Finally, we get to try 'gula apong' ice cream at a shop nearby us. 'Gula apong' is in Malay language. Gula = sugar. Gula apong is Sarawak's famous palm sugar which comes from nipa palm tree. It looks like caramel but is all natural sweetness. The ice-cream drizzled with 'gula apong' is pleasantly yummy. The ice cream itself is smooth too. It comes with two free toppings!! I chose chocolate rice and ground peanut. A soothing treat especially during hot weather. Yums!
