Do you know how important the word "thank you" is? Do you know how many people that you have hurt when you refuse to tell them thank you? You are surprised I said hurt? I am correct, some people need you to say thank you after they have rendered help to you and if you refuse to say it, they feel hurt and decide not to help some other time, while some people don't even care about you saying thank you, they just help and move on. But is it nice not to say thank you? Not all, there is a Yoruba saying that goes thus;
"Eni ba dupe to ni, ari emi gba lola", meaning " someone that says thank you today, will surely get another help tomorrow"
The word thank you is a powerful word that does a lot of things in the heart of someone when they do render help to people.
Let me remind you of the meaning of thank you even though I know you are familiar with it. Many are familiar with it but doesn't know the real meaning, they just see it as a normal word everyone uses which makes it looks meaningless when even they say it.
Thank you is a word that is used to show that you are grateful to somebody for something they have done.
Or
Is a polite way of accepting something that somebody has offered you........from Oxford Dictionary.
I love the second definition because of the word "polite". Some thank you are not thank you because some people say it rudely and have abused the word. Thank you are supposed to come from the bottom of our heart and should come with a smile when saying it, not by frowning your face as if you are fighting with the person.
Many people do laugh at me whenever I am on a call with someone, saying thank you to the person and I am trying to prostrate as if the person is right before me π π π π . It's not as if I am forced to do it, it only comes naturally to me and it is what I have been thought ever since I was small. I will always prostrate to elderly people to tell them thank you, this shows how grateful I am with my whole heart. I also laugh at myself too whenever I think about it, but is a good habit that I have cultivated.
At little things
We should always say thank you for every little thing we receive, some people are fond of not saying thank you for little things, they always have It in mind that after all, it is just little. They always want to say thank you whenever something huge is done to them which is wrong. It is totally wrong of you to have it in mind that I will only say thank you when something huge is done to you.
I know of someone who will always say thank you for every little thing if you give him #10 in Nigeria money which is just a little cent in a dollar, just to buy pure water, he can prostrate to tell you thank you, even the person that does the help will feel embarrass π π π because the help is just too small but he appreciates it. This habit of his is always making people help him because he is always grateful for little things.
A quick hint:
Thank you is a technique or stylish way of asking for more help.
The instance I will use to back up this hint is very simple and we all can testify to it. Whenever someone receives a huge upvote from Sir @MarcDeMesel, the person will be very happy and the next article of the person will be all about thanking him, and by doing that, Sir Marc will go again to upvote that article hugely with some dollars in BCH. Now tell me, is the hint real or not? It is and I will have to stop here by advising us to always say " thank you" to any kind of help we receive be it little or big. A polite thank you with a smile and not the one that you will frown your face as if they force you to say it π π .
Before I end this, the example above remind me of something which is about Sir Marc, we all know his present state and the things he is passing through, have you prayed for him today and days before? If not, let's pray for him and wish him to be freed from the so-called police.
Thank you for doing this and thank you for reading, I really appreciate it, God bless.
