What's the matter with a large head? In my parts of the world , there's this popular insultive term that is often used on a little boy or a young man. It's quite common for little boy to be addressed by an offensive phrase "**Big** **Head**", when ever he had done something wrong. **Thank** **you** 🙏 Sometimes, the person in question might obviously possess a big head and he'd definitely be hurt whenever he is being body shamed even though he didn't do anything wrong. During childhood, whenever my Lil bro makes a fails to understand an assignment after I was obviously tired of repeating myself, I'd stretch an ear and scream in our native language, " there's absolutely nothing in this your big head". Lol. Just this morning, I was having a little chitchat with a friend of mine. We talked about valentine which also lead us to talk about romantic life. She told me about a guy who asked her out but she turned him down. She claimed that she could never date a guy with such a "big head". Now, I knew the guy she was talking about, and it was not as if he was deformed or the head was extremely large. Infact when you see him for the first time, the first thing that strikes you is his friendly and jovial nature. You wouldn't even notice the size of the head ( Afterall, every one have a head and almost all heads are similar in shape), so what's the fuss about dating someone who had a big head . Anyway, we all have different preferences . Maybe I would call the guy and advice him to cut his head off so that my friend would agree to date him, or what do you think? Honestly speaking, I don't know when someone has a large or small head, as long as the owner ain't complaining that his head is too big for his neck to carry . By the way God has created everyone in the most perfect mould. So, I'm quite surprised that some people would taunt anyone that they believed to have a "big head". There has been a myth going around ever since I was a child that people who had larger heads tends to be more intelligent than others. I don't know how true this is but I have seen a few cases that proved it. A boy could be taunted since from childhood till adulthood about having a larger head . This could affect his confidence and make him develop a low self-esteem even though he's obviously more intelligent than the people who make jest of him. Many years ago when I was a kid in elementary school. There was this brilliant boy in class called Isaac. Isaac obviously had a " large head", so, he was made the butt of most jokes by the bullies in class, who in turn were "empty-headed' . They would constantly laugh at his unusual shape of head and they called him silly names. Some called him "headmaster", "headwind" and the rest. This is really hurt Isaac and made him emotional sometimes. When the name-calling became too much, he started putting on a school hat in order to make his head less noticeable to his bullies. Still, everynow and then, some mischievous ones among them would snatch the cap from his head and burst into a heavy laughter. One day, something strange happened and Isaac became determined to prove to the other boys that his head was not as big as they all thought. It actually happened after school hours and the rest of us learnt about the incident the next day. The boys challenged isaac to stick out his head between the protective iron bars that were usually built on an open window. Isaac was totally oblivious that he was about to enter a trap that the other boys had carefully planned. Isaac readily accepted the challenge. He went into the classroom and moved towards the window as the other boys kept looking at him from the outside. All eyes were on him and he probably thought that this was the moment to put all of them to shame. With great effort, he forcefully pushed his head in the spaces between the iron bars of the window till it went through up to the neck region. On seeing this, the other boys started clapping and hailing isaac . A wide grin appeared across Isaac's face as he was proud of himself for accomplishing such an achievement. He remained like that for some seconds. Then it was time to pull the head out, atleast he had now proven to the whole world that his head was not that large. Isaac spent half an hour trying to pull out his head from the iron bars but to no avail. By this time, the other boys were already rolling on the floor with heavy laughter . Isaac cried and cried for help but they all continued to laugh at him. The more he cried, the more they laughed. Fortunately, a passer-by was attracted into the school compound by the noises. Immediately, he tried to help isacc but isaac was obviously in pains, the more he tried to pull out the head away from the window, the more Isaac screamed. Thank God ,a carpenter was nearby and he provided an hacksaw that was used to rip the iron bars before Isaac could be saved. The incident was reported in school the next day. All the boys that were involved were punished, including Isaac ( for being a fool) . Later on, the principal called Isaac into his office and they both talked for a long time. I don't think Isaac will ever forget that experience till the end of his days. Sometimes, when I look at the mirror especially when making my hair, I usually think that I have a large head too, Lol. But I'm not bothered at all, because alot of persons with smaller head size are not alive today. ******************************* Thank you for staying with me ♥️ ♥️

Dear Bilqees, I'm so sorry for Isaac. It is very bad to make fun of others for their appearance. However, people with big heads are usually smarter than other people. And I don't think that's a bad thing at all. It was a very bad and bitter experience for Isaac in those days...
