It's time to recap my time on Read.cash. I registered on the platform more than four months ago. But at the start, I didn't spend much time here. I had focused all my attention on making noise. Time passed, and one day I read an article by @JonicaBradley about freedom. That article was her first writing prompt. And exactly a month ago, I got inspired and wrote my article on the topic. I wrote that article not to publish anything random but from my heart. What does Freedom mean to me? I enjoyed writing it so much that I thought it was worth taking a closer look at Read.cash and giving me a chance to write.
Initially, I'd thought of writing two articles per week. It takes me some time time to write, mainly because I'm doing it in English. I got what I set out to do, and I got over it. Since that article I'd published a month ago, I've written 11 articles without counting this one. So on average, I can say that I've published 3 articles per week.
But the opportunity I wanted to give me was not just writing. I wanted to achieve an engagement with the platform like the one I have with Noise. But here, it's needed to invest more time to be able to interact. You have to read the contents to leave comments that truly make sense and value the work of others.
During this month, I've read wonderful content, commented, upvoted, and been engaged with the community. I've also turned the wheel by giving back to the community a good part of what I've received from the generosity of my dear readers and sponsors.
My Sponsors
In a month, I've managed to get 8 sponsors. I thank them all very much. Because if they want to see their logo on my page, I'm not doing it as badly as Rusty seems to be determined to think.
At the same time, I'm sponsoring other content creators. I have given 7 sponsorships, and I have one sent that I hope will be approved soon.
Rusty
@TheRandomRewarder has been the big absentee in all this history. My feelings about this, I've already advanced days ago in my article, How do I feel about Read.cash?. And at the end of this one, I'll talk a little more about it.
My Tops
Numbers have always been my thing, and the engineer's mind in me always arises. And of course, I've made a table with my articles' performance. But I've decided not to publish it. Instead, I will better make a list of my tops.
My favorite article is Living in the extra-inning About the most cherished lesson I got from my father.
My top viewed article Five days in the darkness A chronicle of my experience during the blackout in Venezuela in March 2019.
My top commented article (in terms of # of commenters) I'm a proud mama What can I said about this. He is my boy and will always be.
My top tipped article Five days in the darkness
My top tipper @fantagira My dear witch friend, I can't thank you enough.
My top upvoters @Bloghound and @TengoLoTodo have been there in almost every article during this month. Thank you both!
My top commenter @TengoLoTodo for a month has read and commented in a meaningful way all the articles I've posted except for one. I thank you with all my heart!
I also have some other loyal readers who read my articles and always comment on them. Thanks to you all for motivating me to keep writing!
Paying it forward to the community
Since day one of this last month, I've made one of my objectives to achieve a commitment with the community. And part of that commitment is sharing our tips. In my humble opinion, It's the best way to allow the community to grow. And I've decided to pay forward to the community as much as I can afford to give back. And as long as Rusty doesn't show up, it will be pretty much everything I get. And while I'd like to be even higher on the list, I'm happy to be in the top 100 tippers. As of this writing, I am in tip position #79. And the $9.96 represents 92.99% of what my articles have generated in upvotes.
And now what
I can't right now make a goal of reaching a certain amount of BCH, and I don't want to mingle my goals here for now with Noise.cash's. So one of my goals for this second month on Read.cash will be to grow my audience. In the last two weeks, my readers have grown very little. This may be because I tend to interact with the same people all the time, and in that sense, I won't stop doing it. But I must organize myself better to discover more users and new content every day.
My second goal will be to earn a badge. I've read for the first time about the badge in an article by @Princessbusayo. And later, I've read the post of @TengoLoTodo telling about his. So if I want one, that means I'll have to write more to be able to give double what I've given this month.
Final thoughts and the little dilemma
Despite my engagement with Read.cash and how glad I am about being so rewarded by the community. Some questions surge by the fact that Rusty never shows up. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong? Could it be that my content isn't good enough? And that raises a dilemma for me.
During this month, I've rediscovered blogging after many years without writing. Nowadays, writing makes me flow. But it's also true that I don't have unlimited time and can't afford to write just for fun.
So my dilemma is should I look at other platforms that I can write on? At home, the hubby and Ro think that I should expand my options. I've been a bit reluctant because I love the Read.cash community, and writing elsewhere would mean less time to do it here. But obviously, I have to give myself some deadlines and move on. What do you think? Any of you write on other platforms too?
Thank you, dear readers!
To all my wonderful sponsors, thank you all!
All images are mine.
Until next time. :)
