We watched The Minions: Rise of Gru? Have you watched it yet? We wanted to watch yesterday but when I checked the cinema, left first row. I didn't want to hurt my neck. So we tried again today and got ourselves nice seats. Last minute plan with the boys to wear yellow to match with Minions but husband has no yellow T, so he becomes our forest. Lol... A superb show. Whole cinema full of laughter. Then, we had dinner at Burger King. I had not eaten Whooper before (usually I…

Happiest 8th birthday to my youngest son. Looking back 8 years ago, what seemed so scary and uncertainty about his survival, now it is a journey of joy and a process of healing. We could not be more thankful of his life. What a champion he is. He may be smaller in his size comparing to his peers but we believe for CDH kids, slow and steady wins the race. Always thankful for all support and prayers given by families and friends. ❤️ Jansen had a blast today. He is so happy to…
Smelling the aroma of shrimp-yyyness goodness, I looked around to track the smell. Found the Penang Hokkien Mee stall. The aunty was frying a big wok of prawns' heads and prawns shells. That explains the aroma.. When you see Hokkien Mee from Penang, it isn't the stir fry 'wok-hei' black noodles style, but this one is soup noodles consists of yellow noodle (egg noodle) and rice noodle (vermicelli). The yummyness comes from the soup which is made from hours of boiling the…
At first I thought I could let the boys enjoyed the playland while I relaxed. Little did I know, I also became a monkey🙉 at the playland, climbed, ran, slide, picked up balls again and again. Only thing was I couldn't get on trampoline due to maximum weight. Anyway, we all had a blast. I sweated abit, the boys sweated so much. They also made friends with other children there. A great post-birthday celebration. 🎉🎉 P/S: I did enjoy the slide a lot! Being children is so much…
Finally, we get to try 'gula apong' ice cream at a shop nearby us. 'Gula apong' is in Malay language. Gula = sugar. Gula apong is Sarawak's famous palm sugar which comes from nipa palm tree. It looks like caramel but is all natural sweetness. The ice-cream drizzled with 'gula apong' is pleasantly yummy. The ice cream itself is smooth too. It comes with two free toppings!! I chose chocolate rice and ground peanut. A soothing treat especially during hot weather. Yums!
Door as his sticker book. Lol... I used to imagine having a clean house, towards minimalistic style, those lesser is better mode, and mostly wooden or beige or white in colour. Plain and simple. But having children in your life will change all the goals and visions.😂 They bring colours to our life, even our doors become colourful with stickers. Wait till you see my wardrobe haha, more stickers by my eldest son when he was younger. Here, Jansen is enjoying sticking his Kermit…
Homecooked Meal with Love We had superb lunch at Aunt's. It was once a week activity for us, to visit her, at the same time to eat lunch with her. She always looked forward to cook for us yummy sumptuous meal. Sumptuous Lunch Just look at this spread of food. So healthy and definitely cooked from love. She usually would wake up early and started cooking early. Let's zoom in... One special thing about her meal was she used her own homecooked chicken stock which she boiled the…
Rest in Peace, my dear Aunt Lily.❤️❤️❤️ I am not sure what is the proper term in English but we siblings call her 'Ji Ngm', second aunt. She is my father's elder second brother's wife. When I was young, we used to camp at her place. I remembered her as super generous aunt and very hospitable. She loved me very much and always said I was a special girl for whatever reason, she didn't know. So she always bought Barbie Dolls for me as she knew I loved Barbie Dolls. A superb mum…
Any chicken rice lovers here? Or chicken gizzard? (my youngest son thought we mentioned lizard hahaha) Husband and I drove around for a slow lunch since our eldest son would have lunch at school and we didn't need to rush. We stopped by a coffee shop we hadn't been for years. The chicken rice here is famous since 20 years ago. And to my amazement, it still tastes good. The rice is so fragrant. And the chicken soft and tender. Even the chicken gizzard is soft yet have that…
Don't you think that there are so many responsibilities to juggle in life? Some of us are multi-tasking to the max and didn't have time for real life, like going for a slow walk, doing exercise and a hobby you like, or just catching up with families and friends. And yet, our responsibilities are real too, like working to get income, taking care of loved ones and home, children and pets. The list goes on. And here we were, catching up with all of our relatives we had not been…
Husband cooked for us yummy meal. To him, it was a simple meal, but to me it was grand because I usually only cooked simple stir fry Chinese style or Chinese soup. Pan fry marinated chicken with mashed potatoes and stir fry asparagus with a hint of turmeric. Sooooo delicious.. We truly enjoyed it!
