I'm Telling You, Your Life Is Better Today Than Yesterday
Many times, you would think how things are going now if you made a big, life-changing, different decision on that day. I know there comes a random day in your life where you recall those memories and can't help but wonder "how did I come up here?". That's when you get drowned of your what ifs and could have beens.
Rest assured, to you who's reading right now, you are not alone. The writer herself has her versions of what ifs too. Decisions that could have changed my life but what can I do? It's all done. What to do now? I know we are both figuring out life still.
Coming in to this day, I have already made drafts on what to write and I stumbled upon sis @bmjc98 's "Five Signs That Your Life Is Doing Better Than Before"and madam @Glez 's "Signs That Your Life Is Way Better Than Before" articles respectively about the signs of having a better life today than yesterday. And so, I am making an article of my own too. Thanks to these pretty ladies.
Here are signs to tell myself that my life is better today than before
We have our own house and lot.
Our house may not be the biggest or prettiest, I never wished of a big house anyway, just enough to shelter us, but I'm grateful we have our own house and lot.
When I was born, we lived in a subdivision. That's where I met my childhood friends. We pay for the house rent monthly until I turned 11 years old. I didn't really know what's happening at that time but all I know was our house was partially done and we moved in there at dawn.
We can buy liempo or lechon manok even without occasion.
Growing up, I have never seen the family struggle with having food on the table. Maybe because my parents are good in finding ways to not run out of food supply in the house or maybe I was just still a kid and I don't fully understand of why things happen at those times.
Either way, what I can say is that when it is Friday, even without occasion, dad buys either liempo or lechon manok. Fridays are payday of dad's. His employer gives him salary weekly. It's always a nice feeling to have everyone eat together in the dining area.
I do online Shopping.
Not everyone is given the privilege to have a cellphone. Cellphones are considered as a need in this generation but the reality is, not everyone has the same opportunity or status that we have in our respective lives.
By having the knowledge of calibrating technological products, it gives me an advantage of being aware of almost everything. I consider it as a skill for survival. We still have friends that are illiterate and as much as we want, we should make amends of the digital divide.
We have a computer set.
Last year was when I finally decide to buy a desktop computer. I wanted it to be placed at home for mom to use whenever she has stuffs for school. I am super grateful that Gifter lent me 20k pesos to buy that desktop in cash.
The money I lent from him is not yet fully paid but I should pay him as soon as possible. He doesn't really mind though but as for me who's got this uneasy thinking of settling things as much as I can, I had to work my ass off for this.
I've got a handful of true friends that I can rely on.
When I graduated in college, or even when I started working, I've got plenty of people whom I got to interact with. I consider them as people close to me. However, when I settled in here and isolated myself from the outside, I lost in touch with them. That's when I realized that people come and go.
Some people do not necessarily stay in your life for good but do leave marks that you would treasure in your entire life. As I got older, there are only 2 friends that I have that I consider relevant to my life. As they say, quality over quantity.
There are so much to be grateful for. You just have to open your eyes and stop looking everywhere. Focus on what you have and not what you don't have.
Thanks for reading.
Keep safe everyone!
LOL.
