A Writer Inspired
The fact that you are on this platform means you write articles. And because you write articles irrespective of the frequency at which you do it, you are a writer. Everyone here would agree to the fact that writing is no easy task, thinking about WHAT to write about something, HOW to write about it so it attracts the attention of other readers and even having a good title for what you have written can be daunting and mentally challenging.
Oftentimes, as I read through articles written by other people, I can’t help but think about what could have inspired them to write what it is they wrote about. While some writers don’t usually talk about it, some others like myself usually write what ticked the writer in us. And as I read through articles, it is not unusual to see writers talk about writers block.
Looking back at the past three weeks or so, and all the articles I had written, it is strange to think about the places or things that had inspired me to write some of them. I remember my article Freedom had been inspired by a layer bird that was out of her cage when I was in the hall picking eggs on crates. Not to mention The Money Equilibrium that was inspired by the building I had seen the day my classmates and I arrived at our apartment of residence during the course of our Field Practical Training. I have not even talked about articles that were I was inspired to write by random conversations I had with my classmates at random times.
I must admit that it is one thing to be inspired, and another to find all the words that are enough to relay the intended message to your readers in the most attractive way. What I am saying in essence is that as a writer, there are a lot of brainwork involved in the art of writing. This is why I can’t help but feel great admiration for people who are consistently writing and posting articles on daily basis.
I stumbled on a quote that agrees with this article, and I remember citing it on one of my older articles. For those who might have missed it, I will cite it here again. It goes:
“One of the most interesting parts of writing is that you can think about it all of the time. Writers get their ideas all day and all night long, not just when they sit at their writing tables. No one will see your thoughts, but inside you head you can always wonder and ponder. “Hmmm…that’s strange.” Or, “I might write about that later.” When you write, you notice things that other people do not. Artists and scientists do this too. To create, one must observe”
– Edgardo H. Pangilinan
I believe we agree with every of the above words in italics. And there are even times I’ll pick up my phone to write and I am just blank, with nothing. But I see that when I go out to watch things, indulge people in conversations, you get inspired. Sometimes, I get more than one topics to write about, and because I had not written it down when it came, I end up forgetting what it was.
That’s one of what I had always found amusing: getting a topic to write about, and in my head a l the words are there to put down (at least 600 words) and I think about how to write it and the message to pass across to other readers, but if I don’t write down the topic at that moment, I end up forgetting everything, even all the points I want to write about. But, if I do write the topic down, I don’t forget anything isn’t it? That only speaks about how volatile inspirations can be.
In conclusion, observe every thing you can, as you never know when the inspiration might come, and in what form. But, unlike me, don’t forget to write it or save the topic somewhere, so you don’t forget it like me. And to every writer reading this, may your pen never run dry and the inspiration never cease to flow.
