September 24, 2022:
I overate last night because I couldn't stop taking a bite of the delightful street foods at Myeongdong and in grilling the pork belly at the Korean Barbeque Restaurant we dined in so nature called me too early to dispose of the toxins that are inside my stomach. After flushing it all out, I felt relieved and said, "Success!"
It was around 5:30 am when I couldn't go back to sleep so I just sat in front of the window of our room that is giving an amusing view of the City of Seoul. I can't help but admire the magical feeling of witnessing it right before my naked eyes. I took a photo of the sunrise and posted it on my noise.cash account.
When my cousin woke up, we prepared some tea to drink and ordered breakfast from the Aria Buffet Restaurant as we preferred to just eat inside our room.
After eating, we immediately took a bath, fixed ourselves, getting ready to go out to have a little adventure, and spot the K-drama filming locations that are just around the area to live our K-drama dream. I'm ready to find my Oppa!
Since we don't want to experience too much hassle finding the exact locations and in commuting, we booked a car that offers tour services. When we were about to go out of the hotel, our driver is already waiting for us. Then we hopped in and were ready to go.
Where are we going first? Who's the ultimate Oppa we want to see first?
It was exactly 8 am when we left the hotel and the driver started the car's engine. Too much excitement is overflowing as we headed to our first destination. Every time we pass on a beautiful spot on our way, we would bring out our gadgets and take a photo to freeze the moment.
After more than an hour of travel, we arrived at Jumunjin Beach. We were speechless when we saw the blue breakwater and the same spot where Eun Tak summoned Kim Shin.
Because we wanted to recreate the exact scene, we rented a red scarf and buckwheat flower bouquet from the vendors and posed as if we're summoning Mr. Goblin. We took a lot of shots just to capture the moment perfectly. There were other tourists waiting for their turn so we had to move out when we already had a lot of photos. Then we walked around the area to buy some souvenirs.
After enjoying the view and feeling the Goblin vibe, we went back to the car and instructed the driver on where we are going next. Let's eat some chicken!
It's almost lunchtime and since we want to refill the energy we lost, the driver brought us to the Jageun Maeul, a restaurant that does not only serve fried chicken but also a variety of Korean food.
That's right! We are going to eat lunch here at the famous Bok Chicken in Weightlifting Fairy: Kim Bok Joo.
The restaurant was filled with Bok Joo's posters from the entrance to the inside. Since we wanted to feel the drama's vibe, we chose to seat at the table where Bok Joo would usually eat with her friends.
We ordered authentic Korean cuisine, Kimchijjigae, Bacon Cheese Bap, and Pajeon, and some banchan or side dishes such as gimbap and tteokbokki. We also ordered the fried chicken that is famous in the drama. I am not a fan of spicy food but these were worth my tongue getting burned because of too much spice.
We spent almost an hour enjoying our orders and filling our tummies. After eating, we took a lot of photos around the restaurant, posing from one place to another, taking turns with my cousin.
When we had enough of the Swag couple vibe already, we get ready to go to the next destination.
And after an hour of travel again, we arrived here at Nami Island. I didn't get to watch the Winter Sonata drama that made this tourist spot popular, but it is also on my bucket list to visit this jaw-dropping location. And here we are!
We couldn't help but take a lot of photos of the beautiful tree lanes, and enjoy the moment as we walk around the riverside and woodlands.
We arrived in Korea during the Autumn season so we were lucky to enjoy the spectacular fall foliage across Nami Island. We took a lot of photos as a remembrance of this magical moment.
It was almost 4 in the afternoon when we saw a couple eating the take-out food they ordered from Subway sandwich restaurant, which is almost present on all of the Korean dramas I have watched. We heard our stomachs roar a little so we went back to the car and informed the driver that we wanted to eat a sandwich at the nearest Subway outlet.
While ordering, the scenes from my favorite Korean dramas are flashing in my mind. I remembered a few events from Goblin where Grim Reaper is enjoying his meal, and also Eun Tak and Kim Shin. I also recall the moment where Soo Hyun and Jin Hyuk ate noodles in Encounter. Dr. Kang (Hye Kyo) also used to have scenes at Subway in Descendants of the Sun. I couldn't help but daydream that it's Lee Dam from My Roommate is a Gumiho is the one preparing our orders. I got back to my senses when the staff already handed me the sandwiches.
We took our orders and enjoyed the delightful snack we have while still reminiscing some of the K-dramas we have already watched. Finally, we get to taste this famous sandwich those characters from the dramas used to eat.
After eating and constantly traveling, it's almost 7 in the evening when we arrived at our last destination for this day, and we chose to visit the Everland Amusement Park. We were hoping we would get to see Park Seo Joon just roaming around the area, or get to meet our own Lee Young Joon.
This is the place where the Park-Park couple (Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young) had their unofficial first date in the drama What's Wrong With Secretary Kim. We decided to visit this in the evening to feel the romantic vibe. However, we were only filled with envy and bitterness when there were a lot of couples roaming around the area.
We can't help but wonder, "Where's our own date? Eodie Issnayo, Oppa?"
It was around 9 pm when we decided to end the tour and go back to Westin Chosun Seoul hotel.
This is just basically what I want to do on my 2nd day in South Korea, to visit some of the filming locations of the K-dramas I have already watched. π€π€£
See you at the concert tomorrow!
