"Eightieth" `|#365|Blog No. 08` `11.14.2022 @8:26 PM|` _______________________ As what I have said in my previous blog, *"Alive and Kicking,"* I happened to share with you that I attended the an advance birthday celebration of my late grandmother's second to the last sister. It was called an advance celebration because she is suppose to celebrate it today but for some reasons the families and other relatives got to decide to have it in advance for the reason that the students or those who have a weekday works can't attend it if they will choose to celebrate it in the exact date of her birthday. https://read.cash/@renren16/alive-and-kicking-e9e94e1b Lolo Caling just turned eighty years old. This numbers indicate how she was able to conquer all the challenges of her life for that longs years and celebrate all the winnings she had over the years of her life. Just wow!

She is now a widow but loved by all of her family and neighbors as well. Lola Caling has a small sari-sari store which serves as her main source of income. She is leaving with one of her grandchildren to watch over her because you know, she's older now. But looking at her, she's still strong for that age. "Bless more strength and good health on her dear God." So, let's talk about her birthday. Today is really the exact date of her birthday but we celebrated it in advance because of the reasons I have stated earlier. One of the neighbors, well actually a blood-related neighbors ("paryente" in our dialect) pledged a "Lechon" for her. We called it "Panaad." Due to some complications of that pig it was young, they have promised Lola Caling that if it will grow, they will give it to her as a gift for her birthday. With God's grace, the pig really did grow and weighs 70 kilos. And as promised, they gave it to her. Last Saturday, we went to San Juan Heritage Beach Resort where we celebrated her 80th Birthday in advance. Most of the visitors were blood-related (kaparyentehan) and some known friends. There's a lot of people, "parang isang baryo na." Lol. We even invited some ice drop vendors to join us during the partaking of food. Meanwhile, like I said, we went to a beach resort so automatically most of us enjoy the beach under the sun. "Hindi ako naligo kasi sobrang init talaga. Madami naman kaming hindi talaga naligo at piniling i-enjoy ang araw through chika at of course, kain nang kain sa ibang mga handa." (Laughing) So here are more photos during that day;

Fast Forward: Around 4pm that day, we decided to pack all of our things and travel back home. But before that, I took an opportunity to take some pictures of the beach and do a selfies as well.

Ending Thoughts: *We are all happy at that time. Not just because of the Lechon. Lol. Happy in the sense that we have all gathered in an event to celebrate a milestone and as well as adding more memories to treasure for a lifetime.* That would be all.
