The power of making choices There is an undeniable power that comes with making decisions. The liberating force that enables us to take control over every aspect of our lives. Upto what extent do we take that ability? Do we use it only for our own sakes? or do we take into consideration how our choices affect everyone and everything around us. I was never one to have control over the things I do. My parents were authoritative and used to make all my decisions for me. It didn't bother me that much especially since I grew up thinking that they would always know what's best for me. However, growing up, having been able to talk to multitudes of diverse people. I came to realize how important it is to have your own voice followed when it came to matters of your own life. I can easily find myself relating to the story of a family secluded from the outside world by their father. It is an exaggerated comparison, but nonetheless I felt how they felt: Emotionally unstable; Socially awkward; Culturally shocked; and, Physically conscious. Although they were literally secluded from everyone, stuck in an apartment for most of their formative years. I was with them for having barely no voice in making life choices. I was so used to others making choices for me that I became someone who had a hard time saying "no". It was a word I was not familiar with. I was always accustomed to conforming to whatever others wanted from me. There were times when I would crave having a choice that usually would lead to me building grudges towards those who often steals that power from me. However, I never acted on that craving, I never rebelled against people who had their hands over my life. So when it came to a point that I was given a chance to choose, I panicked. Hearing someone say "I want to know what you want" made my heart flutter but my anxiety grew alongside it. It was bliss that danced with trauma. I was so scared of making a decision for my own and having no one to blame if all things go wrong. For this I realized how much I needed to grow as an individual. I needed to discover my own voice, my personal beliefs, my wants and needs, and everything in-between. I now have this understanding that in order for one to make valid decisions for themselves, they need to have a solid foundation of their identity. I am marking this day as a start of me discovering who I am and to decide on things accordingly.

It Ends With Us (Book Review) **It ends with us by Colleen Hoover** Who knew a book can be so personal and yet be so relatable to a lot of people. This book is one of the most personal novels written by Colleen Hoover since she based this story from her own life story and portrayed it in a way that everyone, one way or another, could understand. At first this fictional book seems like a cliche Young Adults novel however, when you get pass through some chapters you'll realize that it is more than just a plot of romance. Abuse is one hot topic in our society today and this book tackles it from different angles. To give you an idea without actually spoiling the book, it is about a girl who was raised in an abusive family. A girl who promised herself to never be in the situation her mother was in. What would she do if she realized she was following her footstep, forgiving the man she loves for every hit she takes? I highly reccomend this book if you want to be aware and conscious about abuse, if you are going through abuse, and if you know someone who is abused. Read with caution though, it may trigger some of you. Always prepare some napkins for those unexpected tears. Reach out to someone you love if ever you need someone to talk to. My DMs are always open too if you want to talk to a stranger and need some help. You can try download the soft copy of the book online 😉 Leave a comment below if you have read the book or if you want to read the book and why.

No one in Everyone *I'm always surrounded by people* *and yet I feel alone.* *I see myself outside looking in* *even though I call this place my home* *I enjoy my time talking to others* *but somehow I still feel unheard.* *I know my friends do love me* *but I guess I don't love myself* *I wonder what is wrong me* *feeling sad for being there.* Okay! so written above is a poem of feeling alone in a crowded room. I don't know about you guys, but I for one have felt this way for more than just one occasion, and I am here to tell you that it is okay! No one should ever feel obligated to feel better just because they are surrounded by people who love them. Take your time, breathe, let the people who truly love you see the dark side of your smile. If they are sincere they will stay, but if they leave, take no account for that. That is their choice and they shouldn't matter more to you than how you matter to yourself. Once you feel like your back up standing in your own two feet, remember to strive and appreciate the people who stayed through your worse to see your best. If no one stayed then celebrate your own victories. You shouldn't feel less successful if no one is genuinely happy for you. You can be your own cheerleader and it's okay! There is no rulebook in life that someone else should cheer us and support us in everything we do. Yes! I know it would be better if there was someone there however, no one can ever be there for you 100% like you can be for yourself. Everybody is going through somethings on their own so you should never lean and depend your happiness on anyone but yourself. I am not telling you to shut the world out, I am telling you to love yourself first. This way no matter how crowded or how empty a room is you can still be happy. Relationships are just bonuses that will serve as an icing on your supper yummy "self" cake. So yes to conclude the poem: *I came to realize,* *I can never be happy with anyone or anywhere.* *Unless I learn to be happy with myself.*

