It's Just Politics
Two more days to the most awaited day in the Philippines, the 2022 election... Am not actually into politics and my introductory sentence neither do I know if it was the right term, lol.
Greetings! Am inactive for I think already a month. I don't know if you even remember me. I have been missing this platform but what can I do? Helpless as I am that I am always physically and mentally drained. There were days that I jot on my draft box but when I think of getting it done, it was already not an updated one from the current events. And what I do is delete the whole drafted article and sometimes two or three.
Haayy... (As in deep sigh). My online selling had been taking most of my time. I wanted to do live selling to make it more easier and hasten it but there are factors which make me not.
I had been occupied by it and honestly, I only came to know some of the running candidates thru social media and their flyers hanged along designated areas and not came face to face with them. Rallies were held during their campaigns but I can't just leave my kids themselves at night.
Ever since political aspirants have filed their certificate of candidacy their supporters have had arguments between themselves most especially those at the Executive level.
Social media became more toxic.
For Filipino citizens in this platform, we all know the history most especially of our Presidential candidate, Bong Bong Marcos' background. No. I won't talk about politics because as said earlier am not good at it. I only state this because it's what the other party is using against him. While the others most especially the pink party is also being thrown with negativities. Well, it's just the usual political games for years. These things are all over facebook and other social medias which make it all the more toxic.
Its just politics.
Since we started our right to vote on government officials when we reached the right age we started to understand how politics is. We started to choose our "manok", a good leader to stand for the country down to the lowest level.
The right to choose which is which brought division between friends and even families. It was due to unavoidable altercations among their preferred candidate.
A Facebook post of a screenshot of a couple even went viral because it caused their untimely break up. ( Am not updated if they got back together after their posted convo).
Some had made posts about their political views but didn't name any candidates. However, was misunderstood by their friends or relatives maybe that made them throw unnecessary words at the comment section. Though you have a good point but inevitable as it is there are those get offended still. It can cause arguments which undeniably is.
Technically, it should not be how it is. Because after the election those whom you have been supporting during the political campaigns won't or even doesn't acknowledge you after they take charge of the position you put them in. Well, some would but not all the time most especially if you're just a tiny ant. That is a proven fact.
So what should we do? We don't need to argue with our family, relatives or friends over our political candidate preferences because at the end of the day it will only be us who would be having each others back. So that when ones manok won, then it's good. At least we have one to represent us to that certain someone. And, when a family decided to support a certain candidate it is all the more the best.
Well, life's too short to get stressed about such. Still, be nice w/ everyone 'cause hurting anyone's feeling just because of politics is a big "NO NO. Let it not be a root for friendships and relationships to be broken. Let's just respect each one and ones preferences and views. No hate just love.
On May 9, we only hope for a peaceful election, just like it usually was in our place.

Maybe those leaders wont recognize us, however we will be affected of how the chosen leader will run our country. If di tayo naapektuhan doesn't mean we just need to shrugged our shoulders kasi pano naman yung mga nasa laylayan? Still, politics should not be a reason for a broken relationship both in families or friends
