Miracles, Sometimes It's a Stair

Miracles. They define miracles as extraordinary events manifesting divine intervention in the human realm. Basically, miracles are looked upon as works of celestial beings or by God Himself.

A miracle can be seen as an act or an achievement that no human could possibly do or attain. The common forms of miracles that we see are those people with terminal illnesses that are being cured or healed purely by faith or by accident. These are the cases that no doctor could explain. These are the cases that our modern science and technology could never replicate. Hence miracles.

Some miracles go over and beyond healing. Some miracles even defy death. Some people came back to life after going beyond death itself. If that isn't a miracle, then I don't know what is.

So why am I blabbering about miracles and divine interventions?

Yes! You guessed it right. I was watching some show late at night and it happened to discuss some miraculous things. Some of them made quite an impression on me that I still think about them until now. I have seen that show for a couple of weeks now, but the stories are still fresh in my mind.

The Guardian Angel

Do you believe in guardian angels? Do you think that there is one particular being assigned to you to guide you, that one whispering in your ear whenever you are torn in between a good and a bad choice? That being that will protect you from harm whenever you need it the most?

One segment of the show tackled this. The story was told by a middle-aged man and he was relating his experience with what he believed was his guardian angel.

The man was driving one dark night on a lonely road far away from any major roads. As luck would have it, his car broke down and wouldn't even start. He tried to fix it but he couldn't see what the problem was.

It is also important to note that this was before the time of mobile phones or even car telephones. Personally, though, I don't think carphones were ever a thing here in my country. We skipped some generations, I think. Anyway, he has no way of contacting anybody from home or from the car service industry so he's got only a limited set of choices.

He could walk and leave his car, he can wait for someone to help him, he could tinker around the engine, or he could just wait for a miracle to happen.

It started raining and the guy decided to wait inside his car. He rolled the window a bit and reclined his seat all the way back.

About some hour and a half or so, a pickup truck drove past him. And a few meters after, the car drove in reverse and stopped so their windows are next to each other.

The driver of the pickup then rolled down his window and told the man the exact problem of his car. How did the truck driver know that is beyond our wildest imagination. The pickup truck driver knowing the exact problem of the car is not even an issue, according to the man, it was weird and it was strange. He felt no danger or no doubt about the driver of the truck. He said that he was just at ease with that stranger, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere.

The driver of the truck offered to help him fix the car and the man didn't hesitate. Apparently, he was just so comfortable with the pickup driver that he didn't fear for his safety even in the slightest.

The driver went down the car's engine with a wrench of the exact same size as required and tinker upon it for a short time and he was able to fix it.

The guy then thanked the pickup driver and told him that he was going home and he said the name of the town.

The driver of the truck nodded at him with a smile and said "I know." And they drove opposite each other.

Now, isn't that story miraculous or what? That random stranger knows exactly what's wrong with the car, brought the exact same wrench needed to do the job, and knows exactly where the man is going?

Staircase to Heaven

This one's a bit more popular than the first story. This story is about the Sisters of Loretto and the miraculous stairs of the Loretto Chapel.

When the sisters arrived in Santa Fe, New Mexico they commissioned two French architects to build a chapel in the place. They did so for about some time but before the chapel is fully complete, the architect died and he left the church without a stair going to the choir loft. Everything else was apparently done except for the stairs going up to the place where the choir would be situated during the masses.

The sisters then talked to local carpenters and other builders to build them the staircase. No one accepted the job since everyone told that a staircase would be impossible to build under the circumstances, the place was too small to build a functional staircase.

In desperation, the sisters performed a novena praying to St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. They prayed to him for the completion of the stairs. On the 9th day of the novena, a stranger came to the chapel seeking a job. The sisters offered the stranger the job for the stairs and the man accepted it. Using only three basic tools, the man erected the unbelievable staircase within a few months.

There were no nails used in the building of the stairs, the wood used was of an unknown species and the whole staircase does not have central support that keeps it standing upright. But even with all these mysteries, the staircase was functional and could even support multiple adult persons in one go.

The stranger just vanished without a trace after completing the stairs, he didn't even wait to be paid and no one knows his name.

Engineers and architects marveled upon the staircase and they could only guess and speculate how the staircase has been built and how the logic and physics of it works.

The sisters believe that it was St. Joseph himself who helped them build the beautiful staircase.

Alakazam!!

How are you this fine day? I hope that you are in great if not the best condition.

So, what about you? Do you believe in miracles? Or perhaps, you know a story or two about something inexplicably extraordinary? Or maybe you have experienced a miracle too? I would love to hear from you. I hope that you visit in the comment section and let's just stop and talk for a while.

Anyways, I would like to send my deepest gratitude to you for your usual support and as always...

Cheers!!!

There are people I know who have had miracles happen to them, they died in an accident and then came back to life thanks to prayers. Miracles do exist, you just have to believe in them and have a lot of faith.

up until now, I do still believe in guardian angels. Kasi there are times na sobrang down ko na to the point na kung ano ano na ang sumasagi sa isip ko. And thankfully I heard voices in my head not to do stupid things

Naniniwala ako dito. I remember nung buntis ako kay Prince, first trimester at maselan ako nun. Nahulog ako sa hagdan from second floor hanggang baba pero di ko naramdaman na dumampi yung pwet ko sa sahig. Tapos wala din ako natamo na sugat or galos and safe din si baby. I know it was our Ate (my first unborn) who saved us.

I love to read stuffs like this. I was always left wondering, trying to make it make sense. Somehow there mybe something we just missed, but that missing links is nowhere to be found; thus, it's really a miracle, only the deities can explain.
