It's okay To “Not Be Okay"

We all have this ideal of becoming perfect in life, yet this ideal existence does not exist entirely because everyone will experience grief, despair, discomfort, and anguish at some point. We see a perfect existence as one in which we are not evaluated by others, there is no backstabbing, and we effortlessly achieve our goals.

What happens when we are not okay?....what happens when the notion of a perfect life is shattered?... What transpires when we are at our downward moment filled with negative emotional impressions?.... I know people will convey answers and opinions that they would pretend as if everything is alright even when someone tries to help us out..........When we bluff that everything is alright meanwhile we are going through a lot, that's when we will neglect to acknowledge to find solutions to our dilemmas. This idea of trying to convince people emerges because we don't want to damage the image of the beautiful existence we've created in our minds, and as a result of our anxiety, we fail to affirm what is needed to be done.

The perfect life people portray or imitate on social media doesn't exist at all, everyone pretends to have a perfect or ideal life and due to this motive people tend to live in the orientation of life which they are not meant to be just because they believe the lies of perfect life existing..........I'm sure most of us have gone through some stages in life whereby we were going through a lot of difficulties and obstacles but we never for once tried to let people ( families and friends) around us perceive it just because of the fear of being judged or sense of you consumed in fear and for that reasons we tend to fake our smiles and the same time be friendly just to avoid unnecessary dramas.

Here comes the reality of how “IT IS OKAY, NOT TO BE OKAY ".... The harsh reality of life is that we all have responsibility including our financial life, social life, marital life, emotional life, physical life, spiritual life, and all these are just for one person to handle and the problem is that we have our limitations, breaking point, and saturation point and for us to handle all these we all need supports but they can't be fully provided unless we revolt our way through all these responsibilities.

When things aren't going as planned, there are a few statements you can make to yourself that have worked wonders for me and that I've continued to use as long as I've been alive:

  • It's okay to feel burned out

  • It's okay to cry when everything looks terrible

  • It's okay to feel insecure

  • It's okay to feel bad after you failed the first time because another opportunity will surely come.

  • It's okay to be annoyed with yourself

  • It's okay to lose control of yourself at some point in this life.

  • It's okay to step back sometimes and have to take better reason on what you are attempting

  • It's okay to lose sometimes because what you might be working towards to achieve is not meant for you.

  • It's okay to lose friends in this journey called life because they might not be your real friends in the first place.

  • Everything is temporary and if we miss, lose, forfeit anything it's okay.

It's mutual to feel this way and sometimes you feel guilty for things you have no influence over. Sometimes I use all these okay declarations and nothing still changes but I make sure I never suppress my emotions for society and when you always open up whenever someone asks whether you're okay or not, there is a big possibility of you developing good and genuine relationship from such conversation but not in all cases because some might use it against us and that's another shortcoming of opening up to someone.

When things aren't going well, it's an indication that we're heading in the wrong course, which is why it's critical to take a step back and evaluate what you've been doing. When things are bad, turn to your friends and family for support, and if the problem seems insurmountable, remember that our creator, the Almighty God, is always nearby, willing to listen, and no problem is too large for him to handle. Open up to him, and you will notice changes with time.

Thanks for reading 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Reality slap us on the face, this is the harsh yet comforting truth of reality, ironic isn't it? That we know that it is okay to not be okay, it's good to just feel things and feel our down days. We are humans and it's normal for us to feel that way.

Yes you are right. It's okay not to be okay. I remember when I watch a series similar that the title is similar to yours. Stop hiding how are you feeling inside and it is okay. Nothing to be ashamed of.
