Kind most of the time, I think. If you like coffee, then you can be my friend. If you like walks, long walks, then you are my soulmate.

Monkey attack. We have come at the end of our walk today when we saw this monkey. The neighbor who owns this was calling for them to secure their loose monkey. As she continued doing that, the monkey would snarl/hiss at her baring its teeth. Just when the owner was about to get to it, it approached the lady with the intent to attack and then the next thing we knew, the inevitable happened. It happened so fast. It managed to bite the lady's hand before the owner could grab hold of the monkey and when he did, the monkey still managed to bite the lady's leg before the owner eventually was able to pull it away from the lady. We then told the lady to wash the wound with soap and water and go to the nearby hospital. I hope the lady is okay.

East and west The sun rises in the east as we all know. This was my morning view earlier today. And the sun sets in the west. Same is true with the moon. This kind of view where the rays of the sun reaches out to the farthest part of the sky is a wonder to watch. It's almost the same sunrise the other day. I was supposed to share that too but I was unable to although I haven't captured it properly because my view was obstructed. I was late to start my walk. If I'm not mistaken, this can be observed more during the later part of the year. Don't quote me on that for I'm not sure. I may have to dig into my chest of piles of photos to make sure but that will take time. Anyway, the last photo was not in my plan to capture. I just so happen to at the right place at the right time and I happen to look at that direction while I was walking towards the park. Things don't reveal to us right away. We have to be patient. When I started my walk earlier, the sky was not that promising. It was clear. I can see the stars and the constellation. No cloud in sight. Or if there were clouds, they were not that noticeable then. I didn't expect that nature would display such splendor. Good thing I was at a clearing where I can vies the sunrise clearly. I did capture a 4-minute video but I haven't posted it yet. I'll probably edit that and fast forward it to create a time lapse. There were a few lessons/reminders that I have learned today: Sometimes we have to be early to capture the best things in life. We have to be patient for things will be better. It's all about timing. Don't rush. There is order in everything just like the cycle of day and night, sun and moon and stars. Change your perspective and you'll see there are other things in store for you. We have to exert effort if we want to achieve something. I wouldn't have witnessed this kind of sunrise if I didn't go out early and walked/hiked to the spot where I took these photos. We have to move to get to where we want to go. We have to be willing to change. I always say that nature teaches us a lot if we are observant enough, patient enough. I could go on and on and you might have other additional lessons to add too. Anyway, it's another day done again. The start of the week is upon us. I will be sleeping in a few but I will be visiting some of you. Lately, I have been suffering headache from mild to moderate. I think it's the lack of sleep or improper sleep. I have a lot to think about lately that I have to distract myself from it so I turn to social media. We all know that once you get to the point of scrolling and scrolling, you can't stop. It's addicting and that's a bad habit especially when you do it at night while in bed. So the lessons I have shared are like notes to self too. I have to be reminded all the time about patience and at the same time doing what needs to be done while waiting for the right time. We can't just sit around and wait for things to happen on their own. Am I contradicting myself? lol! I think I have to leave it at that.

@ARTicLEE

I took this in one of the venues for exams when I went for a walk early this morning. I'm not sure if it was nursing students who is taking exams. There was one venue I passed by. Students were already lined outside the school and it's not even 6:00 a.m. Some were holding posters and slogans to cheer for their peer taking the exam. That's one supportive way to show to your friends/relatives. I'm sure that will give them a boost in confidence. But then how about the others? I hope they cheer everyone instead. Last month until now there are ongoing licensure exams. I think it will last until next month. Good luck to all!

Come to the Creative City of Baguio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4z_xjujqPY Check the video I made about some arts at The Podium Hotel Baguio City. Subscribe to my channel too if you haven't. Feel free to share the video too. I have also published that in my hive account that you can check here. https://ecency.com/hive-168869/@leeart/xptsahyk I just saw someone's post in noise about her blog here and I was reminded that I haven't posted anything here yet. I was planning to do that earlier today after my walk but then when I came home, after having our breakfast, I said I will just take a nap but ended up sleeping the whole day lol! As what I have commented in someone's post, naps are one of the lies we tell to ourselves. It's just like snooze. Snooze will turn to more snoozes and hours more in bed. These are just some of the works of Bumbo Villanueva that you can see at The Podium's main lobby and the cafe's lobby where most of the art works can be found. The first sculpture is called "Ang Haring Langaw at si Kalabawawaw" (The Fly King and The Water Buffalo) and the second is called "The Enchanting Lyric of the Flute and the Crescent Horn." The first one was made of brass while the second was made of brass, cow's horn and wood. Whenever I visit exhibits such as this, I always ask myself "Why didn't I thought of that?" To be fair, I'm not an artist but just an admirer so I think that will give me a free pass. Do you like visiting art works? To those who are not artists, do you admire creative works like this? Because I can't afford to purchase any of these, all I can do is to share about them as a support. If you are interested in any of these, feel free to contact me and I will purchase them for you lol! I am looking forward to visit more of Ibag-iw Festival's exhibits and programs and share it here or in any other platforms. It has been a restful day so far. I'm looking forward to going for a morning walk again tomorrow. It's now close to 10 p.m. here so I have to say good night. The lead image was a photo I took during one of my previous walks. You can check it here. https://ecency.com/hive-151327/@leeart/fungi-friday-at-the-park-for-the-nth-time

