Waiting Period
Have you ever been in the position of waiting? It’s a frustrating period. It can be a woman waiting for the fruit of the womb a student waiting for admission, a worker waiting for his pay or any other form of waiting. Impatience sometimes set it but with dedication, one can overcome it and get to the finish line. This present crypto crash can be likened to a waiting period too, especially for holders. No matter how we try to ignore the market price, constant reminders are all over the internet. Even after deleting my wallet, I couldn’t take my mind off it.
It is necessary in life to wait. A pregnant woman waits for 9 months before welcoming her child. Students spend years in school to get a certificate and knowledge needed to navigate through life, an apprentice goes through rigorous training and endures so many things just to attain their goal.
No one ever said that waiting would be easy, but you have to be strong if you want to reap the reward in the end. This is never truer than today when every little thing has a price. You may have to wait as long as five years for something that could make or break your future. You will have to face a lot of disappointments before you get what you want because many are after the same thing and they will stop at nothing to get it before you.
So, what are you waiting for? Are you going to wait until the last day of the last year before you get what you long for? Or, will you do something about it right now? The waiting period is not an easy time. It's the time when your patience and resolve are tested. You expectantly wait for what you desire but it will look as if it isn’t forthcoming. Only those who endure till the end will reap the reward.
It was during a recent wait that I had cause to reflect on life, its lessons and how I've changed as a result of them. I also reflected on how I’ve advised people, particularly my friends when they come across tough times. To put it simply, I’ve told them to be their best self and believe they can conquer anything that comes their way. Not only have I said this in words but I’ve demonstrated this with my actions.
For me, overcoming the odds has always been about changing one's state of mind and being willing to take action. Most times this has to do with examining your current situation & understanding what will work for you & what won't work for you.
That moment of clarity allows you to see things from a different light. This isn’t actually new information; however, it becomes new information when you have situational awareness and you're able to process & understand this information immediately. This is why some people can be great at certain things and not very good at others. It also explains why some people do well under pressure & why others fail miserably in stressful situations.
The waiting period is not an easy time. It's the time when your patience and resolve are tested. You expectantly wait for what you desire but it will look as if it won't be forthcoming. Only those who endure till the end will reap the reward. That is why it is called a waiting period. The longer you wait, the more valuable the reward becomes. In time, you will see that your commitment was never wasted and that it was worth every moment. You will have gained and learned so much. Your life and your perspective are likely different from before so whatever you've gone through will have shaped you into someone better than before.
Conclusion
After the rain, the sun will shine. After the test is over expect a result. Waiting patiently has a reward. The waiting period is painful but when the result comes you'll forget the things you endured. See the full version here. While waiting, be careful of how you seek shortcuts, because shortcuts are most times the longest route.
