This is one of the few cases in nature where the fungus comes back to life after being fully frozen and thawed. The Velvet shank tube is an example of this. This is because it contains substances which enable it to do so.
Velvet shank (Flammulina velutipes)
The cap of this mushroom can reach up to 12 cm in diameter. It is orange yellow, honey yellow, and later brownish yellow. The center of the hat is usually darker. The surface is slippery, slimy, smooth and shiny. When the fruiting body is old, it is very wavy. The blades of the fungus are white in color, turning yellow with time. They are sparse of various lengths, and the legs grow. The leg is distinctive and is the hallmark of this mushroom. It has a yellowish color at the top, and the closer to the base of the mushroom the color darkens to reach a dark brown or even black color at the bottom of the mushroom.
Application - very good edible mushroom. Only hats are suitable for consumption, as the legs are fibrous and stringy.

Ingredients
1 chicken breast, herbal cream sauce, 12% cream, pene pasta, green beans, salt, pepper, vegetable fat.
Frying the chicken

Rose-gilded grisette turned out only for the daring
This is a mushroom species from the series for mushroom connoisseurs only. And this is true, because the Rose-gilded grisette is deceptively similar to a toadstool and should not be acquired by amateurs.
The diameter of the cap of this mushroom species can reach up to 15 cm. The color of the hat is most often gray-brown, sometimes ivory. The shape of the young fruiting body is bell-shaped, becoming outstretched and even flat with age. The surface of the hat is smooth, dry, shiny like silk.
The mushroom is of the lamellar species. Its gills are first white in color, and with age they turn to salmon pink.
The leg can reach a length of up to 12 cm, which, combined with the sumptuous hat, can make a great impression on potential mushroom pickers.
Stubble rosegill, is an edible mushroom. It is not highly valued among mushroom pickers because of its questionable taste. It is a moot point, because the delicate taste and smell of radish may be the advantage of this mushroom. A bigger problem for pickers is its appearance, which closely resembles a toadstool.

''Krupnik'' soup on chicken hearts with barley and potatoes
Ingredients
1 kg serc z kurczaka, 1 szklanka kaszy jęczmiennej, marchewka, pietruszka korzeń, seler korzeń, 0,5 kg ziemniaków, przyprawy, sól, pieprz, vegeta, ziele angielskie, liść laurowy, magi, sos sojowy.
Thoroughly wash the poultry hearts, clean and cut them into smaller pieces.
Then put the sliced hearts into a pot with cold water and cook slowly. When the hearts boil, collect the cut protein from the stock.
In the next step, add parsley, carrot, celery and allspice, bay leaf, pepper and salt to the stock and cook until the vegetables are slightly soft.
When the vegetables are almost cooked, add vegeta, soy sauce and boiled potatoes and ready soup.

Late autumn mushrooms - Hemipholiota populnea almost like jellyfish
This strange and beautiful mushroom can be found in late autumn, mainly on cut or dead poplars. Additionally, it has characteristic large scales, hence its name Poplar Łuskwiak.
This mushroom can have a cap up to 20 cm in diameter. When it is young it is almost white in color, with age it becomes ocher, brown with characteristic wool scales. It is often slimy to the touch and wet, quite fleshy, a bit like jellyfish.
The leg is thick and massive, with a cylindrical shape. The circle of the stipe is whitish at the top and rusty brown at the bottom, and may be scaly. The leg has a ring.
The mushroom flesh is white in color, brown, rusty in older fruiting bodies. The smell of the mushroom is unpleasant and the taste is often very bitter, and although it is not poisonous, it disqualifies it in the kitchen.

''Grochówka'' Pea soup with smoked meat, with Polish sausage and potatoes
Ingredients
0.5 kg of smoked pork chops, 0.5 kg of shelled peas, 0.2 kg of Krakow or Silesian sausage, carrot, parsley root, celery root, leek, 0.3 kg of potatoes, marjoram, allspice, bay leaf, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and vegeta.
Wash the pork bones thoroughly and put them in a pot with cold water and cook over low heat. When the meat is boiling, collect the scum and add the previously peeled vegetables, i.e. carrots, parsley, celery and leek, as well as spices, salt, pepper, allspice, bay leaf and a lot of marjoram.
When the vegetables are slightly soft, add the previously soaked peas. Cook everything until all ingredients are tender. Then add the peeled and diced sausage. The last element is peeled, diced potatoes, which we cook until tender.

Traveling around Indonesia - Flores Island - changing the colors of the lake on the Kelimutu volcano - part1
The Kelimutu volcano is located near the village of Moni on the island of Flores. It is not the volcano itself that makes tourists trek to the top, but the three amazing lakes located there.
The amazing thing about these lakes is that they periodically change colors, and it is not entirely clear why and when they will. One day we are worlds with a color palette from green to turquoise, and in a few days the lakes are red to brown.

Scleroderma septentrionale - autumn sand fungus - like a little ghost
I met this species of mushroom for the first time. Apparently, it can be found more often in the dunes than in forests. Mine grew in sandy, almost dune pine forests.
When I saw him, my first association was, which amused me - it looks like a ghost 😊
Where does the roots of this mushroom come from, up to 10 cm in length? This is closely related to its living environment, i.e. sand.
In order to expel spores to the surface and multiply, the fungus has to tilt its head high above the sand, and the sand, as you know, is a difficult terrain to break through, it gets stuck more, the sand is blown over the fungus.
As the fungus has no support in the roots of trees or stones, and basically has no support point, it was endowed by nature with long legs which, when tangled and mixed with sand, constitute a platform for the fungus to bounce back.

Turdus migratorius - The water games of a pair of thrushes
The Turdus migratorius reportedly only inhabits North America, the Tundra, and has occasionally been seen in Central America. But there are signs that individuals of this species have also appeared in Europe.
The male American Robin has slightly different plumage from the female. But its colors are brighter and darker. The top of the body and head are quite dark.
The coloration changes its intensity and changes from black to gray on the head, while on the back and wings it is gray-brown. The entire breast and belly are rusty brown in color.

Late autumn mushrooms - Kuehneromyces from the forest to the kitchen - but not for everyone!
Even though it is very tasty, this mushroom is picked up by few people with fear of poisoning and lack of proper knowledge, and let it stay that way.
This mushroom can be mistaken by an inexperienced mushroom picker with a Deadly skullcap - (Galerina marginata), which is one of the most deadly poisonous mushrooms in Europe.
The cap of this mushroom can reach up to 50 cm in diameter, but such copies are no longer suitable for consumption.
The shape of the hat is convex, bell-shaped, it flattens with age and a small hump is formed on the hat. Small brown scales can be seen in young fruiting bodies. When wet, it has a slippery surface, and when dry it is matt.
The color of the hat changes depending on how wet the hat is. The dry hat is golden, sand-golden in color, and the moist hat is honey, red-brown.

For me, Switzerland is above all beautiful mountains of the Alps, and between the hills there are beautiful lakes and absurdly high prices.
Interlaken is a picturesque town in Switzerland, situated between two beautiful lakes.
A boat trip is a must when visiting Interlaken. Observation of the mountains surrounding the lake cannot be complete without such a cruise. The emerald, crystal clear water of the lake gives the impression that we are in some exotic country.

Homemade lingonberry tincture - healing gifts of the forest
Lingonberry (red) is a well-known plant almost all over the world. In Europe, it can be found in wetlands, on moors, in coniferous and mixed forests, on meadows and clearings, forest clearings.