In celebration of this years' Ibag-iw Creative Festival, here is just some of the creativeness you'll see when you visit the city https://ecency.com/hive-168869/@leeart/xptsahyk or here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4z_xjujqPY Don't forget to comment, like, share and subscribe :D This was taken at The Podium Hotel. There are more activities about this festival that you will see here in the city. Come and visit Baguio City, Philippines! The photo here was taken at SM upper basement where some artworks were also displayed. #art #ibag-iw #baguiocity #philippines

Thank you 503! Here's a mushroom for you lol! You can check more here https://ecency.com/hive-151327/@leeart/fungi-friday-at-the-park-for-the-nth-time It's the end of the work week for most and tomorrow is weekend. It would be another day to go hunting for mushrooms to post next week. I'm sure you have mushroom growing around you somewhere. Why not take photos of them and share it too? I have only been hunting at one of the parks here and there's not much to see. I think I'll try my luck in another park and hopefully find mushrooms there. I haven't been there in a while.

@ARTicLEE

It's already 1 p.m. and it's only now that I am here logging in and checking noise. It's a busy day earlier both with work and finding work lol! This photo was taken at the agency that we went to yesterday. These steels serve as railings and at the same wall. You are left to imagine how the picture looks without those railings. Sometimes in life there are blanks that we don't know how to fill but we would rather focus on what is and we can still pain a picture. How's your week so far? Ready for the weekend?

@ARTicLEE

Posted this photo as lead image to my read post. You can check it here https://read.cash/@ARTicLEE/cheesy-time-406aac42 I was in a taxi on my way to meet a friend. When we stopped at a crossing, it's when I took this picture. It was so hot today, I think the hottest I have felt in a long time. Note that I don't usually go out in the middle of the day. I usually go out early morning before the sun is up or in the afternoons. I do feel that it is already warm around 7 a.m. on my way back home from my walks. It was such a lovely weather still, minimal clouds in the sky. I imagine myself out in a trail somewhere enjoying nature.

@ARTicLEE

Cheesy time! That's the cheese bar that I had earlier today when I was at a cafe waiting for my friend. Jokes on me. I didn't ask the staff what it was. I thought all along it was oatmeal bar. I like cheese but I still prefer oatmeal bar. How did I end up there? I don't know where I mentioned that a friend of mine was coming to visit. When he reached out to me out of the blue asking for a place to stay and a car rent this month, I was thrilled! We have been friends for a long time, spent time together and worked in the same company although different department. We were buddies. Then he and his family migrated to another country. It has been eight years since the last time we saw each other. He told me that they will be here today so we met for lunch together with some of his family and in-laws. I thought he was with his family but turns out, it was only him this time. His wife and kids were here last July but unfortunately we had no time to meet. I was so pleased to see him getting fat (like me) and sporting a long hair, longer than mine lol! When I got to the restaurant, he was seated with his back to the entrance. I approached their table but I don't see anybody familiar but there was someone with long hair who didn't turn. Thinking they were not yet at the restaurant, I went out the restaurant and called him. He picked up and turned and that was the man who didn't turn when I approached their table. He's changed physically so I can't tell right away. Eight years is a long time. We had lunch and after that, he and I went down the parking lot looking for their car. We must have spent less than 10 minutes going around the lot looking for their car. I asked leading questions to hopefully narrow down our search. It turns out, he parked one floor down. I thought we were going to use the car but no. He just took something from the car and handed it to me. It was a jacket. I was surprised that it was a jacket. I was expecting a shirt for that was what he was asking me before. Still, I'm pleased and grateful. He was thoughtful enough to buy me a jacket that I could use these cold months. We had to leave his companions for he has to process his papers that he will need going back to his family. So I offered to accompany him there. I thought the office of the agency we are going was in a different location but I was wondering why the driver of the taxi we were in was bringing us out of the way. I thought at first he was taking the long route. It turns out, the agency was relocated and it was not in the place where I thought it would be. It took about 20 minutes or so for his papers to be done. Thankfully, there weren't that much clients. That's how I ended up eating that cheese bar and having coffee of course. While waiting for my friend to do his thing, I spent my time at the cafe within the building. Sadly, I couldn't spend more time with him anymore because duty calls so we parted ways. I even forgot to take photos with him! That was such a very limited time we had spent together. They had to go back home later on and spend the rest of his vacation back home. Their 3-hour drive to visit the city and process his papers was worth it for it is like hitting two birds with one stone. I just hope that next time we can spend more time together.

