upon teaching and mentoring some people about fitness and their physique I've just remembered this question and it is actually serious.
"I eat a lot, Why I didn't gain weight?
Well, number one reason is you're an ectomorph body type plus aren't eating too much Ectomorphic describes as Thin, lean, and long and they have a fast or high metabolism. Struggling too much at eating basically a "Hard gainers"
Some reasons are:
Frequent Physical Activity
This seems to be normal especially If you're an athlete such as; Runner, Triathlete or Swimmer, etc. Upon doing a lot of movement on this physical activity you really burn a significant amount of calories.
well, some people have low BMI because they inherited it from their family and got those physical attributes.
Mental Illness or Eating Disorder
Having poor mental health can affect your eating habits, appetite, and diet.
If you can't handle stress and anxiety properly this factor occurs and it's really a struggle, and it can result in no food to take at all so watch out for this disorder.
How can we handle this Underweight thing?
Reduce Body Stress
You can reduce your stress by doing yoga or meditation, also you can try deep breathing exercises.
Increase your food-intake
Take small meals every 3-4 hours and make sure that the foods you've taken are rich in carbohydrates and protein. Veggies and fruit are a good source for this.
There's an exercise that can help to improve your weight such as powerlifting or bodyweight exercises and Don't do cardio too much it is not advisable.
The goal is to gain, not to lose!
