July 16, 2020 - Senator Bong Go asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate the social media post of a college student critical to him. As an action, NBI subpoenaed the student and sent several other subpoenas across the country.

This has enraged many citizens saying that Bong Go should not take criticism personally.

So what's the problem here?

Criticism is the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes. It is also a way of generating ideas or viewpoints that can help to solve a problem.

It is natural for any individual to react if they see or feel something wrong.

If these officials will continue to silence these critics, people will be scared to speak up knowing they can be put into jail. This can cause unproductive discussions among the citizen and the government.

How can we improve a faulty system if no one will share his/her idea?

How will the government know that they're doing it wrong when no one will speak up?

How can we correct them if they will continue to stop us?

On the other side, it is suggested to use constructive criticism in criticizing.

Constructive criticism is a helpful way of giving feedback that provides specific, actionable suggestions. Rather than providing general advice, we should give specific recommendations on how to make positive improvements.

Also, we should not attack personally when giving criticism. This is bullying. Let's focus on what makes him/her wrong. Avoid including unnecessary things that can make things complicated.

Always remember that you can't be sued when you expressed your disapproval to something. It's your right to speak. Don't be scared. Be vigilant. Be aware.

LOUDER! I hope everyone will share the same opinion with us. Sana lahat ng pilipino ay magising na sa katotohanan, at dumilat na sa kanilang pagbubulagbulagan. Now is the time for all Filipinos to be united, yet this politicians only care about their images and reps.
