I opened and entered the door of my dream but I left.
Good day buds !
Allow me to introduce myself a little before I will gonna share my first ever article. You can call me BC, short for BreadChamp since I happened to become a breadwinner in our family. Please enjoy reading! π
Maybe you are wondering what will be this article all about and of why it was entitled "SME". Lemme share to you my one month experience as an SME.
The SME (Subject Matter Expert) provides the knowledge and expertise in a specific subject, business area, or technical area for a project.
I am a call center agent. In BPO, we have this position called SME. I could still clearly remember my first week of taking calls, I was superdupah GG ,like "gulong-gulo na talaga HAHAHAHA" since I haven't master yet the basic processes. Those days, I love watching all the SMEs assigned in our team. I was so much impressed to the point that I was aiming to become one of them in the future. We were trained to become great customer service representatives. I was really worried during my training because I know how bad my English is. Lol. Good thing we have SMEs.
Moving forward, June 4,2021, I celebrated my second anniversary in my first BPO industry last month. So you see, a super bobo in English like me reached 2 years and counting. Lol. Even myself can't believe I surpassed all the challenges in handling irate, elderly and not so tech savvy customers.
Few days after my 2nd anniversary, I was asked if I was willing to become an SME because my scores will be qualified as mentioned by my supervisor, and after reading the message notification, I was like " OMG ! REALLY ? YES ! YES ! YES ! I WOULD LOVE TO BECOME AN SME ! " I told my supervisor how I dreamed this special dream haha and now yey ! What a blessing ! After a week of saying "YES" to the opportunity offered, I was informed to report on site because the senior manager approved the application sent by my immediate supervisor.
June 22,2021, my first day ! Yay! I took the elevator and stopped at 6th floor. I opened the door without hesitation ! I entered the room full of raising hands - asking for assistance. My first day was full of fun. It was so fulfilling to get the dream you once wish upon a time. There were tons of handsome and beautiful faces behind the mask they're wearing. The newly endorsed agents reminded me of my GG days. There was just a difference between then and now. Before, we can tambay in one area and sampal every katabi while chitchatting our gen friends. Unlike today, we are practicing social distancing so everyone must keep distance even when asking assistance from us. But still, I was so happy and I enjoyed my job as an SME. I become close to my partner supervisor's team in just a couple hours and also to other agents from another supervisors.

Here are some of my photos also on site. Mirror selfie π€³β€οΈ
I love taking selfies ! That is why ! HAHAHAHA
Now, let us talk about why I left. You will be wondering again of what would be the reason of leaving and giving up.
Our payday is every 10th and 25th of the month. It was my second week on site and the payslip was ready for viewing. After checking my total pay to receive, I was down, like super down down to the ground. I was aware that I can no longer do overtime once endorsed. Maybe because of too much excitement to become an SME, I forgot to think that my pay will be lessen since I can no longer generate OT hours for extra pay. Few days before our payday, I approached my senior manager in our department and begged if there's a way for us SMEs to have an overtime. Unfortunately, I was told that it is impossible to happen since it was declared already. So to cut the story short, I asked my operation manager if I could go back to my previous position wherein I will be taking calls again inorder to generate OT hours. Luckily, they allow me to go back. I explained to them the main reason. It was not just about the money, it's about my responsibility as a breadwinner of our family. The ending of this story might be sad for some but trust me I was so happy in my one month of being an SME.
This was the last photo taken before leaving.
I never regretted my decision of entering and leaving the door of opportunity that the world once opened for me. I was happy that atleast I was able to experience the life in my dreamland.
I hope you have fun reading my article! Enjoy the rest of the day buds ! π

Welcome to read.cash BreadChamp. π₯³ I love your name. Actually when I read your name I was thinking of Jollibee Champ. I want to eat it again. Hahaha.
I do not want to say that it is downside of getting promoted. I was also on the management team in a food industry before and there were really times that I wanted to be a server as there is no pressure. Unlike in being a manager/supervisor wherein we are not entitled for an OT, some even do not have tips and lastly it is so hard to take a leave right away not unless someone will relieve you. I agree with TengLoTodo. In short, it is just the title that is pleasing to our ears. Hahaha.
Bakit nga ba ako napaenglish? Hahaha.