This was a screenshot from my Canva account. Thanks Canva! There will be more photo edits with you. I was doing some edit for this post https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@leeart/mirrors-mirrors-on-the-wall-for-reflections when I was prompted about by Canva about this achievement. I thought I designed more than that lol! Mostly what I edited there were used for my blogs. The post I made in hive was a #ThrowbackThursday. Weekend is waving once again. Didn't we just have a weekend the other day? It's hard to keep up with the pace of how days pass by so quickly sometimes. I hope you have a good one! Choose kindness!

@ARTicLEE

Of coins and chess - gamble and game It's supposed to be my third day with a friend but because duty calls, she has to cut short her stay and had to travel early today. Yesterday, we spent the rest of the afternoon in one of the parks here in the city, a place that she has not visited in a long time. We had fun taking photos. There were lots of "wishing wells" in the park. We were joking that this could be a lucrative business. Set up a wishing well anywhere and watch as people toss coins into it then you can collect later on. In one of the wells, there is a small well (I'm not sure if it was). You can see in the photo above at the right corner. A lot of coins are already around it. I tried shooting a coin in that well with no wish at all. I myself was surprised that the coin found its mark into the well. We were laughing about it especially that I didn't make any wish. We were asking ourselves if it is valid if you make a wish after you shoot the coin. Anyway, she then tried her luck but after three tries, she gave up. I have shared before that I have been here when the park opened after the renovations were done. There were actually new improvements being done in the park. Right now, the fee is minimal but the city is planning to raise that by as much as 400% and that's just for residents of the city and nearby places. Tourists will be charged higher. What I was eager to revisit was the greenhouse for succulents and cacti. It was the last stop that we went to. I like what they did with this - a chessboard of cactus complete with pieces. Would you dare make a move? That is a succulent/cacti heaven - filled with different kinds. In life we have to aim and fire or fire and aim and see what works for us. Life is a game of taking chances and opportunities. Of course we have take calculated risks. Then again we can't foresee the future so our move may either be bad one. However, we should not be disheartened. We have to make sacrifices. Because of the uncertainties in life, we can only learn from our mistakes, our losses, our failures. I am in search for a job right now and this is how I feel, firing and aiming, aiming and firing, gambling and taking chances. It's not easy especially when my financial resources are dwindling by the second but I know eventually I will get there. Just like what @HerBAE posted here, we have to keep going. We have to endure. https://read.cash/@HerBAE/endurance-e77861bc

@ARTicLEE

Second day with a friend. After meeting for lunch, we decided to visit Botanical Garden. It's good to visit tourist spots in your place once in a while and see what changes were done. A lot have changed since the last time my friend was here. We ended up taking lots of photos but I wonder how many of that will be posted online if we ever decide to. Sometimes we take photos because we like to capture things so we can appreciate them longer. If not for platforms like this, I would probably end up deleting photos that I took lol! Anyway, it was fun visiting the garden again. The only additional I saw there was a ramen house in front of the Korean Garden because there is no space at the Japanese Garden. My mind is so out of place these days. I feel like I am doing a lot but accomplishing nothing. What to do? lol!

@ARTicLEE

This is my Maya crypto portfolio. When Paymaya rebranded to Maya, they have added crypto. So I joined. This is only available here in the Philippines I think. The money I staked there were earned from the Maya missions. After you complete those missions, you are rewarded with some money and those are what I used to invest in some crypto. I forgot all about that and it was only the other day that I logged back in. Interesting that Polygon MATIC is the only one that's staying strong. The rest are down. Cardano ADA with the lowest. I hope I will remember to do check on the rewards Maya sends every now and then so I can add to these, probably staying with MATIC and USDT.

@ARTicLEE

Sometimes opportunities come through others I have made a post about this in my noise.app. You can check it here. https://noise.app/leeart/mkj3xrjp What I forgot to mention in that post is that I only grabbed this from my friend's post and edited it in Canva. Here is another edit from Canva. After almost 10 years, she was able to visit the city again and she took me out to dinner. I didn't expect that she will treat me. I was ready to pay for our food but she insisted. Who am I to resist, right? lol! We will still meet tomorrow so I told her it will be my turn to treat her. We went to a well-known restaurant in town which is Good Taste because she missed their food there especially their best-selling buttered chicken. We ended up discussing about work and she gave me a link where I can apply. I am sharing this to you too but unfortunately, this is open for US, Philippines and Canada for now. I'm not sure if what other countries is this available. Have you heard of SimplrFlex? If you do, how was it? https://www.simplrflex.com/ If you don't and wish to apply, then go for it. You just have to use laptop/desktop for it though. Also, open the website in Google Chrome. I was done with the application and it was easy enough. There are basic questions and tests that you have to undergo and your application will be reviewed. **BUT....** According to my friend, it took them three months before they received an email that they have been accepted. If this is something that you are interested about, go ahead and apply now and just look out for the email from the company. They do mention that it takes time for applications to be reviewed. Again, this is only available for US, Canada and Philippines. What is good about this is you can do the work any time, at your own pace. This is replying to tickets and you are paid per ticket resolved. Aside from that, she also mentioned about PayPal. I found out that working for them can be lucrative. They are generous in their compensation, bonuses and perks. That is another option. However, your application will have a higher chance if you know someone who works there who will back you up to speed up your application process. Unfortunately, for me, I don't know anyone. Do you know anyone who works for PayPal? Maybe you can refer me so I can apply? lol! Anyway, it's already late. I just dropped this post as I have just finished my application with SimplrFlex. It's now late here so I will be checking back with you later on. Time to rest for I have been having headache the whole day after I did my laundry. I did take a nap and drank coffee which were my only two remedies whenever I experienced one but it took so long to subside. There's still a slight ache right now thankfully. Good night for now. The lead image was from this post which was a report from my morning walk earlier today. https://ecency.com/hive-193552/@leeart/actifit-leeart-20221107t022535911z

