Hello guys! How are you doing? It's Saturday and the weather is a bit gloomy and it's affecting my mind that it doesn't want to work.
Since it doesn't want to work I just watched videos on youtube until I find something that will motivate me to write and that's when I came across this video that inspires me to write.
Here is the link if you want to watch it.
She is Lizzie Velasquez and she was born with this very very rare syndrome that prevents her from gaining weight (I envy her for that because she can eat anything at any time without gaining weight). And I think, I remember I saw that video of her way way back that tagged her to be the "most ugliest woman" in the world.
She may be tagged to be the "most ugliest woman" in the world but after watching her talk on Tedx I find her to be one of the most beautiful women in the world.
I admire her for how she uses all the negativity and all the bullying she encounters in life to become who is today. I admire how she turns things around and creates her own definitions of what she defines as beauty and happiness. I admire how her parents raised her to become the beautiful woman she is today and truly if you know who you are inside it will radiate into your physical appearance.
Her parents raised her like a normal kid and look like she receives all the love and support that a child can get. She's funny and full of life. No, actually she's way funnier and full of life than a normal person could be. She is so charismatic and full of positive energy that when you listen to her she'll win you in a heartbeat.
In her talk with Tedx, she shared how she defines herself. How she uses the people who told her that she cannot do stuff, how she works her butt off and do whatever she can do to make herself better. How she did not let the negative things around her define who she is. How she turns them around and uses them as a ladder to climb up to her goals.
And I thought if Lizzie can do it, I'm sure we can all do it too. We just need to decide to ourselves what we want and how we are going to get it. If she can use all those negativity around her to motivate her to climb up that ladder why can't we do it? Her life is harder than what we are having, but she was able to do what she wanted to do and now she is enjoying the life that she wanted. She told herself that she wanted to be a motivational speaker, an author, a degree holder, a family of her own, and her own career. Imagine at the age of 28, she's now a motivational speaker, was able to publish two books, and is a degree holder. She's way better than normal people who are doing nothing. Let her be our inspiration, and let's start using all the negativity around us to push us to do much better than what we are doing now.
Let us not allow the outside forces, the negativity, our physical appearance, or how people treat us to define us. Let us all be like Lizzie who lives bravely and have a beautiful outlook in life on overcoming obstacles.
