If you missed the first part of the trip, you can check it out HERE.
The night was falling quickly but luckily for us, the boat had lots of lights on it and the light reduced our worries. Everyone kept their phone except for me because it dropped earlier, I guess they have all learn from my lesson.
Soon the moon took over from the sun and the view of the ocean was something I haven't seen before.
I reached my pocket for my phone to grab a shot of the moon forgetting that I misplace it already. I approached @Jeaneth to ask if she saw my phone and she burst into laughter.
Is anything the problem? I asked and she said you dropped it earlier, have you forgotten so quickly?
I felt bad and embarrassed as I walked away, the thoughts of surviving a week on the Island without a phone seems ridiculous to me.
Everywhere was calm, the breeze was really cold and everyone's mind was fixed on the help coming. A few minutes after 8pm, we got a radio call that help would reach us in less than an hour but we weren't convinced because we heard that an hour ago.
We all heard a scream from behind the boat and it looked like someone was attacked, we rushed towards the noise and it was @Maryjacy kicking an invisible object. @Pantera tried holding her but she didn't stop screaming, she said "a crocodile climb on the boat and wanted to bite her", we all ran away from the spot but @Kelzy was assuring us that it is impossible for a crocodile to climb a boat as high as that.
Those words weren't convincing enough even though she is a specialist with aquatic animals, she went back to @Maryjacy who was still screaming, she helped her up and told her to relax.
It was then she realized that she has been dreaming all along. She said, "oh sorry, I have been dreaming all this while".
Everyone looked at each other with surprise, I didn't believe we have been running from one end of the boat to the other because of a dream. I feared what the night would look like if help eventually didn't come, I walked towards @Plint telling him how much I needed a bottle of beer to at least make me forget what was going on.
I sat down with sweat pouring from my face despite the cold breeze, he laughed at me and I kept wondering why I was the only one who was sweating that badly, I think it happened because I was under much pressure.
I quickly reached for a small towel in my bag and it seems like I was due for a shower after everything I have faced on the boat.
Suddenly, the boat lights started to dim, @King_Gozie noticed it and went to inform the captain but wasn't paying attention and by the time he did we were almost in the dark, it was too late. The captain confessed that the lights have never been on for over two hours before, using it for over 5hrs probably killed the battery.
Few people came with lamps, some even had two so they gave one out. We all had the lamps everywhere but we needed one at the top of the boat but nobody was ready to climb, the captain was big enough to create a hole if he falls from the top and his thighs were too big to be lifted. No one was willing to do it but the captain reminded us that the rescue ship wouldn't be able to find us without a signal, the light was our last signal since the boat battery went off.
Midnight was kicking in, the panic increased, and @Kushyzee choose to fix a lamp up there. He took the brightest light and climbed to hang it at the top of the boat. While he was at the top, he saw light on the sea running in the opposite direction of our boat and it was very far from us. He shouted from there but the noise wasn't enough, all we could do was wave our lights.
It seems they have been looking for us but couldn't find our boat because we were offline and if the search wasn't unsuccessful, they will return to the port and search again at daybreak. We all became hopeless and to make things worse the company we had earlier seem to have returned due to our noise.
It just circled the boat again and went it's way.
@Pearlkel, @Kushyzee, and @Princessbusayo followed the captain to check the engines again, they tried several ways to make it come back to life but it didn't work. We finally gave up and decided to wait for daybreak, the captain grabbed his small fishing net and was trying his luck from the boat.
He caught few fish that was grilled and taken with juice, some of the supplies were shared among ourselves just to keep everyone awake.
We share life experiences, talked about BCH, shared the best moments we had on the platform all night. The discussion went on and on, we all got carried away and it was daybreak already.
At daybreak, everywhere was calm and cold. There was fog on the water surface and we couldn't see things further, is that a sign of winter knocking???
We already had our sweaters on, we sat close to share body heat and the condition wasn't affecting us that much.
We were hoping for the rescue boat and it eventually came around, the rescue team leader said they searched everywhere last night and we were nowhere to be found.
We narrated everything that happened, they apologized and promise to make it up to us. They started transferring us into the bigger boat they brought along aside from the rescue boat. It was bigger and very much better, it looks like a cruise boat.
I guess the transport agency brought it just to apologize for what we went through the night.
Flat steel was laid across both edges of the boat, so we climbed to the big boat one after the other. The damaged boat wasn't still, the wave was slightly shaking it, and when it got to my turn to cross.
I was scared to cross but I believed that if @nheng1118 could cross it, I should do that easily. It was just six steps from one boat to the other, simple right???
I was about to take the third step when I noticed a fin moving fast towards the boat but I tried to be calm.
I took another step only for me to look back and @LykeLyca screamed, "watch out George, there is a shark".
My heart jumped off me and my fourth step saw me fell straight into the water but to my greatest surprise, I didn't land in the water.
I landed on my Sofa, I rolled to the floor with fear. How is that even possible?
Looking around, I saw my bag pack and the supplies I went to get. My phone was plugged and it looked like I have been dreaming all this well.
I didn't believe it, it was like something took me from the middle of the ocean to the house. Everything looked so real, I was trying to put pictures together.
My phone rang, and it happened to be an international number.
I picked up and it was @Olasquare. He said "hey George, what's up with you? We are leaving the port for the island already, I was speechless.
Does that mean I have been sleeping for the past 8hrs, I just wanted to take a short nap before leaving home for the airport and I didn't know I was gone for so long.
It was too late for me to join them but what's going to happen to the rest of the people going on vacation if the dream comes true??? I better get praying now for God's protection for them.
Two hours later, I saw a Telegram message popped up while I was preparing cereal.
The notification made me drop my bowl of milk, it was @Maryjacy . She sent a picture of the same dolphin and the welcome dance, the next minute was a notification of @McYusuf dropping his phone while capturing an image.
I knew immediately that, the dream was about coming to reality. I am scared, do I tell them or just remain silent now to avoid any panic?
I am really worried about it.
I tried making this scary but it didn't work out very well. Thanks for reading.
So intensing! Hahaha. My chill personality there was different in real life haha thank God it's @Maryjacy 's dream hahaha lol thanks for adventure bro ! 😁