@ARTicLEE

Literally feeling blessed. As some of you know, I'm currently looking for an employment. I was browsing my fb and saw a post from a friend. It was a video of foggy mountains and I am familiar with the place for it is here in our city. I messaged her right away and she replied that she is indeed here in the city so I invited her for coffee. We met and decided to have dinner instead. We talked about employment and possible work which I will be checking after this. She also paid for our dinner. Things are looking up. It's a reminder that let us do what we can but at the same time don't be stressed by it for everything will fall in the right places at the right time. How are you? What are you thankful for today?

@ARTicLEE

Yoghurt with bananas and strawberries. I know some of you likes yoghurt, plain, Greek, with or without fruits. There are two things here I don't like - yoghurt and strawberries. Honey was also served to add to this mix which I find not to sweet. It almost has that sour taste to it like that after taste when you drink lemon. My partner and a friend ordered this. I just had guyabano/a (sour soup shake). My friend who loves yoghurt didn't finish hers for she doesn't like the yoghurt that much. It's our first time here to eat in this part of Ili-Likha. This is an eccentric place to dine for there are tiny cafes here and there that served different food and drinks. It's a place for gastronomic adventure for sure. Sunday is about to end. How was your weekend going so far? If you haven't, go on and rate the noise.app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.noise

@ARTicLEE

Venting out on a hot day Don't mind me. Just enjoy the weather outside. It was too hot today. I think it may have been how it was the past few days but just that I did not feel it because I have been cooped up inside and when we went out, it was late in the afternoon and nighttime so it is cooler then. That photo above was taken by a friend who we didn't know was there at the same establishment that we had breakfast buffet. The last time we went there it was PHP100.00 less. It's not worth it going back there anymore. That's a steep increase and yet nothing was added at their menu. If anything, there were even less. However, in fairness to them, we cannot eat that much anymore. If ever they have added food, we might not be able to enjoy it anyway. There were some that I don't eat when we go there like cereals and macaroni salad. I also don't drink juice. I'd prefer brewed coffee and water. So anyway, when we arrived at the place, after choosing a table, we were then instructed to go ahead to the buffet area and get food and that's what we did. We didn't care about the diners lol! We are busy so no socializing for now. It was in the middle of our food that we noticed within the periphery of our eyes that someone was standing by our table and not going away so we were forced to look at this person and it was a friend of ours with her phone out taking photos of us lol! So that was a funny moment. I may have laughed way to loudly at that time of enlightenment. Our friend were having their breakfast too at another table which I actually passed earlier when I was on my way to our table. We were waiting for another common friend of ours but they were not able to wait for they have to leave a few minutes later. When our other friend arrived, we waited for her to finish eating before setting out and heading to the city center. Once done with her business, we then checked out another cafe. The lead image was taken from that. There we talked about work in general and how managing people can be stressful. There are those who despite signing contract, they still go against it thinking they will not be caught. When they were caught, they play the victim card, venting out in social media. The audacity! We could choose to stoop down at that level and do it in social media too but choose peace and free your mind from toxic people with attitude like that. They were caught yet they complain. They were the ones jeopardizing the company because they don't do their job because they are focused on the other job. Please don't be like them. If ever you will be employed, read and understand the contract or any contract for that matter before agreeing and signing it. I understand that we do what we have to do to survive especially if we are the breadwinner but that doesn't mean you will not think about the company you are working for. Be considerate. What if because you didn't do your job well because you are concentrating on the other job, the company had to close because they lost clients due to your negligence? You are not the only one in jeopardy but the company and every employee. When you work in a company that had been so lenient in your absences and always believe in your excuses and you are still being paid, then you come crying when you are caught using your family as reason, that's not valid at all. Better choose one company and give chance to others who are looking for employment to replace you in the other one where they will do the job required for them to do. It would be more acceptable if you are working on a different industry because that is what's stated in the contract. Yet, you go and be in the employ of a different company that do the same thing as what you do in the company you are currently employed. That's breach of contract. Again, be considerate. Do your job well. It's not about you but also the company and the your co-employees. If you can't do your job well, then better leave. This is just one of the topics we have talked about earlier and that alone is stressful enough to think. Anyway, there are opportunities out there waiting for us. We just have to arm ourselves with the right skill. Let's keep learning!

