It is the case of the Drum, this instrument that curiously does not have an exact origin, but if it has been found in many countries of the world, it is as if each tribe, civilization, or group of people saw it necessary to invent this instrument with an exact purpose, it is believed that it arose as a way to communicate with the ancient Gods or to communicate with other communities. From Africa to Asian lands have been found several types of drums, curiously all similar, but with some complement that marks their difference from each other.

An Asian legend, makes mention of the Drum in the year 3500 BC, something that amazes historians, it is known that in the great Mesopotamia five thousand years before Christ, drums were made, however, a question arises because not all civilizations gave them the same use.
¿What was the use they gave to the drums?
Tribus Africanas -They used it as a means of communication between them, each sound emitted by the drums, meant a phrase or news, the most impressive thing is to think how these tribes learned these sounds and how they came to translate them.
The Arabs - Undoubtedly these were the most feared, they used the drum as a tool to intimidate their enemies, every time they were going to start a war or combat, they began to sound them, this caused a devastating effect for the enemy ranks, many were intimidated because they knew that when this sound stopped, a real massacre would begin.
The Greeks - The use they gave to the drum was more civilized, they used it in parties or ceremonies, especially to praise and honor Dionysus, who was the God of Wine, you can imagine how these parties ended.
The Romans - Although it is not known exactly, who first began to use drums in wars or military campaigns, the Romans as well as the Arabs, took advantage of this musical instrument, in their acclaimed military campaigns, each Legion carried drums, and where they passed resounded anyone who was hiding or spying on them, knowing that his enemy was not going to play, but to kill.
Due to the crusades led by the Europeans in the ancient east, many varied things began to arrive at the old continent, among them the Drum, it was thus as many Kings decided to use this musical instrument in the games of weapons, accompanied by the famous trumpets. However, already in the XV century, it is said that there was no army without having in its team of weapons several expert soldiers with the drums, which accompanied them in their usual march.
The drum undoubtedly emerged in prehistoric times, and was expanding throughout the world, to the American continent came with the African slaves, these shared their knowledge and instruments with the Indians and other inhabitants of the continent, and it was thus when interesting musical genres emerged, At present, the drum is used all over the world, from Rock to Salsa, Merengue, there is even a special genre that bears the same name Tambor, in Venezuela especially we have groups that accompany their singing with the sound of such an interesting musical instrument. ¿Did you know about this instrument?.
