Having a subject Contemporary World gives me a courage to continue my study, I prefer to understand my minor subjects rather than my majors since its easier for me to understand and it's all about the world that's why it got my interest. We are currently on topic Globalization, it discuss how globalization change the world, how it unite every countries to make alliance, having conferences to talk about issues in every country, globalization also helps to prevent miscommunication and conflicts between countries, it gives a chance for each country to showcase what they've got, through these leaders of each country can make an agreement when it comes to exchanging goods and services, helping each other in times of needs.
It's good to see that this world is changing due to globalization rather before that every nations are fighting each other due to conflicts like territory rivalry. As of today there are still country which claiming others land like what China doing to West Philippine Sea however they didn't leave even though the international Court decide that Philippines owned that island. Other than China there are also countries around west Philippine Sea claiming that its part of their land that's that's they are fighting for it and defend the land if someone stepped or invade like what I saw on tiktok. I don't know if it's legit but there are couple of Chinese vessels on Sea territory of Indonesia, they gave warning to Chinese authority to leave however they don't want that's why they give warning shots.
It shows that Indonesia doesn't afraid to fight China just to defend their territory. I hope Philippines can also do that however we are not ready to fight due to lack of weapons and vessels. Anyway seems like we are getting away on our topic, we gonna discuss the north and south divides. Are you familiar with this term? It talks about the division of every country in this world. According to my research, those countries in North are those fully developed countries and belong to first world. It means they are fully industrialized and their economy is stable. They are the number one exporter of raw materials around the globe and can be consider as one of the riches. The way of life in North are normal and luxurious, people doesn't need to complain on their job due to high salary, they have also advance technologies that really helps to improve their daily life and it gives them an advantage to produce more products to be exported around the globe.
In that reason, their economy will become larger and larger. While in South those are the countries that belong to Third world or developing countries. This countries are more on agricultural like Africa, Latin America, some part of Asia like Philippines. Countries in South divide are not developed and suffering from different political and economical problems. One of the problems that South facing is poverty and corruption, these two are twin cause the reason why people are suffering from poverty due to corrupt officials that stealing the money for the people. Those money that serve for building infrastructure and funds for wellbeing of citizen however in blink of the eye the moneygine for a second. You'll be surprise that a bridge made by the government was worth 1 Billion peso but the materials used are easy to collapse.
In my country Philippines, we are currently on developing stage which means we are starting to race with developed countries when it comes to economy. Philippines is located on region which any crops can grow, in fact Philippines is number one importer of vegetables and fruits before however everything is out of hand that's the reason why Philippines became poor country together with its people. Due to globalization, Philippines starting to recover the economy when new president was elected on 2016 however when pandemic hits, the economy of Philippines drops drastically that we need to borrow funds from International Monetary Fund and World Bank. It means Philippine debt added and we are having difficulty to pay debt worth trillion of dollars. That's the reason why we need a good leader to help this country recover and make Philippines at the top again. I was dreaming a country that belong to first world and the poverty will gone forever.