"Not a good kind of positive". Hubby was tested positive this morning. He didn't have any symptoms except runny nose and sneezing. No fever too. But we thought just checked. Then it was Covid19 POSITIVE. Praying for him to recover fast and also praying none of the rest got it. Most importantly, I pray the two boys will be well. Take care everyone.
Cooking and then packing food for husband who is under quarantine due to covid19. Hope he recovers soon. We all miss him.
Last week, one of nights, husband suddenly asked for impromptu dinner dine-out at an old place which he frequented when he was younger. So this shop had been there for 20++ years. We ordered wrapped egg, we call it 'telur Bungkus' in our language, where inside the egg wrap there are meat and mixed vegetables. A flavourful mixed vegetables. An omelette and turmeric fried chicken slices which was the highly recommended of the day. So delicious that we ordered another plate of…
This is the biggest soft toy he ever got. He is so stoked to receive this Kermit the green frog puppet soft toy from @edenling. Gonna have some time playing it as puppet. He loves it so so much! And he is wearing the Kermit Tshirt by @happycrazycon.
Day 3 of husband being quarantined due to Covid19. We missed him alot because he is quarantine-ing at another unit which is his food business kitchen storage unit. Thank God he is feeling stronger although still easily tired. I salute him that he was able to cook a meal for himself. Told you, he is a wayyy better chef than me. I usually cook Chinese style, and he is more towards the Western style. Look at what he cooked. How will you rate it? My boys always rate his cooking…
My last meal with my husband before he was tested positive and then he sent himself away from us to keep us safe - was this thing called 'otak-otak'. My mother-in-law actually bought this from Penang. And this 'otak-otak' travelled all the way from Penang to Kuala Lumpur then to our stomachs. 😜 Interestingly, when I was young, I refused to eat this when my mum offered because 'otak' in our language (Malay language) is brain. So I thought there was brain in it. I was visually…
Aunt always cooked delicious food. But particularly last Saturday, the boys were very happy because she cooked for them her homemade chicken nuggets. Hers weren't those small pieces size like at fast food or frozen pack, but hers were bigger sized nuggets. She would buy the chicken breasts, tenderised them, slice them to thinner slices, marinated with salt and pepper and some chicken stock, coated with flour egg + her own breadcrumbs too. She also cooked some fish nuggets…
As I find strength in God during my task now - - - tube-feeding my son hourly because of his temporary complications - - - He replied me with this song. I took some time to worship him and realised seeds of faith and strength being imparted to me. Glad that He spoke to me in ways I can understand.❤️❤️❤️ https://youtu.be/uHz0w-HG4iU
Happy Monday dear Noise mates. Hope you are doing well. My mother-in-law came to visit today, to have a look at her grandson, Jansen. She bought butter cake and pumpkin cake, two of Jansen's favourite in case he is up to it for eating. He managed to try few bites before he felt some pain again at his intestines area, then we were back to tubefeed to ensure him proper hydration and nutrition. We still gave thanks for that few bites that he tried.🥳 On the side note, the butter…
Aren't they cute? They are Larry and Momo, my brother's 'children' 😁, his pets guinea pigs. Hello hello to Noise fambam! I noticed Momo is more shy and tend to stay in its huts most of the time or rather more careful to new people? My brother is not at home so he asked my help to feed them food and water. Seeing them munching happily a sense of cuteness, and also the way they tried to smell me to recognise this new smell of acquaintance. But after attending to them for 10…
Looks who is eating today!!! He is feeling much better today, talked more too. By nature, he is mischievous one. I just need to tube-feed him one time today and the rest, he tried to eat. No hard food yet, just some buns and bread. He said he still feels some discomfort eating but I guess, give it few more days and the intestines will eventually line up. Jansen boy, slow and steady wins the race. ♥️ #CDHsurvivor #health
It was a tiring night yesterday, my brother was going to shift out so we were helping him in packing up stuff (by the time I am typing this, he had shifted out, I miss him, he big boy now). House was in a mess, so I was also not in the mood of cooking proper food. We ended up having instant noodle, adding vegetables and egg. I had one of my favourites, Malaysia brand Maggi Curry soup , among all the curry soup brand, I liked this the most. Have you tried? I watched before in…
