The topic we are going to discuss today is about the people who ride on public transportation units selling everything from candy, lollipops to creams, menthol, in short, a wide variety of items. Others sing, rap improvised verses, play an instrument or simply ask for money because they have a sick family member, because they can't buy medicine or they don't have enough to buy food, we see them from young to old.

Everyone's speech is very similar, let's start with the candy and lollipop sellers, they usually come with a bag of candy, their respective mask on, but when the promotion starts, they take off the mask and it starts like this:

Salesman: Well-mannered people say good morning, who gives me a good morning? Good morning...

Users: Good morning

Salesman: Thank you for your good morning. First of all, thank God. Who says Amen?

Users: Amen

Salesman: I am sorry for taking up your time, I was in prison and I have found my way, I have 2 children to support and I go out to get my bread every day, Amen.

Users: Amen

Salesman: It is better to be getting on the buses to sell, than to be robbing with a knife, you don't know when you can be killed, Amen.

Users: Amen

Salesman: Don't give me a bad face, all I want is for you to help me to give my children something to eat. Amen

Users: Amen

Salesman: Well, today I bring you a promotion of delicious and tasty candies, filled with chocolate, Amen?

Users: Amen

Salesman: One for 200, three for 500 and seven for 1000 Bolivar, Amen.

Users: Amen

Salesman: Without further ado, I will go to each one of your seats so that you can take advantage of this delicious promotion. Amen.

Users: Amen

Salesman: Well, God bless all of you who collaborated and those who did not collaborate as well. Amen

Users: Amen.

In this way, salespersons are coming up whose speeches vary, some are more religious than others, that is, they say a verse from the Bible, interpret it in their own way and then proceed to sell the product. In this first case, it is known as psycho-assault, they make us feel harassed when he says that he was in prison that he prefers to beg for alms and not to steal, I am not interested in knowing if you were in prison, your product is good, then dedicate yourself to make a good promotion. In fact, with that input I don't buy from you.

There are several that bother me and I feel offended. One of them is a man who promotes an evangelical church, I must clarify that I have nothing against other religions, I am bothered by the attitude of this person, because after giving his initial speech like everyone else, instead of promoting his product, he directly attacks the Catholic Church, we are clear that many Catholic representatives have not acted correctly, but they have been sanctioned. We must not get stuck in the past, we must continue to look forward and try to be better people every day. Well, after this gentleman dictates his speech, you come to promote your product and pretend that I buy it, after having offended the church to which I belong, for me he is not a good salesman.

Let's go with the rappers, this is a musical genre that I don't like, I don't have anything against rappers either, we suppose that we live in a country where everyone has freedom of expression, you can try to live from your music. These young people, they have several verses learned, they say they are improvised verses, but they are the same verses with different people, what I mean, they go through the aisle of the bus saying a verse to each person depending on the color of their hair, their clothes, it is assumed that from there they make the composition, what bothers me is that they try to humiliate you with their verse if you do not pay attention, understand it "I do not like your music".

Thanks for coming this far, there are still some other forms of marketing within public transport, I hope you liked it, you can participate by leaving a comment, if where you live things like this happen. Happy day

The salesmen that I don't like are those that pass by during the whole trip from Puerto la Cruz to Cumana, because they spend the whole trip shouting and making you do things you don't want to do, like hugging your seat mate, shaking hands or kissing him, I understand that this is seen as "something normal", but in the middle of a pandemic the least I want is to hug or kiss a stranger, especially if another stranger asks me to do it. It is really annoying and uncomfortable

They can't force you to do something you don't want, especially if it's for you to buy something from them.

Everyone looks for ways to promote their business. But it should be done appropriately

It's a common sight in buses here too that there are vendors who sell mostly food and drinks. Some would preach and ask for donations but those are not really accepted that much.

The main products sold here are sweets and candies.

It's a shame that some people can't get decent jobs and resort psycho-assault means. We have them here in the Philippines too..

It is very unfortunate this situation, once I heard a young man say that he would go to Colombia, because there selling candy on the buses he earns in dollars, but he must have thought about the payment of residence and services, the services in Colombia are very high, in Venezuela almost nobody pays.

That is their talent we can't denied that they are so unique from others. Just focusing on the rapper imagine how he use his talent and making money it's kind of smart right.

Unfortunately, talent is being lost, because musical studies are expensive, our economic situation is critical, we have one of the lowest salaries in the world. The basic salary is 7.0 Bs/month (1.5 $) and public transportation costs 1.0 Bs. I have heard young people who sing very well, they deserve to be better placed. Thanks for commenting

Yes that true if we are entering that studies , some cannot afford of it cause of small wages or income. But is does not the end you can continue that by your own.

Of course there are things like these in my country nigeria I do experience these in public boss especially drugs sellers they usually advertise there market on the bus I haven't witnessed a rapper like that singing in the bus . I am max hoping to be your friend

Welcome Officialrosh, selling drugs is more complicated, the candy sellers would not allow it because they would not let them sell on the buses. There are people who have a lot of artistic talent, who unfortunately get lost because they don't improve their technique, singing they just use it to get money to support themselves.

Lol it's quite common these days. It's up to the passengers to buy any. But that Amen thing from passengers doesn't happen often you know. Haha.

Sometimes when we're hungry while traveling those bus sellers really are a blessing. So I am okay with having them around depending on what they sell.

And using religion can be irksome and doing the guilt trip thing too but unless somebody tells them to stop it they will keep doing it.

What is happening is that these evangelical religions have been taking over a lot of space, there is practically one church per community, they take worship to the prisons, they are broadcasting in the municipal market, in the center of the city, on Sunday afternoons, they put on shows with very powerful sound equipment, which can be heard everywhere. In these cults you hear Amen at every moment, that's why the sellers use this word and many people of the transport answer, as many times as they say it. Thank you for commenting

Oh here we don't answer to any bus vendor like that. Even those who just preach. We tolerate them or just ignore when they are on the bus/jeepney.

Commonly happened this kind of vending i buses and jeepneys. There are selling their products like hot corn, candies, fried siopao, and more. I usually buy candies because it cools my mouth a bit.

I understand the need for people, it is a way to get income, what I don't think is right is that they use religion to achieve their goals. Thank you for participating and enjoy your candy. ;)

It's been a long long while that I haven't had a ride with the public transpo. But I think we also have those here and the one's that I don't like are the one's that uses their religion just to get some money from the people

I totally agree, it's as if they learned it on the same place, I really don't think they are religious, they just use it to make their sales.

In our country, those bus vendors doesn't need to give Bible verses or any flowery words, they directly shout inside the bus who wants to buy their products and foods. Usually, it was a pasalubong that they sell and some passengers buy it since the food is truly delicious and one of a kind. There are also people who entered inside the bus while the passengers are waiting, they gonna spread the word of God and later on give a envelope with a printed word donation.

Here most if not all, always use the word of God, some use it in a threatening way forcing people to buy. Thank you for your participation

The same thing is happening here. This is already a bad habit, and it is the bus drivers who are responsible for accepting this outrage towards us.

Agreed, it is very annoying, although I understand that they need to sell and that way they get good sales, but they abuse people.