@nicdre09

You do you! I got to this point in life where barely anything matters anymore. I don't think it's because I'm hating life, in contrary, I think it is more about me loving my life and recognizing who and what to prioritize. Imagine being someone who tried to please everybody, someone who struggled to juggle everything all at once. That life could be so exhausting, not unless you are someone with superhuman strengths that can withstand all that internal turmoil coupled with external pressure. I guess what I'm trying to say is that realizing who and what matters most to you will lead you to a much more simpler life. One that doesn't make you feel bad for not being readily available to act on something for someone. Choosing to prioritize yourself and your peace isn't something that you should be guilty of. Trust your own gut and believe that by doing what brings you peace will lead you to peace. CUT OFF everyone who bothers you and lean towards people and situations that will understand your choices, supports you and would guide and lead you if ever you stray from what you want. Don't ever feel sorry for choosing to be you. Never apologize for being your natural blessed and amazing self. Remember that someone would always look highly of you and that someone does LOVE YOU. YOU DO YOU people! and in the same way let others be their true selves around you. Let us eliminate judgement and let us prevail in understanding. LOVE LOTS, Nicole

@nicdre09

Duality: In my eyes Yes or no, up or down, agree or disagree, what ifs or oh wells. Life is just a series of choices that one should make every passing moment. Every decision we make impacts the outcome which will soon affect your next choice to a decision. As someone who believes in the duality of life, I find decision making very hard and overwhelming. I overthink every possible outcome from both options and weigh in their pros and cons. However, I still see a silver lining from either side that usually ends up draining me from confusion and dissolution. Duality as a perspective for me has its own pros and cons. An advantage would be is for a person to be more understanding with both sides to a situation. A person who believes in the duality of life would be one to argue with himself as an alter person. Don't get me wrong people who see the 2 sides of a coin do have principles that they stand firm about. One of which is to always listen to both sides of the story. Always be open to knowing more to be able to comprehend more. I am a person who believes in the duality or paradox of life and I would give you a concrete example. In a relationship, there would be times I would encounter a quote which would be something like "If he loves you he will stay, no matter what" and in my mind I agreed to this quote. However the alter side of me tells me "but if you love someone then you would be the one to stay with them, no matter what". So where do people living in a paradoxical perspective rest their thoughts and decide? I recommend one to just sit still and read through both sides then close your eyes pray and feel your own emotions. When you open your eyes, trust your gut feel and choose the option that would bring you more peace and happiness. In such instances however I would still keep my mind open to understanding the other side of the realm I am in but take note to just be open but do not regret your choices. If you live in regret nothing will ever be enough for you. Choose and live by your decision, if you think you made the wrong choice then in the next decisions you need to do better choose wisely by taking into consideration the outcomes of your past choices. I'm back and I'm sorry for that hiatus that I was in. Comment down below topics you want. me to talk about or to write a poem about. I can also try to write poems for your special someone. Just DM me in my twitter account linked in my profile.