Besides soft food like buns and bread, Jansen also feels like eating pumpkin soup so I cooked a creamy delicious pumpkin soup for him. This one only needs 5 ingredients; half pumpkin, 2 potatoes, one yellow onion, 3 cloves of garlic and butter for cooking. For seasoning I use a dash of salt and pepper and half teaspoon of chicken stock powder. Blended it with hand blender and we have a super creamy pumpkin soup. Jansen also needs to bulk up in calorie so I added one teaspoon…
Happy Weekend, Noise FamBam! 😊 We are happy that there is a new sundry shop just opened at our apartment's ground floor. It used to be opening and closing of different sundry shop, so we really hope this one will not close down. The boys said we should support them by giving them some business, they suggested to buy ice cream. Good idea since the weather is hot at 33°C. Also, since dietitian did mention we can get Jansen ice cream to bulk up his calories intake when he…
Happy Sunday Funday to Noisemates. Hope this day brings you new joy and new hope. After church, my friends and I went to a place called New Li Garden where they are several stalls in this huge space. Sadly, it used to have more stalls operating but after MCO, many stalls had closed down. Luckily one of the stalls which I like is still operating, I love especially her hand-torn noodle which comes with flavourful broth, topped with minced meat, also comes with side dish of her…
Good morning, Noise mates. I forgot to share this on Saturday. It was the sumptuous lunch cooked by my Aunt. As usual, I went to visit her, it is my Saturday routine. And she had yummy food for us. She baked a chicken with cherry tomatoes and celery. She cooked a braised potatoes with pork. And she fried an omelette with enoki. We are so blessed to have her cooking for us once a week. Have a great week ahead.💪🎉
Have you tried this before? This is Chinese pork knuckles/trotter with ginger and black vinegar. My friend cooked and delivered a portion for me, and so happened I really needed comfort food like this especially when I was exhausted last week. Usually, this is the main dish for our confinement period after giving birth due to the heat from ginger which is able to warm the body, the vinegar helps to break down the calcium from the pork bones which is very needed for a woman…
Look who is happy to receive his Sesame Street mug. I broke his Spiderman mug the other day, so when wanted to replace, he said he wanted Sesame Street instead of Spiderman this time. So, looks like his interest has changed. No more Spiderman fan but Sesame Street. I asked him, he said, Sesame Street No. 1, Spiderman No. 2. #CDHsurvivor #parenting
Recently, my eldest son prefers to reach school as early as 6:30am-6:45am because he wants to chit chat with friends. So, we reached school at 6:45am today, then my youngest and I and husband went to nearby park for a walk. This is a beautiful park with lake and also a mini playground for younger children. A rare early morning that we were out, so let's take a photo! 🌈(husband was at the lake side running, so just me and Jansen). Have a great Thursday, dear Noise mates.
While husband and youngest son were walking to the breakfast place after the walk at the park, they noticed I disappeared behind them. Haha. Coz I couldn't get my eyes off the arrays of morning glory flowers gazing at me. My camera lenses only could capture these few. There were sooooo many of them. Then, I walked faster to catch up, but the breakfast place had yet to open. So Jansen sat down at this section full of greeneries to wait for the shop to open. Love the concept…
"I hope I am able to read soon so that I can do at my own pace without need to wait for you to read for me." Homeschooling is never easy for me, I don't know why. I notice I can only cover 2 subjects per day, then I will be tired. I salute all teachers. Now, I am mainly focusing on Maths and English with him. Then we moved on to other fun activities book like this Star wars book given by his uncle @denion, or Hidden Pictures book, or IQ book or just play whole day. Or…
I love weekends, don't need to wake up at 5:50am but can sleep till 7am. Yuhoo! Good morning, diligent Noise mates! We had pizza yesterday for dinner, like finallyyyy! It was a delayed one actually. Supposed to have pizza night last week to celebrate my husband recovering from covid19 and also to celebrate Jansen wellness, but there was some unforeseen circumstances popped up. The boys were like, "Yayyyy! Finallyyy!" We have a guest at our house too, making our pizza dining…
After diligently helping Jansen to cut his hair for yearssss, finally he is okay to go to the barber for hair cut. He is used to this man who was the one helping him the last round. So he is glad to see the same hairstylist again. I still have the hair trimmer at home, but when I cut, it is not as nice and as neat. Good thing they have special price for children below 12yo on Saturday so we made full use of this privilege. After haircut, I to my Aunt's place for lunch. She…
