A worker of Inequity

James uncle was a very rich man who was into several businesses. He was one of the few men in the state who was highly educated and also very prosperous in business . Ever since James lost his father some 15years ago, he had been the one taking care of him and his younger siblings. Uncle Peter made sure that his late brother's children never lacked anything.

James had just graduated as a lawyer from a prestigious university in the UK, all thanks to uncle Peter who had made this dream come true.

Seven months after he returned to Nigeria, James took his fiancee, Amara to see his uncle. James had told his fiancee alot about this benevolent uncle and she couldn't just wait to meet him in person.

The couples were well entertained by the house servants as Uncle Peter asked Amara some common questions and she told him more about herself. They all laughed and had a good time.

After that day, James noticed some changes in Amara. She no longer calls or text him as often as she does and whenever he asks her if something was wrong, she gets angry and begins to scream at him. Even when James would try to impress or make her happy, she would just go cold.

Well, James didn't think much about this matter until one day he visited Amara at her apartment. Lo and behold, He met uncle Peter there!

Infact, Amara was sitting comfortably on his uncle's thighs when he walked in.

"What's.... happening....here?" James asked like someone who was gasping for breath as his heart began to thump violently against his ribs.

He blinked his eyes repeatedly.. " This can't be real", he thought faintly.

Uncle Peter started to say something but Amara quickly gestured at him to remain silent.

"Leave him to me, I know how to handle him", she said calmly.

"Well James, you have already seen what you were not supposed to see, and I think there's nothing more to explain. Now leave my house because I no longer have time for small boys anymore. I have decided to run in the big league". Amara said in a most emotionless stone.

She dismissed James the way a foreman would dismiss a labourer whose services were no longer needed.

Again, uncle Peter began to say something.

"Amara and I have decided to get married. Send me your bank details as soon as you can, I'd like to compensate you with a huge sum of money". He said firmly.

"For Godsake, what's happening....". James thought that this must be a dream,the worst nightmare he has ever experienced. He was already sweating profusely and he begged the heavens to wake him up from this terrible dream.

"Oh, don't look so hurt james. Peter is only your uncle, it's not as if you share thesame mother with him, so need to feel so bad about this". Amara said in a jeering tone and kissed uncle Peter on the side of his face.

James felt his legs go weak under him, he suddenly felt dizzy but still couldn't say a word.

The last thing he heard before drifting into unconsciousness was the scoffing laughter from Amara.