Short Poems Collection Your eyes lingered a little too much. Too much that I felt every second of it. Every moving second felt like an eternity. An eternity I would be paying for in my memory. Maybe I'm scared of falling asleep 'cause I'll wake up to a reality where you no longer want me. Never have I ever felt better and worse at the same time on the day I decided to leave you. I held on too tight and choked you. I held on too loose and lost you I held on just right and still you left me I never held on to anyone else cause you scarred me. The longer I spend time talking to you the more I crave knowing everything about you. Rekindled love can be beautiful and poisonous in either forms. I took a step back when I heard your name It sounded like danger that my heart can't bear. I built my walls up to prevent you from coming in. Not being aware I'd fall from the same walls I made. Where would you run to if the person you're running from is the same person you call your home? Thank you for reading. LOVE LOTS. this is a collection of my short thoughts or poems that I want to share in this community.

Forgive me I left, I am sorry, but I am not regretting it. I left and it hurt you, what should have I done instead? I left, it's over. Please stop talking in my head. I left, it broke me, you just can't see it yet. If I stayed and held on, nothing will ever change. If I stayed and trusted you, I would have gone insane. If I stayed and endured everything, I'll be the one to blame. If I stayed and kissed you, I would never have escaped. Forgive me for choosing what I think is best for us. Forgive me, I gave up and placed you in the past Forgive me, I saved myself from drowning in the dust. Forgive me for I can no longer wear a happy mask. Hi y'all Read.Cash readers. Here is a poem I wrote inspired by everyone who is walking out from a toxic relationship. Just know that I support your decision in cutting off toxic people from your life especially if you have given them multiple chances to change or be better. You are not alone and you can definitely hit me up and I will be willing to lend an ear to listen to you guys. Thanks for reading. Love lots and enjoy.

like coffee I used to drink coffee with lots of milk and sugar. That's my way to cover up the bitter taste of a dark roast. I used to drink coffee for the feeling that I get after. Awake , happy, filled with energy to smile and face a new day. Like coffee, I took every taste of bitterness from you and covered it up with our sweet memories. Like coffee, I enjoyed the warmth of your love even when my tongue is burning from your boiling temper. Like coffee, I accepted the consequences of being with you, blindly disregarding your toxicity to my unwell body. But now, like coffee, I will face you in your purest form. Bitter, dark and heated. like coffee, I will drink your caffeine, not to be happy, not to stay but to wake up in a reality that you are not there for me. I love coffee so I wrote this while drinking one. Sorry for the continuous dramatic poems hihi. Thanks for reading. Love lots

Nothingness I was scrolling pass through your name in my friends list. Your name that usually was on top of my message board. Your name that meant the world to me 2 months prior. I realized how your name have made me feel the extremities of emotion. Your name gave me blissful moments of laughter and love. Your name offered me comfort and shelter from my fears and evils. Your name made me jealous when I heard it out of another girl's lips. It was also your name that made me experience pain, pain that seemed surreal. Isn't it funny how the value of a name can change in a single heartbeat. From the most meaningful word in my vocabulary that faded to nothingness that I forgot eventually. Good morning Read.Cash Family. So I am back, yet again, with another poem of which not in the positive nature. I hope you like it. Thanks for reading Tried to write like Lang Leuv. haha Sorry if I failed. 😅

She Used To Be Mine (a poem) -inspired by the song of Sara Bareilles I looked at the mirror and realized something is missing. I don't really know what, but I'm sure, something is missing. My eyes gazed from head to toe, Oh please tell me, what am I missing? I stopped and stared long into my eyes, I then figured what I was missing. There is a girl in front of me, pretty, exposed with a smile Her lips are curved upward, rose colored, such a beautiful smile. However, I still see it, something's wrong with that smile. Her eyes are empty, like a blank soul disguised with a smile. She tried to hide it, with her new hair, you'd think she's better. She faked it till she made it. No clue that she's not getting better. I see her efforts, I see what she wants, but is it really for the better? If time came and she saw her eyes, I doubt she'll think she's better. I remember a girl who once felt imperfect, and yes! she used to be mine. She would hate herself but love everyone around her. Oh yes! she used to be mine In her eyes the world is an adventure, a place of fun and mystery. It's true, she used to be mine. A girl full of flaws, wonder and insecurities. A girl imperfect, but at least she used to be mine. Hi, guys! I hope you like this poem. I am in love with this song and I just felt inspired all of the sudden. Here is a link to the video of the song in case you haven't heard it already. https://youtu.be/53GIADHxVzM

