Words, and a lot

Letters combined either two or more, make up words. Words arranged lovingly, hastefully, hatefully creates stories, poems, speeches, or letters. It can make or destroy a world.

As for me, I love words in creating worlds. A world that can be my own. A world where I create characters, play with their attitudes. Lift them or burn them. I play with the surroundings. Make them plain, make them barren, or make them out of the ordinary. Words that can take your soul away.

That being said, let's have a story. A story that has a beginning but not necessarily has an ending. A story that only exists inside a void, waiting to be told. Let's begin.

Once upon a time, there was a reckless bunny. This bunny was so reckless he always got his dear life in danger. Fortunately, this bunny has luck imprinted under his fluffy fur. Whenever he was at the mercy of death, luck swooped down and saved his sorry ass.

But luck and recklessness was never a good combination. The two do not coincide with each other. Like oil and water, love and hate, good and evil. For the bunny who realized that luck was always on his side, he became reckless and more reckless. Testing how far he could go.

Until one day, he finally decided to take a little look inside the thick jungle beyond the meadow where he lived. It was said to be forbidden for the bunnies such as himself. For a lot of creatures prowled there and they, the bunnies, were just hopping delicious food to the creatures.

The reckless and the stubborn bunny did not listen to the warning. He went ahead, thinking that luck without fail would always be there to save him.

At first at the entrance, he sniffed the air. Sweet scent of flowers, sour and bitter scent of excretes.

He hopped one inside and was being greeted by a butterfly. He had never seen one that was as tall as his ears and as colorful as the flowers in his meadow.

The butterfly sat to his nose and stayed there for a good minute before it decided to flap its wings and fly.

The reckless bunny had never seen in his opinion a rare butterfly. For purple dust spread in the air as it flapped its wings. The dust was so enchanting that the reckless bunny followed the butterfly further inside.

He followed and followed the butterfly without hesitation until it stopped and landed gracefully at the center of a huge flower. The bunny's eyes grew big, for the flower was as red as a cherry and bigger than himself.

The bunny was so enthralled, he never imagined flowers and butterflies were way bigger inside the jungle. He was amazed. He thought that the jungle was not that bad after all.

Then he went nearer to the flower to have a closer look, the butterfly flew and the flower moved. The bunny froze from where he was standing. He couldn't understand how a flower moved on its own.

He was looking up as the flower towered him. It was making a sound, a hissing one as the center of it slowly opened.

The bunny could not move his legs as the flower bared a line of sharp teeth and a sticky drool dropped on the reckless bunny's forehead.ย

The flower dived down to get its prey, by instinct the bunny jumped sideways.

He ran as fast as his legs could. Hissing and clawing was behind him. He hid inside a hollowed tree only to find a snake living there. He hid under the thick grasses only to find a crouching cat. The reckless bunny had no other choice but to run. Everything inside wanted to get a piece of him.

Until he finally found a small cave. He hid inside and blocked it with stones so that not a thing could find him. He hid there for days. No food, no water, and a lot of animals outside the cave love to have him on a plate.

The bunny was so weak lying inside the cave, waiting for himself to die. He guessed that maybe luck got tired of him and left him alone. He wished that he shouldn't have entered the jungle. He should've listened to the warning.

The sorry bunny was lying on the cold ground, something wet dropped to his lips. Thirsty as he was, he licked it. It tasted salty, he reckoned, but it didn't matter to him. He licked and licked as more was coming. He swallowed it and somehow quenched his hunger and thirst. Luck was still on his side after all.

The next morning, the reckless bunny awoke by a burning feeling all over hisย  body. The tossed and turned, he felt his skin being torched by fire. He also felt an unscratchable itch in his gums. He scratched and scratched his two front teeth. It was so itchy he wanted to pull it off.

The poor bunny did not know what to do, he busted out from his hiding place. He ran, frantically looking for water. He was thirsty and the feeling that his whole body was set on fire. He didn't care anymore if he'd be preyed upon in doing so. He just wanted to have a drink, dip into the cold to extinguish the invisible fire. He wanted to be free. He wanted to be released from his misery.

Maybe luck had heard him. For above him were a set of fierce eyes silently and patiently watching his every move. It was waiting for a timing, a good one to strike.

The sick bunny stopped and sniffed the air. Water, he was looking for the scent of water.

Just then the hunter swooped down the tree and with its sharp claws gripped the bunny's back. Its sharp nails pierced through the bunny's skin from which the bunny cried in pain.

Easy food, thought the hunter. But the bunny, sick as he was, wriggled himself free. His eyes were burning, he couldn't see properly.

What he remembered was, he wrestled the hunter bird. He bit the bird's neck with his itchy front teeth. He was so thirsty, he lapped the blood gushing out from the neck. It was the same saltiness he had from the cave. It was delicious, he could not believe that it was what he was looking for.

What happened to the reckless bunny after that, no one knew.

Let me finish this. The rabbit's foot got caught on twine and tried hard as he did he couldn't get loose.. Then you hear a loud bang! Finally, the hunter has gotten his rabbit and it's gonna be stew in few hours. The End.

You see...the rabbit has always thought that his luck was...

imprinted under his fluffy fur. But it had actually come from his feet. Feet stuck, no luck. LOL.

Sorry, I was desperate for an ending. hahaha...

It is a tale created with a lot of imagination, but without an ending. As for each reader to put his own ending.

Man, I did not expect it would turn out that dark. For sure, he also became a monster in that forbidden place. Guess he's still lucky though, because in the end he became a predator, not a prey. That's the ending I'd want to have.Haha.
