Christmas is one of the season I am most anticipating aside from Mother's/Father's day. It's the season when I get to receive and give love to all my love ones and my friends and the people whom are dear to me.
Reminiscing my childhood days, I never experience having an elegant Christmas tree. We often made DIY Christmas trees like a branch of Guava tree with lots of mini branches on it and Mama would put some garlands and a little artificial flower in it and then Papz would put some series lights to make it more beautiful and it would lit our little home's living room. Then me and my siblings will play around it and keep singing Christmas carols that we often heard when there were kids going to our house to sing Christmas Carols.
Every first day of December, we always greet our families, friends, neighbors and whom we met along the way Merry Christmas . Me and my friends would shout "Merry Christmas" over each others house for Papz never allow us to go out even if it's Christmas break from school.
And also at the start of the month I would vocalize internally or sometimes sang in our comfort room. Why? Because back when my Yoyong(Grandpa) was still alive he would organize different contest with big prizes, and when we talk about big prizes when we were kids were talking about 50php($1.00) in cash or sometimes one kilo of rice or some sweets. Mostly the contests are color game, statue dance, catch me if you can, guess the song, dance and singing contest.
My eldest sister, was the one who always wins during singing contest because she has a voice like a swan while I have the frog one as per my cousins lol! I don't mind as long as I enjoy it. And mind you the song that we need to sing is " My Love Will See you Through" which was my yoyong's favorite song. So Imagine if we are 5 contestants joining so they'll hear the same song five times but with different tunes. Oh Yoyong's fave song was for the girls and Yoyang's "Without Love" is for the boys,,,lol! they're very high notes kind of songs mygash...
11th Mass ( Misa de Gallo)
This is also one of the reason that excites me whenever Christmas is mention is to attend and complete the nine days attending Misa de Gallo.
You know when you had to get up at 3am and then take a very cold shower to wake your system and then when you go out all your friends are waiting so that you'll walk together on your way to the chapel for the mass.
I also love the songs being sang during misa de gallo, it's different from the usual songs you heard during mass which made it more special and many people anticipating it.

What I also love about Christmas is party, the different theme of Christmas being organized by different department and the competition of the best Christmas Belen and Christmas Tree.
The most exciting part is the gift giving and the opening of presents. My family always do it after attending the Christmas Eve mass and dinner. We distribute each gift to each one of us. Before when we were kids we only had three gift under our DIY Christmas tree. Now the me and my siblings are working and we also have kids at home, the Christmas tree are full of gifts now, not only for the kids but also for our parents.
Also when we go to our Grandparents house we also bring gifts for them and also gifts allocated for the exchanging gifts with other kids.
What I want for this Christmas is nothing much, good health for my family. And for those people who have grudges against other would heal and reconcile. I wish to show love and to give love. May it be in a simple saying of "Thank you, I love you, I'm sorry, You did well." would lift up the mood of the other.
It will be the fifth year that I'll be celebrating Christmas with my son and I know I've been lacking so much especially on giving him all my time. But I always told him that what Mama was doing was for me to provide all he needs.
