Food Business could be a Good Idea
Those days while still in high school, there's this lady that sells snacks whose little shop was just opposite our school gate. She also had a little fridge where she stores soft drinks fo sales. She had a show glass where she would display her tasty snacks in a most appealing manner.
Gentlemen and ladies, there's no way any student would pass by her shop without stopping to buy a snack. Infact 70 percent of her buyers would ask for another one and bottle of soft drink after getting a taste of one of her very delicious snack.
Heck! She doesn't even have a shop where she pay rent. She operates her business under the shade of two big tress and customers get to enjoy her delicacies while sitting on the long and comfortable benches under the tree. That woman was really making money because her business was on the road. And guess what, her snacks were very cheap!
Unlike other types of businesses, food business requires very little advertising. Customers are very willing to advertise your business through word of mouth provided your foods are good. Let me give you an example:
I have never seen an advert of Domino's Pizza of KFC but I would always like to visit these food brands because of what I have heard people say about their experience. And this is why such businesses could continue to grow for years to come.
On the flip side, food business could be very delicate. Just one negative experience by a customer could influence the opinions and thoughts of hundreds of other customers or potential customers as family and friends would definitely get to hear about it.
The mistake might be as simple as microwaving a a snack before serving a customer. That's why as a food business operator, one have to always have an important communication skill with his/her customers.
Never fail to ask them about the meals, and if they enjoyed them. It encourages your customers to leave wonderful beautiful compliments. And if there a they were not satisfied, make sure that you improve in your delivery and promise them a better experience next time.
Even walk-in restaurant could still get a steady stream of customers with little marketing, as far as you are located in an area that have with a large pedestrian traffic in the heart of a city. What's more amazing is that you could expand your business space or bracnches and increase your staff strength to cater for need feeding needs of the ever growing population, so long as you keep maintaining a Gold standard.
Recently I heard the story of a man who started out three years ago by selling loaves of bread by the roadside. Today he owns two big bakery and a popular eatery in the city. I wasn't surprised at all, afterall there's nobody that doesn't eat bread.
