Home is where we honed everything in us, from being a toddler who learns how to use the pacifier and to stand using the wall to hold on, to being a kid who learns some skills in playing with other kids, a teenager whose torn between using the microwave and heater, then here comes the mature ones in learning how to handle the bills since you take over the responsibilities, everything starts at home.
As I was sitting earlier tending to my niece since I am still in charge of being her nanny and since I and my son were having a cold war with each other, I kept looking at the outskirts of our house and there I saw how lucky I am that my home is surrounded still with trees.

#LetTheEarthBreath trended just last month regarding those scientists who predicted the earth's condition and the need to take action to help it restore itself.
I guess being lucky is such an understatement since seeing greens and trees around your home has been a wish of many people living in the rural areas and also those living near plantations with such populated air surrounding them.
Then I decided to take a tour with my little one( my niece was still sleeping so I had the chance to roam around) and capture such beauty surrounding our little home.
That's our little house on the left side and Tito's (Papz's Eldest brother)house on the right side. There are a lot of mango trees surrounding us and believe it or not I only just knew today that Papz and his other siblings we're the ones who plant some of the mangoes here. Mostly they planted the Indian mangoes and the carabao mangoes in our backyard and below the house.
This is the Spanish Plum "sinegwelas" that Papz planted, as you can see it still had its tiny body with little branches for he planted it I think it was four or five years ago, the other tree just on the left part in the back is the watery rose apple "tambis" which was planted by Papz's youngest brother. As you can observe we had a lot of fruits near our yard since Papz's family loves planting trees that bear fruits so they can consume them during harvest season.
These boulders and such big rocks are just above the house, they gently sleep but they grow as the years go by. If some of you remember my article about how damaged our house had been after typhoon Odette hits Central Visayas. One of these rocks cracked and some of it fell just beside our house, breaking our washing machine into pieces. If not for the washing machine the rock would hit the wall and would shatter the windows and the refrigerator would be damaged too. That's how dangerous these rocks are to us but we lived with them so we just prayed that the trees that we planted around them can protect us in the future. Papz said that these rocks lived first than their ancestors.
This mango tree was standing tall way back in elementary days up until Typhoon Yolanda came that it crack and lean on the big rocks around it. As you can see my son looked too small hiding behind the tree. That's how big it is, and it just leans there. When the pandemic started, this was once our play area, we set our hammocks on its branches and enjoyed the shelter it gives to us from the direct heat of sunlight. The kids also enjoyed playing with the swing that Papz installed before. But when we came back to work and no one can look out for the kids while playing that it became deserted now.
These big rocks we're located just behind the house, by the size of the coconut tree you can already tell just how big these rocks are. I witnessed once that Gramps planted some orange in between these rocks since the soil here are those like the black ones that were usually used to be put in the pot so that the plants will grow healthily. Since the rocks surrounding are cold and the soil is healthy so the oranges grew too well and even bear fruit. But I didn't get to eat some since Grampz sells it too eagerly while we are away from home.
My little one looked too small putting his hands on the rock. It's not that dangerous for this rock is just too wide and so big that it's impossible for it to slide and crush us.
Some wild plants on our way back to our little hut. It has no smell and I don't also know its name but I commonly saw such kind near the river. It's rare to see something like this around the house. It seems pretty to me that's why I captured it.
Since I can't climb the big rock on the top anymore to see the magnificent sunset I settle on capturing this. It still looks beautiful to me for I ended the day with such a view.
I always said that I always love coming home for I love how refreshing it is smelling the fresh air and the cold air coming from the trees around.
I hope you enjoyed the little y tour around my home.
Thank you for reading!
Be blessed and be a blessing!