Steps towards Growth I know some of us has experienced latency in our lives. Being stagnant to what we already know and what we already do is a scenario not new to most of us. These are some steps we can take to come closer to growth and development MOVE OUT Move out of your comfort zone. Step out to a world full of opportunities to learn. Move out of bad habits that are keeping you dormant instead of growing. Remember that growth is dictated by the environment we put ourselves in. If we keep on staying in a box, we can only grow as big as that box. So move out and take in the lessons of life. MOVE ON Easier said than done. Moving on isn't only applicable to people who just experienced heartbreak. It is a phrase we can all do. Move on to something new. Move on from past traumas. Move on from things that are only keeping you from growing. Move on and cut ties from negativity around you. Surround yourself with people that only wants to see you grow into your full potential. MOVE UP So what is the difference with moving on and moving forward. Moving on means you are moving away from what was, moving up means you are moving towards something greater. A step towards your goal. Just like graduating from high school, you are moving up to college or the like. Move up to things you didn't expect you could reach. MOVE SMARTER This is the most important step. To move smarter than before. To make decisions that will make an impact to your life. Be smart and take your time. Every decision is essential to create your path towards where you want to go. MOVE SMARTER, LIVE BETTER As a summary : Too many threads to cut to move out. Too many things to leave behind to move on. Too many doors to open to move up. Too many decisions to make to move smarter. move OUT, move ON, move UP, move Smarter Good Morning Read.Cash community. Prioritize your growth and everything else will follow. Comment down below your own journey towards growth.

LOVE yourself **L - learn about yourself** You are the only person who knows yourself the best. Learn and discover new things about yourself every day. Try every skill you can think of; arts and crafts, music, dance, technical skills, and the like. You will be amazed by things you thought you could not do. Explore every crooks and cranny of your physical, emotional, and spiritual body. If you do this no one else can tell you who you are. No word ever thrown to you will ever matter anymore. Insecurities will fly away with the air of inner peace replacing it. **O - own your mistakes** If things don't go as well as planned and you make mistakes know that it is inevitable for us human beings. Failures and disappointments are there for us to learn and take new steps toward change and development. If you take our mistakes as our own, we wouldn't need to blame others for every small mishaps in our lives. If we know how to accept our wrong decisions the no one can tell us what and what not to do. **V - value your whole being** You are you and you are special. No one else will love you and value you better than yourself. You will come to realize that to lobe yourself completely you have to love even the parts of you that you hate. Love every insecurity. Know that there is value even in the most unexpected places. If you value yourself well enough, it will reflect to everyone and they will be afraid to treat you any lesser than you treat yourself. You are a unique human being that deserves more than you expect. Believe that you are priceless. **E - evaluate your own progress** Like schoolwork we are given tests in life that will teach us lessons that we need to learn. With this lessons we grew and developed to who we are now and will grow to who we will be. We should learn to assess and reflect on ourselves with every little progress we made. Every step forward counts. Like teachers, we should reward and appreciate victories and success by treating ourselves and be happy. Likewise, we should learn when to say no and direct ourselves towards the right path if we evaluate our progress going down hill or taking a left turn. Always remember! We are in control of ourselves and our lives. We alone have the remote to steer ourselves to the outcomes, and dreams we have. Thanks for reading. Share your thoughts in the comments below. TAG : Movie Review If you're a fan of true stories but is sometimes put offed by the drama. This is the film for you. Tag is a comedy movie based on a true story of a group of friends and a game called tag. When I say friends who are playing tag, I don't mean kids in elementary school. This group of friends are adults and professionals that are kept together by the game tag. Remember those times where you would play with your friends and everything just seems to be fun, happy and okay. I bet all of us would want to go back to those memories once in a while. That is what these friends have, they have a bond that takes them back to the fun that they once had. People say that fun ends when you grow up when in reality fun ends when you stop playing. This comedy film might seem to be all jokes and humor, however it would give the viewer life lessons worth learning.

