Most cats spend their time sleeping from morning to evening. However, this lazy animal is actually very active at night because it has been storing energy all day long.

Productive time between cats and humans is different because of this. When humans are ready to fall asleep, pet cats will run around house nimbly to just play or catch insects in the house.

Apparently, cats are classified as nocturnal animals, namely a group of animals that are active after sunset or at night. This is a genetically inherited trait in cats, so humans can't demand a pet cat to have same sleep schedule.

One of reasons cats are so active at night is that they have predatory instincts. Often times cats are seen running as if someone is chasing them, but they aren't. With such behavior, they actually show hunting behavior, fighting maneuvers, and techniques to escape from predators.

Domestic cats need to burn off their energy after a lazy day. They need toys such as small bugs, laser pointers, and sticks with feathers to actively reach, chase and jump.

Nocturnal animals are a group of animals that are active at night and cats are one of them. Especially if they are not active enough during the day.

Some cat pets will be left by their owners while working. When owner comes home in afternoon, cat will start to be active to invite him to play. If owner does not have time to invite him to play, then cat will be very energetic on its own.

Hyperesthesia syndrome can be categorized as a behavioral disorder. In accordance with name Hyperesthesia which means too sensitive to stimuli, especially in lower back to tail and spine.

This condition is more common in adult cats and cause is rarely known. However, it is necessary to consult a doctor if cat often bites its back above its tail, even if there are no fleas.

Usually cat strokes base of tail or back until it bites area excessively, then runs around very actively.

Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly what causes a cat to become active suddenly, because basic cat behaviors are difficult to interpret. Hopefully information related to why cats are so active at night can be new knowledge.

One behavior of cat I have seen. When I used to feed our cat, inbetween its food it keeps turning back as though somebody is after it, though for sure nobody is after it.

I think is because that is when they are able to see very well, because at nights their eyes are always colorful

It looks some thing natural phenomena by birth in cats. I never think in this way but the logic is very strong that cats are more active in nights.
