Sometimes, it is inevitable. As much as we pray and hope that everything flows smoothly and gracefully, shit happens. Most times, it is not within our control and even though we try to avoid it, or thought we did what we had to do, to avoid it, some may say that destiny is as such that it will happen no matter what. No matter where we are, no matter how much we may have prepared, no matter how much ground work we have put into it, no matter how careful we are, shit still happens.
When it comes to destiny or fate, I can't help but think of the movie "Final Destination". In that movie, a small group of people thought they had escaped death but death slowly crept up to them, one by one, in the order that they should have died in a plane crash, one that they managed to escape.
When shit happens, it is hard not to feel despair. It is human nature, isn't it? If one loses his or her job, and suddenly, there is no more money, no more source of income. Many live from hand to mouth, what is earned is what is spent. There isn't enough for savings, let alone to feed the family.
We have heard, watched and read in the news how some who couldn't take it anymore, and decided to take their own life, in hopes to end it all. But when one does that, they leave behind much pain for those who love them. It becomes imperative that we must always look at the brighter side of things to avoid ourselves from getting sucked into depression, that may lead to such an outcome.
What can one do in any situation? If one loses a job, then we find another one? I guess that is the only option but of course it is never that simple. Jobs can sometimes be hard to come by, that is if we are choosy. If we don't mind, we can certainly find any job that is available.
The bright side? Maybe a breath of fresh air with a new job, once one is found although there is no guarantee that one can find one fast enough. But, it opens up more options, calls for more pressing thoughts into what other options there are.
Or when one is unhappy with the job they are in, a good question to ask is, why does the person then, still stays in that job? There must be something that is holding that person back and that the job is still bearable, no matter how bad it is? A job can be very stressful, or it can be very mundane, or perhaps the bosses are horrid, but if we truly dislike the job, then, the one thing we should do, is to find a new one.
But if we are not quitting the job or we can't find a new one, instead of slugging through it every working day of our lives, we must find that bright side, there must be one, even a teeny tiny one? Number one, I think, would be the pay. The job pays and we need the money. Look at the bright side then... at least we still have a job and we get to put food on the table.
Sometimes, all we need is to look at the bright side, to help us to keep going, to keep moving until we find something better. And while we are at it, instead of getting sucked into the negativity of the job, we might as well focus on the positives to make the job a better place to be in until we find a new one.
Its like Rapunzel stuck in a tower, unable to escape, but she kept growing her hair long, singing at the tower to keep herself entertained and happy, until she finally could. But then again, the reality is that a new job, may not be better anyways.
When someone dear passes away after a long battle of sickness, we may be upset, we may not comprehend, but you know what, it is a good thing because they no longer need to suffer. Or when someone passes away suddenly, from lets say, a heart attack, hey, the good thing is, it was a quick death and the person do not need to suffer for long.
How about accidents? One can be as careful as they possibly can, driving within speed limit, turning on the indicator as required and making sure that he or she drives at least a few meters away from the car in front. Imagine, there is a road work in front and all traffic is directed to the fast lane. While all the cars slowed down, following the traffic to go past the road works, suddenly a car behind hits a car in queue with full impact, just because the driver was either drunk or dozed off. For the car which got hit, a passenger died due to the impact and the driver had serious injuries. Guess what, shit happens. Or fate as it was written.
Whenever something bad happens, whenever I think that life is so unfair or question why do the bad things happen, I need to remind myself that there are many things to still be thankful for. It is easier said than done but we must always remember to look at the brighter side of things.

Really liked your view point on how to look at things and in general at life. When we understand that we are just a speck in this super huge universe, it helps us get some perspective, and then things suddenly don't look that troublesome or difficult or that they are ruining your life. This made me realise that again. Thanks!
