Insecurity is not a bad thing. It's an important part of life that enables us to grow and evolve. The problem begins when insecurity transforms into self-consciousness, which can cause people to become overly critical or judgmental of themselves or others. This lack of acceptance can lead them down the path towards depression, anxiety, addiction, and other unhealthy behaviors that serve as distractions from their pain. To avoid these outcomes, it is important for those struggling with insecurity to learn how to be mindful in the present moment without letting past mistakes dictate your future identity."
Confidence and insecurity come from the same Latin root word meaning 'without risk or security.' So confidence is coming from a place of security, while insecurity is coming from a place of fear.
Insecurity has detrimental effects on peoples' self-confidence because they often do not realize that their insecurity stems from their own deep rooted insecurities. It's mainly because insecure people tend to structure how they view themselves based solely off what others say about them and these thoughts can be very powerful and intimidating at times. As you'll notice, we tend to get really worried about what other people think and we're constantly trying to please them and make everything right for them instead of listening to our own voice. This lack of assertion leads us into insecurity .
A good portion of the population does not know what confidence means. Confidence is more of an internal conviction that you can achieve something, whereas self-confidence is more of a feeling that you are worthy to achieve it.
So an insecure person who feels like they're worth nothing will never be reassured by anything else, because their feelings reflect reality, and without this reassurance (through success or approval) they will remain in their pitiful mindset forever.
Confidence comes from achieving things; self-confidence comes from winning recognition for them. Confidence breeds pride; self-confidence prevents us from ever forgetting our weaknesses. So it is understandable that people with a high level of self-esteem think less about the opinions of others than anyone else .
What issues do I feel insecure about and how do I deal with them?
Anything that I personally feel insecure about, I try to tackle head on, as opposed to avoiding.
The key for me is keeping my mindset open and not fearing confrontation. It seems shocking, but if someone is saying something rude or biting towards me it's more often than not a sign that they may be breaking some of their own personal limitations-- which can have a hugely positive impact on them just as much as it does on me. Instead of being bothered by the negativity of having an interaction where feelings are hurt or pushed away by one person or another, this has been a blessing in disguise because I've been able to see how telling people what you want and evoking strong responses from others makes for significant shifts in self-confidence .
Overcome insecurity
Yes. Self-doubt/insecurity is the primary enemy of confidence, because the more you doubt yourself, the less others will come to your aid when you really need it. One way around this is that many people put their energies into finding reasons why they don't deserve to be loved or supported instead of finding reasons why they do deserve them.
If insecurity can have a detrimental effect on people's self-confidence, then overcoming insecurity must have a beneficial effect. So if you want to stay strong and resilient in spite of feeling insecure, one thing to keep in mind is that... The first step towards building any skill - whether it's public speaking or playing an instrument or juggling - is simply being aware that there are steps involved.
There are two main steps you can take when dealing with insecurity - understanding your insecurities and working on the ones that bother you the most; never feeling guilty for feeling insecure about anything - even appearance because everyone feels insecure sometimes. Step one is figuring out what bothers you so much so that way you know where to start solving those issues once they occur again in the future.
Everyone knows what you're thinking; your pulse rate goes up, your pupils enlarge and your production of stomach acid increases - not good for digestion! So what can help to stop this cycle?
Focus on actions with an attitude of acceptance and positivity - doing things that feel good for you is the fastest way to break the cycle because feeling good helps you feel confident. However, insecurity isn't something you have to live with forever and there are some steps you can take in order to overcome it!
So confidence is the key to locking anything that might be holding you back from living a happy life .That's why being confident is important as well as being secure with yourself and your surroundings....
