Her Missing Puss...Meow

"Hey Perv, going to the club room now?" Momo asked Jeremy while they were packing their things at the end of the classes.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Here." Momo gave Jeremy an economic bag that's a tad heavy. He took it and he was not expecting how heavy it was so he nearly let it fall on the floor with all his weight coming down. He regained his stance and looked at Momo with questioning eyes.

"What is this? Is there a bowling ball in there? It's so heavy."

"It's a pot. That's why I am asking you to carry it for me. It's so heavy. You wouldn't let a frail and helpless damsel like me carry that around right?"

"Then why did you bring it here?"

"No, I didn't, Ms. Erika gave it to me. I was just thinking to have an indoor plant now. Let's go, quit your whining. You're such a baby. "

Momo then turned around and made her way to the door. She stopped at the doorway and waved to Jeremy to follow suit. And he did.

When they arrived at the club meeting room, everyone else was already there. They took their respective seats.

"Hey, Jeremy, what was in the bag? Isn't that Momo's?" Junjun exclaimed.

"A~~~reeeeee...... So you are carrying Momo's stuff now? Don't tell me you..." Alice asked in a teasing manner while her eyebrows were bouncing up and down as if waiting for an answer from the two of them.

Mari sat there with her eyes fixated on Momo. She's turning red and about to burst when Megumi stood up and walked over to Jeremy.

"Are you guys dating?"

"W....ww.....what? What?" Jeremy hesitated, paused for a bit then shot a glance at Momo who looked like she was not hearing anything as she was fiddling her fingernails.

Mari shot her head back and it's as if the soul from her body came out from her mouth and she laid restless and dead.

"What? No. I was just helping her because it's heavy." Jeremy then said. Mari's soul came back to her body and she was alive once again.

"What's with the hesitation perv? What? You wouldn't want to date me?" Momo asked while still looking at her fingernails.

Everyone was silent and even Jeremy did not know how to react.

'"Ahem. So what was the request again Junjun?" Mari shot out of nowhere.

"Oh oh yes, the request. So here it is. Someone left a message on our board asking us for help to find her cat. This cat." Junjun then showed them the image of a black cat.

"Whose cat was that anyway?" Jeremy asked.

"No names indicated, but the owner gave us the number, we are to call once we find the cat," Junjun replied.

"Alright. So we go look in pairs around the neighborhood. Call each other once we find something. Okay?" Alice stated.

"I'll go with Jeremy" Junjun suggested and he was met with instant resistance from Megumi and Mari. They both looked at each other with fire in their eyes.

"What? Why do you want to go with him?" Mari asked Megumi.

"I should go with him, we battled together in our past lives. We are sworn brothers. But why do you want to go with him? Don't you have that whole crew to help you?"

"Well, they are busy with their own clubs and... well just ... just.. just because!" Mari snapped.

"Why don't we just draw lots to pair each other," Junjun suggested and they all agreed.

Mari was successfully paired with Jeremy. Junjun is with Momo, and it's Alice and Megumi who ended up together.

The group went outside and they scattered around the area according to their pairs. Momo and Junjun stayed within the school vicinity. The pair of Alice and Megumi went east of the school's neighboring area while Mari and Jeremy proceeded to comb the west side of the school.

"Kuro...Kuro..." they were calling out for the cat as they were looking at every conspicuous place a cat could go to. From the rooves of the houses and even behind the dumpsters.

The group was out and about for a couple of hours and the labor of their search seemed to be not bearing fruit at all. The dusk was starting to envelop the skies and they were all just about to return to the clubroom.

Junjun sent a message that they are going back to the room, Alice also did the same.

Mari was reading the message and her face was just as dark as the night sky. She seemed to be really disappointed that they had to halt the search without finding the cat.

Jeremy noticed her face. "Hey, are you alright?"

"Ah. Hmm. yeah. Let's go back."

"Tell you what? Why don't we look around for a little while longer?"

Mari's face lit up and she nodded. "Let's do that."

They walked a little further away from the school and they reached a deserted park. They were looking around, high and low, and then Mari heard something.

"Hey, do you hear that? Sshhh...."

"Yes I do... I think it's coming from that tree. Up there." Jeremy said as he walked towards a tall tree while looking up. He turned the light of his cellphone and sure enough, there was the cat on top of the tree.

It looked like it was scared, and it looked like he could not climb down.

"Hey Mari, there he is. But..."

"Don't tell me you don't know how to climb a tree?"

"Well... yeah.. but."

"Okay. Here, hold my bat." Mari said as she gave the baseball bat she was holding to Jeremy.

"Wait, are you sure? Shouldn't we just call for help? I mean, I don't want you to get hurt. What if you fall?"

"Well, then, just catch me." Mari then went on climbing the tree.

Jeremy stood there all confused.

Mari successfully fetched the cat and they both made it down safely. And then she recalled what she just said to Jeremy ... just catch me...catch me... and her face lit up in a reddish light.

Jeremy was looking up all the while and he was so nervous for Mari that he didn't notice that he was seeing something that he wasn't supposed to see. It was pink, it has some laces on the side. Why do girls like laces anyway? He thought to himself. And it wasn't in his intention but the word just came out of his mouth, in awe, in surprise, and in joy -- 'pink'.

As soon as Mari heard the word pink, her face became even redder and she started to panic that she lost her footing. The branch that they were on shook and she abruptly started her descent.

She fell on the ground and as promised, Jeremy caught her, although not with his hands. His face was underneath the very garment he was just staring at a moment before.

The cat then fell on Mari's hands and she moved quickly away from Jeremy when she realized what position they were in. Jeremy was still shaken up and you can see a couple of panties moving around Jeremy's delirious head.

Mari petted the cat while she waited for Jeremy to come to.

"Hey, you're okay?" Mari asked.

Jeremy sat down with his hand trying to feel his head.

"Oh yeaah so, we should phone the owner now," Jeremy said as he dialed the number.

As the call connected, the phone inside Mari's pocket rang. And they just ended up looking at each other.

"He...he's yours?"

"Uhm.. yes." Mari answered and she was evidently embarrassed.

"Why didn't you say so? We would have helped you anyway."

"I... I just feel embarrassed. That's all. It's just so girly."

"What? Girly? So what? You're a girl. You can act girly. You're so cute."

Mari was petrified ... You're so cute... you're so cute... the words from Jeremy's mouth repeated endlessly in her mind.

Jeremy gently took the cat and rubbed his head. "you're so cute, Kuro."

And the petrified Mari seemed to crack and she was shattered all the way, so he meant the cat was cute. Damn.
