Volleyball Lady Spikers Reunion Batch 2011-2017
Mabuhay! What a rainy and cold Sunday. It seems like a low pressure area is behind this nippy weather.
Nevertheless, I was able to attend several events in the entire day. However, I failed to go in church for our Sunday service earlier this morning due to the heavy rain.
Actually, I already made up my mind not to show up in our reunion which was scheduled today at exactly 1 in the afternoon because of the Location. Mind you guys, the spot where the said event supposed to be held was in Langan River and since the weather was pretty bad the occurrence of flashflood is possible. As a result, we decided to celebrate it instead in my former co-teammate's house, her name was Annie (the organizer, initiator, and sponsor of our reunion).
She works at Japan for 5 years and she decided to return home here in the Philippines for the meantime because she needs to take her 3 year old son together with them in Japan this coming March. And I understand her well because she left her two months old child just to work abroad sacrificing everything just to give her son a brighter future.
We went straight to her home (we are neighbors by the way), and I found myself down in the dumps knowing that only few of us attended the first ever reunion. We have left no choice but to comprehend in their situations since they already have their own families to take care of, some of them are working, they also lived far away from us, and due to the bad weather as well.
Our former coaches didn't missed the chance to join with us even just for a short period of time despite of their busy schedules. Our strong bond hasn't change and there's no awkwardness at all. All we did was to eat, and chat, harking back the good old days and all the wonderful moments, as well as those enjoyable volleyball training journey. My two coaches teased me for being the "last woman standing" (ako na lang kasi ang walang anak 😆 at hindi kasal, sad). Honestly, having my own family is one of my greatest desires in life, but I believe that there will be a perfect time for that. As of now, watching them happy with everything they could call their own was more than enough for me. Their adorable kids resembles them a lot and guess what they are all girls except for Annie who gave birth to a handsome boy. Our coaches told them that there mini me's will going to be the next volleyball players in the near future, and we can't wait to witness it.
I'm glad to see them again playing new yet significant roles in life. From being a student-athlete volleyball players to hands-on wives and mothers. What a nostalgic feeling.
That would be all for tonight because I am so damn tired and shivering in the cold now. Have a great and blast-filled week ahead. Thanks for dropping by.