@ARTicLEE

This was taken early today beside the Athletic Bowl. I went for a morning walk and the clouds are nice to watch. You can check more here https://ecency.com/hive-193552/@leeart/actifit-leeart-20221105t111505933z I guess this is the effect of the storm Queenie. Good thing we haven't had that much rain. In reality, the clouds are not like that. Only when I applied filter did it gave the clouds warm color like that. I like it this way although the original is okay too. There's just so much content out there that we can't just judge right away until we know the whole story. A photo, a short clip does not give the real story yet we are too quick to judge. Give yourself peace. Avoid stress and toxicity. You have the choice.

@ARTicLEE

"How will you sustain your income?" No, this is not an advice. That was the question asked by my boss earlier today. As you know, we lost clients for they did not renew contract. Before COVID, we were already having issues with getting clients but not that bad. It just means lesser job for us but lesser pay. Then just this month we received the news that our clients did not renew their contract. I am not surprised. I think it is one of those things that is inevitable but we just don't like to acknowledge it - the elephant in the room. When my boss asked me that question earlier, it sort of hit me a different way. Realization sunk in and the gravity of the situation was realized. I answered I'm looking for another job which is true. I have been doing it for months already but still no luck. Anyway, since we were finished with work today (there are still some jobs available), me and some friends decided to go out for dinner. Don't worry. It was a treat so we agreed quickly to their invite. I posted some of that in my Actifit report. The lead image I used here was taken from that post. https://ecency.com/hive-193552/@leeart/actifit-leeart-20221103t124212220z By the way, if you are in Hive, you can download Actifit here and use the app when you go out for a walk or do some activities and make a report about it as a post. You can post that as a blog in Hive. https://actifit.io/signup?referrer=leeart You can choose where to post your report whether in Hive, Steemit or Blurt. I thought my report was only posted in Hive. Knowing the issue between Steemit and Hive, be careful where to post for there are those who will not curate your post and most probably ban you from curation rewards if you post both in Hive and Steemit/Blurt. So we met with friends for dinner. I didn't know there were couple of bars in that establishment. There is another one in another floor. Rm 601 has a promo every day where they serve unli pizza and beer every Friday. That was not our intention though but the restaurant. The food was just okay. It's not something we will be going back to though but would still give it another go if we have no choice. After our dinner, we then went home. During our brief walk, along the way, there were kids, most probably college students, already drunk and it's just past 7:30 p.m. Some were rowdy even. The area we passed by were near residences which are near universities. Anyway, I had to call it a night for now. I'll try to visit some of you if I can but most probably be going bed in a few.

@ARTicLEE

Now that All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are done, we can now do our Christmas preparations guilt free. This photo was taken yesterday coming from the DFA office. Read here https://read.cash/@ARTicLEE/i-thought-it-would-be-over-in-less-than-an-hour-67c0b267. Several years ago, the city decided to transfer the city's tree from the park to here. I wonder what will the city's tree will look like this year. Last year, a friend created the star on the top of the tree and it was wonderful to see - the tree, the star and everything else. It's a wonderful Thursday morning here, sun shining. I hope you have a great day ahead. Cheers!

