Pandemic Coins for a Cause

Middle of March 2020, the start of quarantine, our company started its shuttle service for its employee. Its pretty obvious that I can save my transportation budget because of this. I did. I put everything in my powder plastic bottle and some of it where exchanged by paper money because I no longer have plastic powder bottle at home to keep the coins.

I went to back to have it exchanged. For 2 months of saving my transportation budget, I remember the amount was 3750 in peso. I was startled that if I had done this every month, I have 3750 pesos every 2 months and imagine the amount for 12 months, PHP 22,500!!!woah.

The shuttle service continues but due to there are lots of employees being pickup everyday and they are living far away from the office, I gave way. I am 20 minutes away from the office so I think I can sacrifice due to my comapssto the company. Our company CEO always tells us that due to pandemic we should practice being compassionate, so I did, on that way. However, even when I am no longer included in the shuttle service after it was brce GCQ, I still continue saving my coins in the plastic powder bottle. Specially I used Johnsons baby powder bottle to insert my coins. You know it is not advisable to hord coins especially the old ones, so if you are planning to save coins, make sure it is the new denomination.

Just this afternoon, I opened one plastic powder bottle that I save for 2 weeks. I just randomly put coins there and I am not sure of the amount in total. It became a habit for me to do it and it helps a lot.

I counted it and you know what, seeing these coins really makes me happy. It give some a different happiness because I have been working for so long but I haven't done saving coins. I save paper money but it will be used for some urgent matters, it only slips in my hand. Coins doesn't though I need to open up because I am giving some for a cause

The amount is.... PHP 1030!!!

That is for two weeks. I randomly put them in the plastic powder bottle when I go home. I have 3 bottles at work too. You know where I put them all?

The Mudrakels Project

This Is my project for my mother. On Christmas, I will buy a cake and I will put money on it. The amount is secret for now, but it will not be that big but I will make it happen. It is either on Christmas or New Year, between that two.

I plan to do it because I want to appreciate her hard work towards us. I am giving her allowance everyonth, but I think those amount, in total, is never enough for the love and sufferings she has done to us. She is my only parent now so I need to shower her with love!!

The Cage Project

I have lots of dog and it is really expensive and costly if you do have lots of pets. There are cages for cats already but I need to replace new cages for dogs so they can rest and sleep comfortably there. I already bought their electric fans. I bought 3 electric fans for group of dogs but now I need new cages. The cages amount starts from PHP 2500-3000, I need 4 cages so I need PHP 12,000. My savings is not enough for the cages that is why I'm thankful about readcash because I can pinch some of the earnings from here.

The Leash Project

This Is an additional project. I told you guys that there are several Fire Incidents here in our place. It is not that I am anticipating but it is good if we are prepared. I have 10 puppies so my idea is to put them to cage. I have cages for cats already, I need to buy leash for the big dogs so I can just hold them all while running, isn't it? I just need some trainings to keep them calm while putting it. The amount is starts from PHP 300 to 500, so I need PHP 4500 for 9 dogs.

The Online Class Project

Since the start of Pandemic, there are lots of online classes and you all know the hardship of every students, teachers and their parents, when it comes to gadgets and Internet connection. Every payday, I browse FB post for a post about asking help for online class. I always share my earnings for these students through Gcash, a money wallet. With a little amount, I felt I give them a little relief. That is how I can help and practice compassion during Pandemic. It becomes a habit. I have been doing this for 1 year and 3 months now.

Good thing I have readcash, I can help lots of students but for this August I will stop for a while and save it and start again by September, where the online class will start.

It was not plan at first...

It is funny that I do not plan it. It becomes a habit before I made a plan. It is one of the reason I wake up everyday. Before, it is hard to save money but I realize I just need to start doing it and it will be a habit and now, it is automatic that I will put coins in my plastic bottle. It also helps me as a person because I thought I can't do it, but I can. I really can and I'm loving it. It gives self respect and I discovered that I really can do things of I execute it!!

Before Sunday ends, I'm happy that I posted this one. I had been longing for this post but I always forgot. I want to send a message of compassion in a little way we can, it whatever ways we can. We can do it, I know we can.
