There’s no manual in raising a child

Hello readers, How did your Tuesday go, hope it wasn't so stressful and tiring, lol, well, i hope you are relaxing while reading my article, so you can be able to understand every bit of it, without wasting much time, let’s get started.

PS: This article is based on personal thoughts and what I have observe, this article aren’t about mocking anyone on how they raise their kids, lines might be crossed but I think i have already apologize in advanced.

The death of late Sylvester, a 12 years old boy who was bullied, beaten, and given a chemical to drink in boarding school is still shaking everywhere, a recent interview of his father was trending a few days ago, the father stated that the owner of the school hasn’t reached out to him yet and the last time the principal of the school reach out to him, was not to console him but to asked him why he posted a video of the boy when he was in the hospital with swollen lips, that the boy was fine and he posted a video like that is very bad, I started to wonder that how can someone be in mourning and all the principal could say is that the father shouldn’t have posted that video.

Link to the video interview

The boy is gone now and no amount of tears can bring him back, but all they can do now is to seek justice for young Sylvester and make sure that the perpetrators are brought to justice, even if they are still kids, according to @Olasquare article on this issue, he talked about how rich people always get away with things like this and my country people easily forgets and their mind can be taken away from it in few weeks or months for now and everyone will just forget that things like this ever happened, which is good if everyone involves in Sylvester death aren’t brought to justice, they are going to continue bullying other kids and something worst than this might occur in the future if time is not taken.

A few days ago @Princessbusayo wrote an article on the same boy and how parents should be observant of their kids, on her article, she mentions how her Dad use to check on her and her siblings in school and they will always feel that their Dad is being overprotective, her dad also checks on her elder sister who stays with her grandparents from time to time, though they are felt that their dad still see them as kids, they love it because its rare to see parents checking on their kids from time to time.

@HappyBoy also wrote a short post on noise about it and there was something that caught my attention about an actress condemning those that was protesting for justice to be served, I still can't believe that someone will want to use this opportunity to gain followers on social media, like WTF, if he was to be her kid, would she be talking that trash, of course, there are two possibilities to this though, either the parents of children that committed the crime paid her to discourage the public and turn their face from the matter because she's a celebrity and when she says a thing, bloggers will carry it on their blogs or she's just said it to draw people attention towards her so she can join the trend.

This afternoon when I checked my Instagram to know more updates about the crime and how it was going, I saw a post, when one celebrity was condemning boarding school and she said that all her children went to school from home (day to day class)

Then another celebrity replied to her comment and said that there's no manual in raising a child

which is absolutely true, there's no manual in raising a child to become a good child, there are some children that only attend day to day school and they are still in the cult, doing all kinds of things that they are not supposed to be doing.

Let's be observant of our kids, especially when they start saying they don't want to go to a place they usually go to before, young Sylvester was trying to tell the parents that they should change his school but the parents paid deaf ears to him, the parents also said that Sylvester used to be playful and jovial, but when he returned home for holiday they notice he wasn't as before, but I believed they never bothered to investigate on the matter or they might have called the teacher to ask why did Sylvester change all of a sudden and the teacher might have told the parents one or two things that are normal for a kid to start keeping things to his or her self (this conversation is just my thoughts).

Some parents have left their duty as a parent to the teachers, due to them being occupied by work always, I don't have any boarding school experience because I attended a public school, but one thing I can say that all schools have in common is parents living the responsibility of their kids to a teacher, most teachers only look after your kids when  you put them on payroll, but if you aren't paying them for looking after your child, they will just be telling you that the child is fine but they won't look after the child, now imagine 50 parent’s handling their children to a single teacher to look after them, how do you think the teacher is going to save anyone of them for being bullied by the rest?.

I think will have to share this article in two because it’s getting too long and I don’t want it to be boring.

The system is just the problem, and I feel this problem is really not a country or continent thingy, but it happens all of the world.

A lot of schools are out there where bullying exist. The recent one that happened is just one out of a thousand, just that it got exposed.

I attended a boarding school, bullying cannot stop but with regular enlightened, seminars and through some measures in place, it can only be reduced.

That's just it. If this one isn't taken care of, the bullying will increase.

I had read @princess article about this just few days ago. I watched the link you shared and it was indeed a heartbreaking. Yes, there is no manual in raising kids, I just hope that what happened to this boy wont happened anymore. If I had a kid, I would never send him/her in a boarding school

You nailed it buddy..we parents should be observant over any changes we see in our kids and always investigate on what caused the sudden change.we shouldn't turn deaf ears to our children but try to listen to thier own part and consider it.

That's just the truth, there's no fixed guideline on how to raise a child and what works for one person won't work for the other. The problem with most parents is that they like to copy others, and when they see that a particular method worked for one they will want to apply it to their own kids but they forget that everyone is not the same

😅😅Maybe they thought that is only 5+5 that equals 10 They should also know that 7+3 also equals 10 and many numbers also.

You're right to say there's no manual in training a child, but whatsoever route you choose to take as a parent, there are some basics that are universal, lose sight of those and you've failed as a parent

I love the reply that Miss Mary gave. People have been blaming the parents of the deceased for some days now not minding the emotional trauma they are ;passing through.

That's just Nigeria, some will lose their loved one or something so dear to them, instead of people keeping their running mouth shut, they will start blaming the parents, even when Dban’j lost his son some years back, some people just keep blaming them on the death of their son.