I thought it would be over in less than an hour I like how the title rhymes. There you go. I did mention before that I applied for renewal of my passport. This is my second time to renew. This last passport I had was never used outside the country. My original appointment was supposedly October 31 but then it was declared a holiday so I was given the option to either go on November 11 or November 2. If November 2 will be declared a holiday again, then I would have to stick for November 11. This is usually the case because November 1 is a holiday and people are just coming back from vacation so naturally the next day is supposedly a rest day still to recuperate before going back to work. Thankfully or not, November 2 was not declared a holiday, which is today. My scheduled appointment was for the slot of 12:00-13:00. The day indicated in the email was wrong for it said Friday instead of Wednesday but I still went today. I started preparing an hour early because I was thinking of walking some within and around the mall for my blog. The DFA was located inside the mall so it was convenient. I arrived at the mall a few minutes after 11 and headed straight to the floor where I thought there was a computer shop. I got there and lo and behold, nothing. There was an information booth nearby and I inquired if there were still computer shops in the mall and I was informed there were none. My guess was due to pandemic and also it is no longer a lucrative business since almost everyone is already connected online through their devices. The worrier that I am, I frantically went out the mall in search for a shop to have some papers printed. I am supposed to print my application form and e-receipt because I already paid it online. Everything is done online these days. The shops around the mall's area were also gone. To save time, I went to the area near the universities and I was in luck for I found one shop that prints. It's pretty convenient too for they have wifi available. I was about to load so I could have data to connect to the web. Clients will just have to connect to their wifi and send to the shop's email what you want to print. Quick and easy. I checked my phone for the time and it was already 12:00 p.m. I underestimated the time. I quickly walked back to the mall and straight to the DFA where I then processed my passport. When I got there, we were required to photocopy our old passport. Good thing there was a photocopy area within the agency. From checking of application to processing, it was faster than I was expecting. It was on the last part where one had to be photographed and fingerprinted that there was a delay. It was there that my time was consumed the most. When it was my turn, during the fingerprinting process, I had to be asked by the officer to wipe my hands off because it was wet lol! When taking the photograph, you are shown how you look like whether you want to change the photo or not. What I noticed was that guys don't give a damn lol! Hair awry, shiny/oily face - don't care. It seems we have waited too long enough that we just want to get out of there. Even the officer was in a rush too so they can accommodate as many people as possible. What's important is that the information in your passport is accurate and correct. This photo was taken at a bank below the mall. I took this photo while waiting for my turn on the atm. Our rent is due so I have to withdraw some cash. There was a short line but I didn't mind. It was the last thing I needed to do anyway. I didn't go for a walk anymore because I was hungry and I have not eaten anything yet. I arrived home past 2:00 p.m. What I thought was a process that would take about an hour took about three hours but all is well that ends well. My new passport will be available for pick up on the 22nd. I hope I won't encounter any mishap with that. The lead image was taken from this post. This is my October I haven't done this in a while. The last time I made a report about my posts here was last May. Sounds like a long time ago. This time, I decided to make another report. I got inspired because I just finished writing my Hive Power Up Day/Power Up Month post. You can read it here and if you want to join, you still have some hours to join the Power Up Day if you have not yet before the challenge ends. https://leofinance.io/@leeart/november-hive-power-up-day-and-power-up-month Back to read. So far, I have managed to write 26 articles last month here in read. In terms of earnings, ***Careful what you wish for*** earned the most with $5.39 and ***Choices, choices and more choices*** was the least earner. I think that was the time that the site was down or probably I haven't engaged that much. That's what happens when you don't engage a lot here. You will earn less. ***Let's earn SHIB for free*** earned the most likes with 41 likes. ***How long can you go without your phone*** earned the most comments/replies with 62. Even surpassing the number of seen by 1 point. The most seen post was ***How things have changed*** with 67. I have earned a total of $69.30 from all these articles, 717 likes, 693 comments/replies and 1218 seen. However, my total takeaway from that is $20. The rest was distributed to you and reinvested to read. That gives me an average of $2.67 per article. That's a further decline from $5.53 per article last May. Last month, I averaged 23.12 likes, 22.35 comments/replies and 39.29 seen per article. I now have a total of 616 subscribers. Compared to last May, the last time I made a report, I had a total of 530 then. That's just a few more and I would have had an additional 100 in a span of five months. So there goes my brief report for last month's activity here in read. Those numbers will change because I don't check on my articles right away. As some of you know, I don't check right away on my previous articles. I back read to my comments which I am three weeks behind but I always do check your comments. I may have overlooked some but I try to read them all. Now it's the first day of the month. The only goal I am setting for myself is to be as active as I can. That works for me to ease off the pressure and stress. I want to make it fun. We may not be earning that much here but that's okay. It was a stormy long weekend but glad that the first day of this month so far was overall good weather. I hope this carries on the rest of the year. Be good, November. It may have been a good weather but the chill is surely felt throughout the day that's why I have been consuming coffee all day long. Anyway, cheers to a good month for us all!

98, 1.8, 16 of 17, 5 98 deaths and 1.8 Million worth of damages in 16 of 17 regions of the Philippines. So far, these are the numbers in brief that Typhoon Paeng (international Nalgae) brought to our country. Not just one region but almost all the regions from North to South, East to West. In one month, we have had 5 tropical storms starting with Maymay, Neneng, Obet, Paeng and now Queenie who still raced to make it this month. You can check here daily weather reports. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpyLikj1x70S8UPxVqsPr6g/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=0 While this is not common in the tropical regions, it is still sad and heartbreaking to see the devastation done by such storms especially those that pack with intensity and coverage. We haven't had electricity since yesterday and it was only just this evening that it was restored. That is the extent of my worries so far. Nothing compared to the flooded or eroded areas. We had to conserve our phone batteries because we couldn't charge. We have no back up. I think the good thing that I can take from that is it happened on a weekend and we don't have work. No work to worry about. Kudos to all our linemen who are working 24/7 in calamity like this in an effort to restore power. People can't understand how much work needs to be done, extent of damages in multiple areas and not just one. Yet, they demand that they be attended to at once. Our linemen can only be in one place at a time. When calamities hit, while it is understandable that we all have needs, we should set aside being selfish and try to be of service and help instead. Look at the bigger picture. The world does not revolve only to you. As you are aware, there was a tragedy that happened in Seoul regarding a crowd surge/crush killing 154 and injuring more. I have read comments in posts about that where in they said to post also about the result of the storm here in our country so that it will gain more attention about the situation. I understand the helplessness and frustration of those who commented such but I find that selfish. Since day one, posts are already online about the effect of the storm in the country until now. What attention do you still want? We couldn't just brush off what happened in other places too. Let us be more understanding. There were also those who still has the nerve take advantage of situations like this. Some would scam others by posting pitiful posts and posting their accounts where one can send money. While some are legit posts, there are those who are not. When giving donations, go to trusted channels that you are sure your donations will reach the victims. Scammers are everywhere. They work nonstop. This is the longest weekend of suffering by far. It was supposed to be a time to be with families and loved ones but we were left with surviving the storm. In this time of need, continue to be resilient and pray for each other. Let kindness be stronger than the storm.

