A thirty-year-old woman, mother of two beautiful children, the youngest is seven years old and the oldest is twelve, in her daily routine on the way to school she felt bad with a pain in her belly that did not let her breathe, she thought it was colic and not ready greater attention, as the days passed the pain became more frequent and I was somewhat scared and feared that it was delicate.
One day she decided to go to the gynecologist for a check-up and ruled out any abnormality, when she got there the doctor kindly asked routine questions about how you feel, how frequent your menstruation is, do you suffer from any disease among many other things, then I send her to put on the gown for the internal checkup starting with an ultrasound where the cause of the discomfort was observed, surprise you are pregnant said the doctor!
The woman was stunned with the news, she could not believe it, since her menstruation was not constant as it should be every month. But wait, there's something else, the doctor exclaimed. What's wrong, doctor, is something wrong? I regret to inform you that if the baby is developing outside the uterus, it is an ectopic pregnancy and it must be removed as soon as possible.
At that moment, her mind went blank, two shocking news, one of which filled her with illusion and the other took them away in seconds.
Ectopic pregnancy had never heard of something like this, says the woman, the doctor explains that an ectopic pregnancy is when the fertilized ovum is installed outside the uterus and it is lodged in the left side of the fallopian tubes from there the pain comes, the fetus has 7 weeks of gestation and her heart is formed and you can even hear the heartbeat on the ultrasound, which makes us act immediately because at any moment the fallopian tube will rupture and this will cause a bleeding that is difficult to control and your life is in danger .
All changes in a matter of minutes, the doctor fills out the medical report referring the woman to the nearest public hospital with specific emergency indications, since she did not have an insurance policy that covered the operation or how to pay the high cost in a particular way .
The woman without wasting time gives notice to her husband and relatives about the situation while going to the hospital, when she gets there she shows the report, it is valued to corroborate the information indicated in the report, the doctor on duty together with the residents decide not to enter it to surgery for the extraction, instead of that they hospitalize her and apply a treatment for a period of six days with methotrexate so that this medicine acts on the fetus, disintegrating it and in this way it is expelled without having to go to the operating room.
This procedure in this patient was unsuccessful. The fetus was clinging to life and the medication did not affect it at all, instead, it increased its size a few more millimeters.
In view of this situation and the lost time, the woman was admitted to the operating room for an emergency cesarean section on July 20, 2019 at 12:45 pm, her heart was racing and the nerves prevented the anesthesia from taking effect, they managed to completely sedate her This was his third cesarean section and he made the decision that it would be the last, the doctors did an excellent job, the surgery was a success, there he said goodbye to that baby who came as a surprise and was not born.
The hardest part was accepting the loss after hearing her heart beat, seeing all those women give birth to their children and having to leave without a baby in their arms, the recovery was a bit slow, the cesarean section and Ligation is not easy at all, it is painful and uncomfortable, but two years have passed since that event and today I am here sharing my experience with you.
At that time I did not know the meaning of an ectopic pregnancy and I want to emphasize that this type of pregnancy is not caused by something specific and can happen to any woman. Life put me before that situation and I managed to emerge victorious from it, I thank God for taking care of me at all times and allowing me to return home with my little ones.
