Aren't they human like us?
I didn't have the intention of writing today, I have been down with headaches but I just couldn't take my mind off the things I have seen so far online today.
For some days now, I have seen people dragging some celebrities on the internet based on relationship affairs. It has become a habit for a lot of us to criticize celebrities whenever they make blunders, some people even go to the extent of judging them.
It is funny how we are quick to condemn celebrities for every mistake they make whereas we are doing worse things than they are doing. I am not defending their actions but expecting them to live a perfect life is unfair because they are human like us and the only difference between us is the fame, you definitely can't understand how they feel until you step into their shoes.
Is it a crime to be famous? These people are bound to make mistakes and as a matter of fact, we do more shits than they do but we aren't bothered because we don't have the fame for us to be dragged around on social media.
I have seen people having multiple lovers at a time, I have seen people who aren't taking responsibility as parents, I have seen people who live exotic lifestyles while abandoning their parents to suffer, and I have seen completely fake people but these things aren't a problem until a celebrity commits them and we enjoy dragging them left to right.
They also have blood running in their veins, they have emotions too, and they can be good or bad just like anyone of us, criticizing them shouldn't be the only thing we can do for them. We place too much expectation on mere humans like us, many of them end up making mistakes while trying to please you guys.
Haven't you heard the song titled "Kwaku the traveler" by black sheriff, the chorus is something that should make us think twice before criticizing fellow humans. Some things are terrible, murder, rape, and many others are completely terrible things that must be taken seriously by the law. If everyone's life is a videotape that can be played back for the world to see, many will live in shame for the rest of their lives so why do have this extreme energy to criticize or condemn these people?
Everyone has their flaws and we don't have to go crazy about someone else mistake, we have to stop the act of setting too many expectations on people because they are celebrities. A guy said that he is disappointed with what these celebrities are doing, I asked why and he said that "they are role models to many people".
Your parents have been happily married for 25 years, you didn't take them as a role model for your relationship. You decided to take a celebrity who is just one year into a marriage as a role model, and when his or her home gets scattered, you will start getting mad about them because of the disappointment.
Criticizing or condemning people whether celebrities or not is a wrong to do, we must understand the fact that nobody is above mistakes. If their act requires to be condemned, some authorities can handle that. Using a pain reliever for someone else's problem isn't a wise thing to do.
They are also human which simply means they can make mistakes too