Flowers for #Itaewon. Bad news upon bad news. 151 was the highest reported death toll so far and many more injured from the Halloween event in Seoul. Reports said the event was attended by mostly young people. Mostly young women died and 19 foreigners. The number is still rising. While police forces and firefighters were there, the number of crowd for the capacity of the place was not monitored. From what I've read so far, maybe because of the number of people, some fell from a street crushing those who were below it and this in turn caused panic. Some accounted that the crowd got rowdier and rowdier before the crowd surge/crush as what reports said. Many suffered cardiac arrest and problems with breathing. A temporary morgue was set up nearby to cater to the dead. #prayforseoul #prayforitaewon #itaewon #yongsan #halloween2022 #BREAKING #korea #seoulkorea #koreannews #이태원 #이태원할로윈 #용산 #emergency Sources: https://edition.cnn.com/asia/live-news/seoul-south-korea-halloween-deaths/index.html https://edition.cnn.com/2022/10/29/asia/south-korea-halloween-cardiac-arrest-intl/index.html

Stormy Saturday night thoughts The rain is stronger now outside. I can hear the wind whistling and pitter patter of rain as it hits the glass windows. A draft can be felt now and then. It's wet all around. I'm writing this hoping that I can finish it and publish it successfully. I would not be surprised if we will not have electricity later on. Phone, charged. Flashlight, charged. Candles, ready. These are just little worries and nothing compared to those who are affected worse by the storm - flood, no electricity and the storm have claimed lives (67 was the last count I have read). The majority of strong storms usually hit our country at the last quarter of the year. There's nothing else that we can do but pray for everyone's safety. Because it rained today, I was not able to go out for a walk or were were able to go anywhere other than buy stuff from a nearby store. The rest of the day, I spent looking for jobs and watching movies, which led me to The Cabinet of Curiosities which is a Netflix series. These are evil, terrifying, horror stories. Each story has a different director. Some are predictable. Some have anticlimactic scenes while some have boring ones. There is one episode there where Rupert Grint starred in. He played Ron Weasley in Harry Potter. I think I have seen another movie of his but that was it. I have asked this before and I want to ask again. How far will you go to do something for your loved ones? for yourself? for others? Would you risk your life and do whatever it takes no matter how risky or say, how evil the act is? In one episode, she even killed her husband because she felt he was not supportive of her to attain beauty. The mind is a complex thing. Sometimes we have to walk on eggshells because we do not know what to say or do so that our partner will not get mad. In one episode, a brother's love for his twin had wasted his life just to bring her sister back from the dead. We really cannot know how dire a situation is unless we ourselves are put in such a position. That reminds me of what person A said to another (B): "Give up some of your kids for adoption instead of you suffering." The context of that was, person B just can't seem to make ends meet. She is a single parent with three kids and she tries her best to provide for them. Whatever the reason person A said that to B, I find that inappropriate. Would you easily give up your family like that? Anyway, The Cabinet of Curiosities is not for everyone. It's gruesome, gory, morbid and ghastly. However, if it is something within your interest, then go for it. The rain outside has stopped. I hope the storm will be over soon.

