It was like less than a week ago that there was a thread talking about how trolling had become so quiet in this sub over the last month or two. Then the ABC split turns out to be a nothingburger and LO AND BEHOLD there's a hundred BTC trolls in here nobody's ever heard of. What a coincidence.
Edit: this same phenomenon happened during the totally-not-an-orchestrated-attack-just-a-difference-of-opinion BSV/BCH split. If you'll recall in the months leading up to that split, BTC trolling almost completely vanished on this sub. We even saw BTC supporters coming out as if to be BSV supporters. Then within a week of the BSV split falling to get advantage, BOOM back come the BTC trolls.
What a coincidence.

We call them BTC trolls, but I think you are basically correct. IMO, they are often professional social engineering agents working to harm the dream of Bitcoin. BTC was captured and "tamed" so it could not fulfill the Bitcoin dream using the social engineering to fool the community. They still do that and fool the public into thinking BTC is still a real Bitcoin effort. They attack BCH because it seeks to fulfill the true dream of Bitcoin. They do not usually attack BTC because they know it is no longer a threat to the fiat status quo.
maybe they are not specifically btc trolls, just trolls who want to derail cryptocurrency as a whole
