I can feel the change in temperature these past few days and especially around 1 am upto 6 am. I can see those white webs hanging in trees and in my plants. Those spidey are busy hunting those little insects. Well that's the scenario everytime when the christmas season is in the air and we Filipinos are getting with the flow by attaching those colorful decorations in the street and in our house. I just want use this opening paragraph of mine to remind everybody that in this time I hope everyone will open their hearts, share the love, forgive those who made bad things to you even if you're not talking to each other and most of all be kind to all. You don't have to pay any toll just be kind. It's within us and we just have to manifest it in our daily lives.
In my last article about the task assigned to me by my father I said that I'll make the door and we will buy galvanized iron sheet for the roof. We went to town before our vaccination to look but the store that sell one of those was closed. We don't know when it will open so we decided to visit it again after our vaccine. Our vaccine was just last tuesday so due to the after effects of the vaccine, my father said that we will go when I feel the heaviness in my arm is gone. I've been inactive and were not able to publish article for two days already due to that one. I'm working on the door last November 11, I wanted to finish it as soon as possible but my hand was not doing well so my father help me do it and it's a relief that we finished it already.
Now for the galvanized iron, we went to town again to check the store but still it's closed. Some of the people there said that maybe he's somewhere else. My father decided to buy in another shop instead of waiting for the owner to return. Waiting for it will only delay the progress of the chicken house. Galvanized iron is a bit pricey but if you want something that last for more than 10 years then go for it. Your money will not be wasted with the material. Each sheet costs 240 pesos or around $4 point something. All in all plus the costs of the nails it's around 1350 pesos or $26 point something.
My father was the one who attached all the sheets because I don't have yet the expertise to do it. I'm more on block layering in constructions and in mixing the cement and gravel. Yesterday I was his assistant in finishing the project. I just made the body but when it comes to it's roof I'm no match for my papa hehe. Yesterday we finished the house already in order for the chickens to enjoy a wider space. We put them immediately inside after we attached the sheets and it looks like they are happy about it. I took a picture of the finish project and the chickens so let's take a look at it my friends.
Here you go guys look at the house of our chickens. It's just a simple one, it's roof style is not like the houses but it's arrangement is one way only. The chickens are inside already so I closed the door. Let's get inside and take a look at the chickens.
Another family of chicks just hatched this day that's why the newly constructed house is just in time. I can't put them in here right now because they will rest for about 2 days for them to have the energy to be in land. I already count them and I'm happy because they are total of 11 chicks. I already told it to my father that they hatched that's why he will buy feeds for them to eat. I will update it guys if they will live all because there's a tendency that some of them may die due to some factors affecting their health.
Closing thought
What I want to show to you guys is that there's a big advantage of taking care and raising our own livestocks. Building a house for them is a bit challenging and can cost you penny but it's benefit will last for a long time. There's no mainting foods for chickens, you can set them free from their house then they are the one who will look for their foods outside. But in our case that we have a maniac neighbor who loves to kill animals, we don't have a choice but to lock them up and provide them their foods. It's not that problem because you can feed anything to native chickens. Let's learn how to raise our own foods guys. It's for our own safety also.
That's my article for today friends. Thank you for reading this far and see you on my next articles.