Ending the week right I was checking my Hive wallet when I saw this: Surprised and curious, I headed to my notifications right away and there I found out that my entry for ZapFic Monday was chosen as one of the lucky winners and most especially by itsostylish to be delegated some HP for the whole month. That's generous and kind of her to do that. https://ecency.com/@itsostylish This was my entry https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@leeart/my-zapfic-monday-opponent Thanks to wordcounter for the screenshot. Anyway, if you are in Hive, then check out ZapFic Monday and join the challenge too. Write a story in 240 characters (including words, spaces, punctuations). Just make sure you are writing about the topic for the week. https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@leeart/my-zapfic-monday-opponent Talking about Hive, my lead image was from my entry to FungiFriday. That's another community you may want to check out and hopefully join as well. https://ecency.com/hive-151327/@leeart/last-fungi-friday-entry-for-this-month Earlier this morning, I decided to go for a walk and thankfully I followed my instinct. I thought we will not be affected by the storm but now we are under signal no. 1. It started raining this afternoon until now. This was taken at Malcolm Square/People's Park. Tents were set up and flowers and candles are sold here in time for the Undas or All Saints' Day. Not all tents were open yet but surprisingly some are already open before 6:00 a.m. I think those were delivered early too so those businesses decided to open. There were already people that time anyway. What are your plans for this Halloween weekend? I hope the storm will be gone soon so that we don't have to worry about visiting the cemeteries. The building on the right is one of the hospitals here in the city. It was not my plan to pass this route but because I am fulfilling the 10k steps, I decided to go this route and then back to the park. This is where our family doctor's clinic is located. The window on the ground floor at the bottom right of the photo is the specific location of our doctor. The last time I saw her was more than 20 years ago. I don't know if our doctor is still practicing. Thank goodness we haven't had any reason to visit her clinic health wise. The last time I was there was when I brought a friend there because she was sick. Glad she didn't have to be admitted and was discharged soon after. I went to check on our doctor but she was not around that time. The Wall of Heroes is located a few meters from the hospital. This is a mural of frontliners, farmers, drivers and many more. You won't miss it if you are coming to Baguio and passing by Kennon or Marcos Highway. This mural is located below the flyover. Finally, I then bought breakfast from one of the restaurants that we frequent. I like how these containers of vinegar and soy sauce seem to be lined perfectly from this angle so I took a photo of that while waiting for my order. I have misgivings because the last time we were here, we didn't have a good experience but I still gave it a chance and glad that I did because the food I bought was delicious. I didn't have to wait that long too for there were only a few customers that time. The rain is lashing out outside and one can't help but worry what this storm will do. I have seen the effects already in other parts of the country and it's not looking good. Praying for safety to one and all.

I was reading princess' posts in read a while ago about sudden changes that we have no control of. I have commented there that we lost clients. They decided not to renew their contract anymore. I just found out this morning. It's a great loss and it's considered we are jobless anymore. This is a sudden change although I already have a feeling about it. It's been weeks since I tried looking for other jobs that I can apply my skills but no luck thus far. Learning new skill at this point in life may seem counterproductive since I needed a job right away. However, I still trust the universe and whatever His plan is. I'll just continue applying and getting rejected until I find the right one for me. I feel like what lies ahead is bleak and dark and uncertain but I'd take it one step at a time.

Of ramen and travel I was supposed to write something but I forgot what was the topic that I wanted to post here. I just finished writing about our experience at Mizuki Japanese Restaurant in Hive. https://ecency.com/hive-120586/@leeart/ramen-at-hotel-grande-s Feel free to check out my post about it. C'mon. Don't be shy. Click on that underlined link above. Noodles is probably the food next to rice that is most consumed by all here in our country. We have instant ones. Pancit (stir-fried noodles) is a served on every occasion. Then there is pasta and then other cuisines that serve their own version of noodles. Korean ramyun is popular too and I like it. I like Japanese. I am fascinated by the their culture, people and the place. That's why I wanted to find the best ramen in town. However, up to this point, my quest has not been fulfilled. I think I am used to Korean ramyun more. Or could it be that Japanese ramen is not for my taste? Anyway, I just found out that starting December 16, 2022, there will be flights from Baguio to Cebu and vice versa. It was announced in Philippine Airlines' page. It would only take about two hours flight. Going to Cebu from Baguio right now would take more than that because we had to travel by land from Baguio to Manila or Clark for about 3-4 hours then take a flight from Manila to Cebu. I haven't been there yet so I don't know how long it takes. I then checked right away if how much would be the airfare. Unfortunately, as of this writing there is no available schedule yet for Baguio-Cebu flights. However, there are flights available for Cebu-Baguio starting on December 16 at around PHP5500 (USD94.48) fare one way. It is understandable that it is pricey because it is the national carrier airline company that will be chartering flights for now. If it would have been other airlines, I'm sure it will be cheaper. I wouldn't be spending that amount if I will travel from Baguio to Manila and then Manila to Cebu. I just have to find the cheapest available flights in other airlines. I'm looking forward to it. I'm almost ready to convert some HBD to use for our travel to Cebu lol! I hope PAL will have an introductory price where it will be more affordable. I have used PAL before when we traveled to Palawan because we have no other choice then. We always use Cebu Pacific because it is way cheaper. Lucky you if you were able to book a flight during their promo days. Let's see what the future will bring. Tomorrow is Friday and I am looking forward to it. I am ready for another walk tomorrow so I'll be heading to bed after posting this. I couldn't type very well because I hurt my hands but still I will be checking on you later on. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

@ARTicLEE

Captured this last weekend. It is sunrise but it looks like sunset. Of course I had to edit it to make it more vibrant like that. When everything around you looks dull or dark or gloomy, be the color, be the light. Let us be grateful for the new day that is given us. It's a fresh start and also another opportunity to continue what we had begun. Start the day with thanksgiving and prayer. These are troubled times but let's find hope in every day. Some may find it harder to do so but don't give up. Wake up. Get up. Show up. Breathe in. Breathe out. Don't forget to smile.
