Every smile counts! But what about the laughter? That would be more to count βΊ.
The next 30 Days of Gratitude topic talks about something that made me laugh today and a book that I love reading. In my article Every smile counts, I mentioned that I seldom smile, and I seldom laugh as well. Unless I watch a very funny show every day, lol. But it seldom happens too, only during holidays. Such a boring life, you can tell. I can't laugh without any reason anyway, or else, I'll be called crazy, lol.

(30DofG) Don't Hesitate To Laugh
The day I wrote this article was the day of Colette's birthday, my boss' daughter. It was supposed to be a special day but the day was just the same as an ordinary one. Nothing special, except for the cake her parents bought for her. I'm not sure though if she considered my cute little dolphin keychain gift as a special one, which I mentioned in my article, looking for a dolphin.
It's a gift of life and one deserves to celebrate it. However, for a student with a strict mother who wants her to study more for upcoming final examinations, a celebrant will have no choice but to consider her birthday an ordinary day. I pity her. They usually went out with her family and relatives every birthday occasion, but due to changes in school schedules because of the pandemic, there wasn't a special celebration for her special day as she needs to study instead of having fun. Her life has never been fun anyway, except for days she is free, and that's when her mother is out for a long period, lol.
She would often say, "life is so boring." Indeed, it is for her. Just imagine waking up at 6 in the morning, going to school until 1:30 pm, then going to learning centers after school, and at home at night, she still needs to study until midnight, even on Saturdays and Sundays. Can't she have a break? I hope I could change her mother's perspective. Unfortunately, no one dared to do so because it's just pointless as she only listens to herself, not even to her family, how much more to me?
Back to the topic...
Something that made me laugh that day was when this celebrant said,
"I don't want to celebrate my birthday."
"Because you need to study?" I answered.
"I don't want to get old." She said.
That made me laugh. Not a hard laugh, but just a faint one. I then told her,
"You can't avoid that. We are growing older each year. You grow old by age, but you can still stay young at heart and mind."
She just reasoned out that she doesn't want to get old and just stay young. Then she went to school after we exchanged thoughts.
Another thing that made me laugh that day was when she complained about the dolphin I included in her birthday card, lol. It's too cute though. I just made the card complete. Her idol's face, her signature, a cute dolphin that symbolizes her idol, and a phrase from her favorite song
In the afternoon after her class, we had small chitchat when her mother went out to pick up her cake. We talked about her idol's latest photo and how pretty she is there. I complimented her idol and I told her that I like her body figure which is not too skinny. She agreed with it and mentioned her look back when she was still new in the industry.
While she was describing her idol's old appearance, she was lost for words and mentioned the wrong one. Instead of saying "bony" to describe too skinny people with protruding bones, she used the word "boneless" and I reacted and jest at her,
"What boneless? Boneless chicken?" The first thing that came to my mind, lol.
She laughed at what I said, and I laughed seeing her laughing. ππ
When she can't reply, I added, "boneless fish? Boneless dolphin?" π€£π€£ She just laughed too hard.
She kept saying the wrong words that day and another one was "custom," instead of "costume" when she was referring to the pretty outfit of her idol. I just told her, "custom? The one checking the shipments from abroad? π " π€£π€£
I like teasing her whenever she says the wrong term but she doesn't mind. Instead, it becomes the start of a humorous conversation. She has a sense of humor too and she likes throwing jokes that only I can appreciate since the oldies here are KJ (killjoy), lol.
What I like about this lady is she doesn't hesitate to laugh out loud even though her parents don't want to. And their absurd reason? They said that guys might be turned off at her loud laugh, lol. Unbeknownst to them, their lovely daughter likes lovely ladies, not men that only I, know π€£. It seems like I know her better than her parents.
The lady is so timid outside but loud at home. That is because, only at home she becomes herself, her real self. And it often hurt her when her parents don't want her to be noisy at home (laughing out loud and talking loud) if too excited when telling stories.
Laughing is something we shouldn't deprive ourselves of doing. I remembered what my sister told me before that laughing is our heart's best exercise. This sister of mine also laugh out loud and something that a guy she's dating would be turned off. I actually told that to her before, lol. Seeing Colette's situation only reminded me of my sister. These two ladies (my sister and Colette) are pretty but wait for them to laugh, you'll probably say "who is she? I don't know her. She's not my sister." Bad Ate! π€£π
They don't hesitate to laugh. That's probably the secret to their beauty, lol. As the adage goes, "laughter is the best medicine." So if we laugh more often (with reason, okay π ), we would probably stay young at heart, and live longer and happier...and prettier? π
Need to finish posting these remaining drafts for 30 Days of Gratitude π€£. They've been sitting on my drafts for a long time now, lol.
