Do you need a laptop in 2020?

I’ve noticed that the biggest advantages laptops have over desktops are portability, less weight, and compactness.

However, when we look at the advantages of tablets in relation to laptops, we come to the conclusion that the progress of technology is not only towards laptops, but also towards tablets, but also towards desktop computers.

On average, they are cheaper than laptops, lighter and designed to be used anywhere. Most of the functions you need on a laptop are also found on tablets. An added benefit is that tablet apps are usually cheaper than computer software.

If you need to finish some work while traveling, you can buy an additional tablet keyboard.

If you are planning a job "in the long run", you will probably do it from the office or from home, and a PC is much more suitable for such situations. They are much more cost effective, do not strain your wrists and back like laptops, and have screens that are much clearer.

In general, digital services, smart TV and players (such as Roku and the like) have many more advantages, because from them you can access the Google Play store, but also services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify and so on.

Of course, you can also watch movies and series via a laptop, but the screen is small and no one needs to mess with various HDMI cables and the like.

Of course, I will try to give some reasons why the laptop is an advantage, to be extremely open, I am someone who prefers nostalgically desktop computers, but technology goes forward and the laptop is better, but notepad still belongs to the future, and these are some of advantages.

If you work at a job that requires a lot of movement (like journalism or professional photography), chances are you'll often have to add peripherals to your laptop. This includes a printer, SD card, HDMI cable or USB stick, and most tablets do not offer that luxury.

Tablets simply do not offer the same storage space as a laptop. Most modern laptops have at least 250 GB of capacity, while most high-end tablets will have around 128 GB.

The discs are dying, but they are still among us. If you work for a company, you will come across CDs almost every day, whether you install software or download presentations for conferences and events. In addition, you can watch DVDs on long trips and record music to listen to in the car.

As you can see, these are just some of the arguments that are (not) in favor of buying a laptop. Although there are still some advantages, laptops are less and less needed by the average user, especially because there is less and less difference in price when it comes to tablets and laptops.
