We can't blame those spinster maybe they have experience what is life when financially unstable. It is traumatic for them, seeing other families live in hunger, begging for alms to survive, living on the streets with their children in cold night or under the heat of the sun. They do not want to experienced with their children to be.

If you hold on to your love, both of you hold on to each other...both of you will reach your goals in life and get richer together. Right love, right person with a great vision in life. But yeah, I know some who marry someone not for love but for financial stability and more.
I think the root cause why marry for financial stability because today women are materialistic, vain in their beauty and fashion fanatics. How could this be maintained without money. So women had to be practical for them love is secondary, it will develop later on as long they are not living in poverty.
