things to be sold at the junkshop. Their parents earns a little that's why their condition are like that.

We talked a lot more and our talk lassted for almost 3 hours and I forgot to trace the time. It's already lunch time when we finished talking. Before leaving them we went to a restaurant along the street where you can order foods in a cheap price but good.

After that we went home already and I see to it that they got home by calling a tricycle for their ride. The feeling of being able to help them is unexplainable. From what happened I realized something important and it's a lesson they taught to me before.

That is a true story by the way. We're friends with that kid now and his parents got a job already in the capitol.

Finish your food, only get what you can finish, don't waste it because there's a lot of people out there who can't even eat just like the way we did.

Since I was a child upto now I heard those words from my parents, grandparents and most of the people I know. I bet you also heard those words especially when you were a kid when you tried to throw away your foods or when you don't want to want to eat.

It was engraved in my mind until now that's why I'm always exercising it whenever I have foods or when I go to some occasions. I also taught it to my younger cousins for them to know the importance of not wasting their foods. I hope you're doing the same.

Some people are not serious about this thing and tend to make fun of it. If you will tell them those words they will answer you in a philosophical way just like this, Will the stomach of those people who don't eat like us will be fulled if we don't waste our food? An answer like that make me want to put him inside a sack then hang him to a tall tree hayyst.

Instead of knowing the reason why they have to do it they answer like that. What's worst in todays young generations are like that most especially those some rich kids who just love to waste money and food. They also tend to belittle those who can't eat 3 times a day. That kind of action makes our society more toxic.

This kind of problem is always present in our society for how many years but the world leaders can't solve it. He in our country Philippines, I don't have the data but for sure there's a lot of them and they need attention mostly from the government.

I'm not saying that those people should depend to the government but if a country with a lot of cases regarding hunger, there must be something wrong. A problem that needs solution and I hope everybody will not turn a blind eye to it.

Author's note

That saying I mentioned above about foods, I hope we can execute it until we get old and pass it down to our offspring when the time comes. We can create a better world to live in if we can see our fellow humans with their stomach full. I really admire those people who allot their time to help these people. Their initiative of doing it is very contagious and I hope everyone will be infected with the kindness to help his/her fellow human.

I saw a lot of charities for a cause such as this one and I hope they continue their mission is. I hope they will not get tired of doing it. A lot of people already suffered from it due to some reasons such as wars and other factors. I hope one day there will be no more empty stomach under the blazing sun.

I'm glad you helped those children. There are a lot of good people and a lot of bad people. The important thing is that we are the good ones and try to make those around us also be good. I am currently in a foundation where we help children and elderly people who don't have many resources, so we bring them clothes, food and medicine whenever necessary. Also if we see a pet in the street and we have some food and water we also feed them. It is good to help others because it creates more love and kindness in our hearts.

I hope that in the near future wala nang bata ang magugutom. Tbh, government can really help alleviate the problem of hunger and malnutrition talaga eh. They should invest in short term ang long term solutions

I'm really hoping for that to happen..para naman kahit bata sila eh maenjoy man lang nila ang buhay na di kumakalam ang mga sikmura nila... Dapat long term solutions ang kailangan sa ganitong bagay..

Nakakalungkot na in their young age nararanasan na nila yang ganyan. At nakakahanga naman talaga yang mga tao na kahit kapos din basta maka tulong, go lang. Sana talaga marami oang ganyan sa mundo. Yung wala din namang kskayahan still pipiliin pa rin makatulong in their own little way. Yong ibang tao ang galing magtapos ng pag kain without knowing na ang daming batang nagugutom sa mundo. Aigooo

You did a great service to humanity by taking care of those two kids. I bet you, you will not go unrewarded for your kindness. We need to be very careful when it comes to eating and wasting food. Most people out there don't have what to eat.

I'll let God to that matter..Helping others can change your life too.. A lot of people need them so we should be grateful also and don't treat our food as a garbage when we don't want to eat it.

Louder jher! We shouldn't waste our food. There are people who felt hunger a lot. We are lucky that there we have a foods that we can eat. Some people hoping a life same with us. Those homeless people. This is the reason why I felt pity those street children. I always gave them a foods everytime I have a supermarket. It's really heartbreaking when you encounter those children who are hungry.

Your heart will be really touch if you see them down the streets, walking under the sun begging for something. but what really hurt me is that when I see them approaching people and they just drive them away even if they can give some.

Heard of the same advice as a kid and continually living by it. I keep reprimanding my college roommates back then when they would throw foods but sadly they don't have the same sentiments as mine.

Hundred percent absolutely right. We don't have to waste food jusg because we don't want to eat it. At the very first place, we chose that amount of food.

I'm glad those kids are okay and their parents got a new job in the capitol. They must have been hungry and very thin as what I envision. Totally can break someone's heart.

Sometimes it's better to take only small amount first then go for a second if needed para hindi masayang yung pagkain..

Actually I told my story to my tito who worked in the capitol and he said there's a vacant back then..kahit na mababa lang yung sweldo atleast para kahit papano may pantawid araw araw..
