Being a city kid and all, going on long drives outside the metro always excite me. There's never enough greenery in the metro to even compare to some of the provinces here. Specially in Rizal, it's one of the closest areas near metro manila that has still managed to maintain and preserve much of its beauty. In this trip we went to a sort of local music festival(?) Somewhere in Baras, one of the towns in Rizal and the sight with each mountain we pass really was breathtaking.
This was the place where the mini festival took place, it wasn't much of a crowd but it was fun. All the lanterns hung on the cottages lit up at night but the view it faced was precious
It faced a mountain with one of the loveliest views during sunset and sunrise. I'd know since i didn't sleep that entire trip
Here was the sunset. i didn't manage to get a photo of dawn since the house covered what little i could see of the sunrise itself. But by morning we did manage to gather enough energy to go for a short drive. It somehow lead us to a trekking path that promised a waterfall at the end of its trail. And being the city folks high on caffeine and sugar that me and my companions were, we went trekking
What was amazing was that we even had to cross a rope bridge for this. Again, a very new experience for me. Then the trek continued into such a steep descend down to where the waterfall was
It wasn't much of a waterfall as what I'd always expected one to be but it was still beautiful, nonetheless. It seems that it just hot smaller due to the reduced amount of trees in that area. I hope they would continue to at least preserve this for other generations to see because it saddens with the thought that one day these sights will all be gone.
