The excitement could not be contained on Ben's face. He was quick to get up and was early to take a bath. He was really excited and was really ecstatic since it's the first day of his second year in high school. He was so pumped up to see his classmates and his friends once again that he was not able to see for the last few months.
When he was done getting dressed, he hurriedly went down to the dining room where a fresh meal was waiting for him. His mother cooked some breakfast for him so he would not go to school on an empty stomach.
There was his favorite fried rice, complete with those little bits of vegetables, and the rice is covered with his favorite margarine so it appeared to be yellowish in color.
There were the staple fried eggs which were cooked exactly to his liking, sunny side up with the red part still a bit raw and saucy. There were also some strips of bacon that you could already tell how crispy they were just by the looks of them. And of course, those red glistening hotdogs. The overall setup of the table was just so inviting that he could not even resist sitting down in front of it, even if he tried. There's also a hot cup of chocolate that you can still the bit of smoke coming off from the hot beverage.
He sat down and placed his hands together to say grace. His mother just looked at him pray while she was working already on the table on her laptop. She was working as an editor for an online magazine for home living and home keeping. It was just so amazing that she could work from home any day she wants to.
He went down to business as soon as he finished praying. He started with the rice, then with the bacon and eggs and followed by some bites from the hotdog. It didn't take him long to finish what he took on his plate. He got up and went to the kitchen sink to brush his teeth and he was on his way to school.
He plugged his ears with the earphones connected to his phone and played his favorite playlist which was a collection of alternative rock music from different eras. After a few minutes of walk, he reached the bus stop and waited for a bus. He got into the first bus that stopped there and sat right beside the window. It was a quiet ride but for him, it was a trip of rock n roll.
He arrived at the school with some more minutes to spare so he walked along the park going to the main hall. The trees were just as beautiful and peaceful as ever and the flock of students started to gather in different spots of the school. He sat down on a bench first to look at the school grounds and the other kids already being rowdy amongst themselves.
He opened his social media profile and he opened up his notifications. His favorite band apparently released a new music video and he was eager to watch it. He glanced at the time and noticed that the classes are about to begin. He got up and decided to just watch the video while walking down the hall.
He walked briskly on the halls while his eyes were stuck on the screen of his phone. He glances from time to time to look at the room signage and he was looking for room 2-A. He glanced up again and saw the room 2-A sign and as he was about to enter he was bumped from behind causing him to step a bit further. He turned around to look at his offender but the guy or the girl was lost among the crowd that was entering the room. He stepped inside the room and sat down on the chair near the door. He was still watching the video when the teacher came in.
He hurriedly stopped the video and hid his phone in the bag. He looked up to see the teacher but he was a bit agitated since it was the "terror" teacher he disliked. He cursed under his breath because of his bad luck. He turned to the other students and he was surprised to see the faces next to him.
He looked at them one by one and as slowly as he could and then he looked for his friends and block mates, none of them can be found. He was turning his head left and right which caught the attention of the teacher in front.
"Young man. Are you okay?"
"This isn't class 2-A, is it?"
"No, it's not. It's the class next door. I suggest you try the other school though, you might want to revisit your alphabets."
He then grabbed his bag and went out of the room in a rush.
