Hello, everyone, I bring you good tidings again, today we would be talking about prayer!! Do you believe in prayer? Do you think prayer works? How often do you pray? What does prayer do? What kind of prayer are we all to pray?
All these are interesting question, there are many religions out there and prayer is one of the common things that all religion do, no matter the religion, they all pray that is, there is a supernatural being somewhere that listen to all of our prayers. Now if you believe there is a supernatural being who listens to all our prayers, what should be a common prayer all religions should always pray about?
Do you believe in prayer?
For me, yes I do believe in prayer, prayer is the master key that opens any closed door, this might be hard to comprehend, but the things of the spirit are always hard to understand, and why is that? It is because prayer is a thing of the spirit. If other religions are reading this and they pray, I'm sure they would also agree with me.
Do prayer works?
Yes prayer work, I would like to talk about an experience that I would never forget and this happened while I was a kid, back when I was still very young, just in primary school, primary 3 to be précised, I do get bullied because I was the shortest in my class, felt like I wasn’t growing, though my dad isn’t tall, neither is my mom. One day I got back from school, went on my knees, and talked to God telling him to increase my height, I did that as a kid, I was desperate, I didn’t even bother to know if my prayer was answered or not, in primary 6, I became the tallest guy in the class, I became taller than my mom and dad, I was taller than my siblings and cousins, and people started wondering where I got my height from, some said it must be from the gene of my grandparent, but I know it was God that answered my prayer, I couldn’t tell them what I did, because I was also surprised myself how I became tall and I was moved to junior secondary school because the teachers said I was too tall for my class. So yes, prayer works.
How often do you pray?
As a Christian, I pray every opportunity I get, in the shower, on the bed, in the exam hall, on the bus, everywhere, as far my spirit ask me to pray, I will pray, and I know of Islamic religion also, they don’t joke with their prayer time, and there is a specific time they pray without missing it.
What does prayer do?
Like I said before, prayer is the master key that opens every closed door, there are many things prayer does, it increases our faith, it helps our request to be answered, it brings us closer to our maker. There are a lot of things prayer does, you can add yours to the comment section.
What kind of prayer are we all expected to pray?
This brings us back to the main topic of the article, what kind of prayer are we all expected to pray irrespective of our religion, now that you know prayer is real and it works, and this is a common thing most religions have in common, I believe our prayer should be more focus on those who don’t have the power to pray, who are there that I talk about, these are the helpless ones, the ones that have lost their home due to one disaster or the other, the ones that can't afford to eat three square meal a day, the ones that have to walk miles just to get water to drink. The world we live in has all these kinds of people in it, if you are in your comfort zone, try praying for those homeless people, pray for those that don’t have food to eat, pray for the less privileged. This should be a common prayer for all religions.
