Covid-19 is a virus that started in late 2019 in China. Since then, it has spread rapidly around the world. Let's look at the statistics of those infected and died from this virus worldwide:

One country is successfully resisting this dangerous virus. Taiwan has the lowest mortality rate of Covid-19 in the world. Let's look at the statistics:

source: https://www.cdc.gov.tw/En

Today, there are only 7 COVID-19 deaths in Taiwan. 7 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, since the beginning of this year. How one country, with 23-25 million inhabitants and a high population density (one-meter distance is far more challenging here) managed to save its population not only from virus, but also from isolation, restaurants, and schools closing. I will remind you that Taiwan is very close to China, where it all began.

Today we put our name in the face of this great success. It is Audrey Tang, Taiwan's minister of digital technology.

She is 38 years old, she was born in the body of a boy and her name at birth was Autrijus. She has an incredibly high IQ, at the age of 8 she learned to code, while at the age of 14 she left school to start her own start-up company at the age of 16. At 24 he became Audrey, and at 33 she retired. She worked as a hacker and in 2016 she became very engaged in the ranks of activist organizations that fought against China's interference in Taiwan's democracy.

She is the first transgender minister. She led a generation of young people in the IT sector and became the Minister of New Technologies. Her, as well as the government's goal, is to involve all citizens in building the society in which they live. Inclusiveness. She imposes the ideas of post-gender and anarchic conservatism, very intriguing and progressive ideas. She turned against trolls, who, she believes, only destroy society and do not lead to its unification.

Dr. Li Wenliang first talked about a new virus circulating and lung attack in December 2019 and the Taiwanese government took this very seriously. They introduced testing for all Wuhan passengers than introduced mandatory masks in public space very quickly, masks were free, they tracked down contacts efficiently, while infected people had to stay home and download the app that checked on them. Non-compliance with quarantine was severely punishable, 6 months in prison or a € 30.000 fine.

Audrey Tang has therefore participated in these proposals, as well as in the development of technologies that will be able to track the sick. She also advocated making various jokes on the Internet that influenced people on social networks not to believe in conspiracy theories and not to buy too many things in shops. She uses the Internet the way we should all do it. For the sake of uniting one nation and suppressing everything that is harmful to mental and physical health.

Some would characterize these measures as a dictatorship. However, Taiwan counts today only 7 dead from the COVID-19. Freedom of speech and movement is crucial in today's democracies in the West, that is why the strict measures are often strongly criticized. Despite the fact that sooner or later, almost all countries enhanced them. While in the same West, faith in the government is declining, in Taiwan it has been achieved exactly the opposite, and the tools we have today have been used for the right purposes.

  • The Taiwanese government, including the minister Andrey Tang, has shown supreme responsibility to its citizens in the fight against the virus.

  • What can other countries learn from the example of Taiwan?

  • Has any other country fought the virus so successfully?

This story is amazing! First of all, her life was one big adventure. She did great things. I think that it is time to stop looking who is woman, who is man, who is transgender. People should be appreciated because they are good. Not because they are woman or man.

Now if only more countries were more open to the idea that government officials do mpt need to be just men or women and hopefully they would be more open to the ideas the younger generation has than forcing the really old ones that honestly need so mant amendments already

The Internet is flooded with conspiracy theories, so many people do not believe in this virus, resulting in great infection and mortality. Taiwan has implemented a penal policy and education, which, with control measures, has given excellent results.

I am afraid of viruses and economic crisis. The world is no longer a carefree place to live.

Fear is for a reason, situations like this can bring a lot of unfavorable situations. First, health is at stake. Second, personal income can be reduced or lost, which in turn makes survival more difficult.

I agree with what you said. But I also think that first there should be an adequate and good leader, someone who is professional and has knowledge, then people would listen.

We are a people who do not respect anything. Only high penalties might bring us to order.

If we had experts like this, I believe they would deserve the respect of the people. Do you think our expert team is doing its job well?

I don't think they are doing the right thing ... but I also think that if they had done something different, there would have been a group that did not respect them. I am apolitical, I just think that we are a people who know everything. if I was in the team, I would immediately set boundaries and no one would be able to enter without testing. Anyone who has someone abroad thinks differently ..... that's what I'm talking about.

People abide and listen. They cooperate and they have experts working on it. Everything is teamwork.

Teamwork is great, but for teamwork to exist, we need to have a leader. We need to have an expert in an adequate field. One or more of them, but to have them. They would give expert advice and recommendations on how to organize and act in this situation. When the people see that we have a leader who is professional and does his job well, then the people will listen to the instructions and advocate for the common good.

And I wish we had people like this. Also, I believe we have smart people, only the system does not allow them to break through and show their knowledge.

We also need an expert like this, she would solve our problem with the man, and our people could learn something from her. Great article

I'm not scared of the virus, but it's only scared that it can lead to an economic crisis.

Such crisis situations often have a negative impact on the economy. Poor people are most affected. People may lose their jobs, not be able to afford food and health care. The state should take care of such situations. However, we ourselves must spend and save money rationally. Also, we need to help close people get through the crisis.