Laundry Imagine that we are all a piece of clothing. Unique in different aspects; size, color, texture, design, purpose. However, we share one commonality, we all get dirty. We all have pasts that leaves a mark in our lives. A stain that we want to remove. That is where laundry comes in like life. The process of getting beaten up by the machine. Getting spun over multiple of times until we come out cleaner and better. We as people are clothes and past mistakes are stains. The washing machine serves as our life lessons that will shape us to who we will become. We are still us but a version that undergoes dry cleaning. We are unique like clothes, but we live in one world where problems are inevitable. Stay strong and hold on to life and hope. You can always reach out to me if you need someone to talk to. *lead image from unsplash free photos*

Weight Loss Journey: Week 2 update Hello read.cash community. As promised, here is my weekly update on my weight loss journey into fitting to my old clothes again. So far so good, or so I think. If I don't look at the mirror and if I don't try my old clothes on, I cam genuinely say how I feel lighter and cleaner after a week of changing my diet and starting exercises. For my first week, I opted to replace and minimized my rice intake by substituting it with boiled sweet potato and Saba Banana. I also started with dance exercises from MadFit Youtube channel. I recommend her dance videos for beginners like me or for those who do not like to do the High Intensity kinds of workout. For this week, I asked my parents to buy other root crops for me to have other alternatives like; gabi, potato, and carrots. Along side this, I am discovering new ways to cook such raw ingredients. I recently have tried to cook some baked potatoes. I am planning to learn how to cook some good mashed potatoes. In addition to this week, I bought a 2.6L water jug for me to keep track of my water intake everyday. I am so thankful to read.cash forthat because I managed to save up all my earning here to buy the jug and not having to rely on my parents. In the near future, I am going to save up for a yoga mat since I always hurt my knees whenever I do my stretches. Thank you to everyone who is supporting me, and to any one who wants to start the journey too, I am always open for you guys to talk to. I am still accepting recommendations for exercises or youtube channels for reference and other weight loss tips. Thank you in advance. Lead image is from unsplash free photos*

Kintsugi: a lesson from arts One way or another, we are all scarred and bruised from bad experiences we had from the past. Most often than not, we are embarrased to reveal these scars to others. It became a mindset that we should keep our past and scars hidden deep in our closets. Scars come in different degrees. There are emotional scars, physical scars, spiritual scars and the like. We all have them, but we are ashamed of them. We are afraid that the scars will define us as who we were in the past. Kintsugi is a Japanese art where they put together broken pieces of a pottery using gold. The Gold will highlight every breakage in the pottery and ironically will make the broken piece even more valuable than what it was. This is a lesson that we should all learn from Kintsugi. Instead of hiding and being ashamed of our scars, we should highlight them as each scar tells a story of how we grew to become more precious and better. The cracks shows others that we are strong enough to put each piece of ourselves together to create a new and improved being. The scars will not define us, it will just add more value to what was already a fine piece of art. Learn from your past and let it mold you to the person who you want to become. Comment down below your thoughts about this. I hope you start trusting yourself despite the process of breaking

Alone I bleed only to speak the truth especially when I know it's nothing to you. I'm blinded by the lies you said that you would be here to help and protect. Sometimes, I try to pretend that I'm okay, but what I feel is just too much to contain. They tell me it's pathetic, They tell me I'm emotionally sick. I bleed in the realization that I am nothing to you, that in anything I do, you won't give a damn, that's true. I try to understand, that maybe, this is just for now, you're just too busy to see, to hear, to feel. Maybe I'm afraid, afraid to feel alone, but then I remember, when have I not felt alone. Hi, I'm back with another sad poem. Hope you like it.
