It is still good to be here

I was thinking just this morning, about this place. This place, which I was invited to, inspired to join, by the amazing ladies - @wakeupkitty , @gertu13 , @heartbeat1515 . Coincidentally, @wakeupkitty had written very recently, with the first sentence being a question "Is it worth writing, still worth posting on read.cash?"

"Worth" can be subjective when it comes to non monetary items such as time or when one indulges in one's hobby, for example, writing or painting which may not have a sufficient return. One's worth may not be another's worth. And the same goes with the phrase "worth it". What I deem as worth it, may not be the same reason why you may deem as worth it or not worth it, especially when the conditions and factors are different.

As I looked through the articles I have written on this platform for the past 9 months, I realized how much I appreciate that our articles or posts do not expire here and the same goes with our short posts in noise.cash. I can still send funds to an article written months ago, of a writer, new to me, whom I might have just discovered. I feel this is so important because an artistic, creative expression should not have an expiration. One should be eligible to earn for all articles written today, tomorrow, yesterday, last month or last year or even a few years ago.

And by being here, I appreciate the fact that we can write just about anything and everything under the sun or the moon or the skies, as long as they are not offensive, of course and follow the simple rules set by the administrator of this platform. The skies the limit, some say or the world is the oyster, whichever one prefers. There was no need to conform to a structure or form. The only thing is, it may seem a little quiet sometimes and crickets' chirp can be heard quite loudly.

I like that there is a platform such as this one that allows us to earn in a cryptocurrency that is strong and getting stronger by the day. It is nice to know that there is a potential to earn BCH and that 1 unit of BCH is currently worth more than USD900 instead of a few dollars or some others, in cents. Potential, is the key word and hope is the other.

The experience is different here. If you are one who prefers a me time when it comes to writing, this place is for you. Although some may not earn as much as others, or some none at all, for one who enjoys writing, enjoys typing, just being able to pen down thoughts and all the words that are whirling in the head, it is good to be here. It would have been better to be able to earn but it is not for us to decide. Life is never fair, I am learning to accept it.

Many things can never be explained. Many has decided to stop writing here due to various reasons and many more decided to continue.I guess, it goes back to our priorities. There is not much to lose really. We get to release steam and we get to practice too. There is much to learn, if only we allow ourselves to. But of course, if we are not earning as much as other platforms, a question comes, why then, do we continue to write here?

The truth is, there were times when I wondered if I should just stop writing here. It felt frustrating at one point when nobody reads or comments but then again, when I thought deeper into it, why did it matter to have someone read or comment? It used to matter when that was a way to earn here. Engagement was part of the expectation to earn but too many abused the system. And so, the system changed.

I can understand the need for the changes and I am glad it happened because I think many of the abusers, if not all, are no longer around (I hope). But I blame them for the changes. The initial system was appreciated by many genuine and sincere members.

Abusers et al, they have no place here. People read, people know. Plagiarism, cheating and lying are big no-nos, no matter where we are. It is a big no-no in all teachings and religions. So, why do they still choose to do it? I suppose, only they can answer the question, and to the Power above and only they can answer to their own good conscience, if they have any.

The negatives aside, at the end of the day, it all goes back to our priorities, really. If it is to earn and if one is not earning as per expectation, then, one can choose to pack up, put the cap back on the bottle and leave. One can leave by their own two feet or one can choose to take their bicycle and cycle away to somewhere else that makes more sense to them. It is their choice.

If the priority is just to write, to let go, to write anything and everything under the sun, without a care of an audience or givers, then this place is a good place to be. Have no expectations, just write. Just write our hearts away and feel contented. Who knows, one article or many articles might just hit the right note or notes. If not now, maybe later. Just keep writing, keep hoping and keep going. If one chooses to leave, then do not be far.

Because you know what? It is still good to be here.