Sure dear, I have observed that too that folks nwitu larger head tend to have alot if stuffs up there . They should proud and focus on their gift more than society pressures.
I was saddened by the story of your friend Isaac.. Bullying is a very bad thing, it leaves a bad and unforgettable effect. It is up to the parents at home to improve the education of their children and teach them how to love and respect others . We should not bully others, especially the way they look, in the end none of us choose what to look like. I hope Isaac learned a lesson after this. In the end, the size of the head does not matter what matters is the knowledge it contains
Exactly dear Lara. I believe that Isaac have definitely learnt from his mistakes. Thanks for dropping by
Haha. I have a big head too o. But in the word of Tyrion Lannister *"never forget what you are, the rest of the world would not. Wear it as a shield, and it can never be used against you"*. So before you call me big head, I have already told you my head is big. So you saying it again would be unnecessary.
This is true, we must first accept our selves first .. so you have a "big head"? , Well this is another testament to the fact that people with larger head are intellectually outstanding 😁
Hehehe. You flatter me 😊
Me too I don't why they call us big head o😂 in reality my head is not even as big as the average ones. But then who knows? Anyways we will pray for reduction of head sizes 🤣🤣
Ah, no need to pray for reduction o because it won't work, as you grow older, the more your head increase in size . Haha
🤣 I know right
These days "big head" is used more like a compliment than an insult especially for two people that like each other.. I call my best friend bug head a lot...
Yea. Like the way I compliment my younger bro.
Sometimes bullies make people do some foolish things like Isaac did probably because he felt tired being bullied. I wonder why people would even care if a head is big or small, lol! I mean, seriously? But you are right, we do have different preferences :)
Exactly friend, I think it's a psychological thing.. As we grow older, we would definitely care less of what others think about us as we would learn more about life
That shows that is not every challenge we should accept, sometimes we have to walk pass it n
Exactly dear.. week have to learn how to apply wisdom as we could never satisfy everyone
I have never seen a person with a big head. But I have seen people with big ears. I knew a boy with big ears who was called "Dumbo". It is sad that some people make fun of other people because of their physical appearance.
Really sad ma'am... I for one feel very bad for someone who's been taunted for something they couldn't help
I haven't seen a person whom I can say he/she has a big head. For babies, there's a lot but here we called it intelligent hahha
That's the might over he too. Big headed people are often tagged as intelligent folks
I hated this name back then in secondary school because I actually do have a big head 😂 and some of the teachers back then will always defend me and say "you people are calling him big head, you're forgetting that his brain is also big" (I was their favourite back then because I am very intelligent). I had a very badmouth back then and can insult very well, but my weakness has always been that bighead, but everything settled when I hit puberty, I grew taller and the rest of my body caught up with my head, and it also helped that I changed my hairstyle (I used to carry skin cut which made my head very pronounced)
This was exactly my younger brother's case too. His head was quite bigger when he was a child. Infact the head use to spoil picture sometimes. But as he grew older, the head now seem to be in the right proportion to his body.
God oooo! Isaac did that to prove his head small. Wonders shall never end. This kinda cruise is very common high schools, we enjoyed the flow then laughing over someone's head and funny enough I was having a big head too🤣(yeah WAS). One thing is sure, a time would come when the head will not be seen a big anymore. When growth, maturity and small money steps in. I haven't seen my big head for a while now🤣
Lol... 💰 covers all flaws I guess
How interesting, here in the UK it is pea head! Similar thing and is an insult especially with kids to other kids. I feel for Isaac though!
I felt for him too... he has already learnt not to care about what people think or say about him thru the hard way
